Hey! Just wanted to start up a thread because I couldn’t find another one, just got my BFP today after about 6 months of trying. Due date is 1st august! Still feeling nervous as I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past but both before 6 weeks, so ill be keeping my fingers crossed and wont let myself get too excited until that deadline has passed!

Hope to hear from other ladies due at the same time, and hear your BFP stories :) xx

@Talcott2007 I’m so sorry for your loss. I too have a “everything happens for a reason” mindset but it bloody sucks when there doesn’t seem to be a good reason for the crap we go through. Sending gentle hugs and baby dust for the future. Flowers

DiaryOfaTTCer · 10/12/2019 16:59

Hi everyone 👋
I’ve just had my BFP today, TTC #1, cycle #3!
This was our first month actively trying and timing sex so pretty chuffed it seems to have worked out!
I still haven’t told my partner yet as we’ve both been in work and want to tell him face to face obviously. I’m thinking about wrapping the tests tonight as an early Christmas present but don’t know if that’s a bit cheesy haha!
Feeling quite nervous overall as it’s my first and not too sure what to expect!
It will be really nice to keep in touch with you on here over the next few months 😊

DiaryOfaTTCer · 10/12/2019 17:04

Oh and according to Fertility Friend my due date is 12-15th August. I’m clueless really but assuming it must be about then!

What happens next, do I make a GP appointment?

glitterbomb234 · 10/12/2019 17:08

@DiaryOfaTTCer I did that we found out 21st November but he wouldn't really believe it as the positive was so faint! Congratulations

Sjacey · 10/12/2019 17:14

@DiaryOfaTTCer I’m due around the same ! 13th or 14th of August as I either have 30 or 31 day cycles and not sure what cycle I would have got this month lol xx

DiaryOfaTTCer · 10/12/2019 17:15

@glitterbomb234 ahhh did you!

I’ve had quite strong positives on mine, didn’t test until I was 20dpo and almost a week late because I wanted to be sure. I’ve tested with 4 diff brands so fingers crossed this baba sticks!

Macbless · 10/12/2019 17:52

@Talcott2007 sorry to hear AF has come. Hopefully, next cycle will be yours.

@NamiSwan @Frazzlerock I totally agree. Getting as much info as possible to help make your own personal decision is so important. It must have been so hard for your SIL and the rest of your family. Glad it all turned out well.

@Lucylou22039 hope you are feeling a bit better. Perhaps going through with you DP/DH might help? Xx

PandaPink · 10/12/2019 18:17

@Talcott2007 sorry, everything happens for a reason even though we might never know that reason!

Lucylou22039 · 10/12/2019 19:11

@Macbless thank you I've spoke to my mum and DP and they said it will probably be the 1000th time the midwife has met someone and said the same thing this month so not to take to heart. But my mum agreed that a bit of care wouldn't have gone a miss would it xx

Nics23 · 10/12/2019 21:24

Hi everyone, I tested yesterday and got a BFP! I’m 4 weeks and due 14th August 🥰 a few symptoms so far-cramping, sore nipples and overwhelming nausea if I don’t eat every few hours.

Tink12345 · 10/12/2019 21:48

Pink spotting, almost like pink CM. Mild cramps. Not looking good Sad

Moominmiss · 10/12/2019 22:00

@Tink12345 try not to think the worst yet. Pink spotting, even bleeding can be totally normal. And cramps are definitely a normal and common symptom. Try not to panic. I know that’s easier said than done.

How painful are the cramps?

Sending hugs. I hope you wake up tomorrow and the spotting has stopped. Xx

jennielm · 11/12/2019 06:19

@Tink12345 fingers crossed for you that all is well this morning. Flowers

Frazzlerock · 11/12/2019 09:00

@Tink12345 I've been thinking of you, how are you this morning?

Still no word from the midwives. I'm getting anxy as I need to be seen by an endocrinologist so I can keep on top of my underactive thyroid, and I think midwives need to refer me. I'm convinced it's what caused my previous MCs as I was slightly over compensating before. My thyroid is now at optimum levels but that doesn't mean it will stay that way. I think I will call them today.

Have we all booked in for our flu jabs? I'm going to book mine today. I think its pretty important.

Frazzlerock · 11/12/2019 09:01

....and the child next door to me has bird flu (just found out) so now I'm all neurotic about that!

Jojo19834 · 11/12/2019 09:14

@frazzlerock I have an under active thyroid too but this wasn’t raised by the midwife when she called (or my needing a prescription for 5mg folic acid). What should I be caring about? I’m on levothyroxine and it bought it down to 2. something prior to starting IVF. This isn’t as low as they said they’d like but was an improvement and they can’t test you whilst on IVF drugs so I haven’t been tested since. I slightly increased my dose as there was wiggle room (I thought, from 100/75 alternating to just 100) but now feeling naughty based on what you said!! Just wondering what advice you have really!

Macbless · 11/12/2019 09:31

@Lucylou22039 I totally agree they should know that whilst they've told 1000 women, this is the first time you've (& most of us) have ever heard it! Xx

NamiSwan · 11/12/2019 09:33

@frazzlerock I rang my GP surgery yesterday and got a flu jab appointment for next week. The receptionist I spoke to said she thought I was too early in pregnancy for it but would check. Good thing she did as her more knowledgeable colleague said it's recommended at any point in pregnancy and to book it in. So just wanted to warn you ladies if anyone tries to fob you off with it's too early they are wrong!

PandaPink · 11/12/2019 09:37

I am a nurse in a GP practice and popped up to the midwife in my practice last week and she gave me my flu jab at 5 weeks. X

Frazzlerock · 11/12/2019 09:38

@Jojo19834 I'm no expert, I feel I should be as was diagnosed many years ago. My RMC consultant said my thyroid was slightly overcompensating when they ran tests after our last loss (it was the only thing that came up) and I think its possible it can have an effect (though nothing is certain). I would pressure your GP/midwife to be checked thoroughly and regularly just in case. The thyroid is a pretty powerful gland so makes sense to ensure its in check.
The problem I found with the NHS is that they don't make enough checks when testing your thyroid. When we were TTC I paid to have mine checked thoroughly to ensure it wasn't just at normal levels, but optimum levels for TTC. I used this one with Medichecks
www.medichecks.com/thyroid-function-tests/thyroid-check-plus

If your GP/midwife does have your bloods done, make sure they test all five of those listed in that link. If they don't, then I'd really recommend paying for it.
I'm only saying this as I've lost three babies and if this helps avoid any further losses for me or anyone else then it can only be a good thing.
When I had my two older boys 14 and 10 years ago, it never even occurred to me, but I think I was just very lucky.

Frazzlerock · 11/12/2019 09:39

@NamiSwan it's never too early! I've booked mine for next Weds when I'll be 6+5

Girlinglasses · 11/12/2019 10:11

Pretty sure I was only 4+5 when I saw the doc and he gave it to me there and then and no adverse effects! I'm a teacher though and so work in a cesspit of germs so I'd much rather be safe than sorry 😂

Dollywilde · 11/12/2019 10:48

I had my flu jab in my TWW - ahead of the game much Grin

Tink12345 · 11/12/2019 11:47

So no more bleeding. Had a deep dull period like ache all night. Boobs no longer ache and dont have heartburn for the first time in weeks. So all in all very confused. Thanks for the messages..I'm non the wiser.

I'm unsure whether to speak to GP. So we are waiting for referral to fertility specialist. OH has had his tests done and I was waiting for mine. If I speak to GP and then we lose this baby...will we be back to square one with the specialist? I have endo & PCOS and had various ops etc so getting pregnant naturally was a surprise, and also maybe why I'm kinda expecting to lose it. Not sure if any of that makes sense

MaisieMolly · 11/12/2019 11:49

Already had a flu jab earlier in the autumn, it definitely worth getting!

How’s everyone feeling today? Still no symptoms over here except sore boobs. I almost feel that it’s not real and I’ll get my period any day now. Think I’m about 5+ 3 or 4.

I’ve also got another clear blue weeks in my drawer but after still getting 2-3 weeks a couple of days ago I’m terrified to use it in case it hasn’t gone up again.
