I haven't done the extra harmony tests, so haven't found out sex yet.
Have my 20 weeks scan in 2 weeks.

Re flights someone asked about, I have done several flights this pregnancy so far. Am currently away with work atm, so will fly back in 2 days again. All flights have been 1-6 hrs in length so far and have been fine, the worse was short flight when I was feeling sick in general (aboiut 7-9 weeks). I have another flight scheduled in january so far, that will probably be my latest (should be around 27 ish weeks then).

@teenmom2be Hiya, I had a gender scan bang on 16 weeks in my first pregnancy as we couldn't wait to find out!! Totally worth it in my opinion and it felt like ages between the 12 and 20 week scan so it was nice to have something to look forward to ☺️

CharlieB93 · 22/11/2019 11:44

@teenmom2be I'm in the same boat as you! I'm not sure whether to or not! Can they tell what gender it is bang on 16 weeks? I'd also feel better as between 12 and 20 weeks it feels like an eternity!

GinUnicorn · 22/11/2019 11:55

@Missmuck any chance you’d post the scan so I could compare to mine? I’m dying to know gender

GinUnicorn · 22/11/2019 11:56

@Lu1u did you have any idea before? I have one little one but I am so desperate to know! I hate surprises ha ha

Moonstone12 · 22/11/2019 12:36

@Missmuck @Layladylay234 I too have big age gaps :)

My 3 will be 16,14 & 8 when this one is born. Eeeek!

SwiftlySwifty · 22/11/2019 13:46

Hello all, I'm a first time poster on mumsnet.
Congratulations to all of you!
We're due on the 12th May and we were advised to do a Harmony blood test after getting the results from our nuchal scan.
To those of you who had Harmony tests how long did you wait to get your results? And how did they come, via a phone call or email? We had ours last Saturday so we should hear any day now but getting increasingly anxious the nearer it gets!

@SwiftlySwifty we also did the Harmony test on Saturday and our results came Wednesday afternoon. They gave me a call first to tell me the result is low risk, then emailed me the detailed results.

november90 · 22/11/2019 14:57

Hi everyone!
So exciting to see others finding out the gender! We have our gender scan on Tuesday but we're told at our 13 week scan it was looking like a boy and the nub was stacked on our copy so I would be very shocked if they said girl!
So excited for it all to feel more real as I still can't believe I have another baby coming soon!

I hope everyone is well :)

SwiftlySwifty · 22/11/2019 15:04

@woolycat Thanks for getting back to me! That was a quick result! Hopefully we will hear this afternoon or early next week 🤞🏻

GinUnicorn · 22/11/2019 18:47

@Missmuck you must be so excited! I can’t see a boy nub in yours though so I think I’m just crap at spotting ha ha

GinUnicorn · 22/11/2019 18:47

@november90 dying to know gender. I’ve been studying mine obsessively but can’t see a nub! 13 weeks thought I’d see!

slowrunningteacher · 22/11/2019 18:56

As an older mum to be (40) I was stressing about our screening results. Weirdly I was starting relax as it was a week and I hadn't had a phone call. Anyway, they were waiting for me when I got home from work.
Our chance of having a baby with:
Down's syndrome is 1 in 4579
Edward's or Patau Syndromes is 1 in 78460.
I'll take that risk! Phew!

woollycat · 22/11/2019 19:04

@SwiftlySwifty my clinic said it was 5-7 calendar days for them, but they are in London and had to send the samples literally across the street only. For clinics that send samples further away it can take a little longer. Hold on tight, you should get them within a few days now I think!

november90 · 22/11/2019 19:47

@GinUnicorn did you post your scan in here at 12 weeks? I have researched it SO much it has completely taken all the excitement of my gender scan away which is such a shame :( I feel pretty confident guessing now though so I don't mind having a go with yours if you want 😀 (it's ok if you don't want to put it online obviously :) ). It's just so addictive!

@jeffsar4 I'm 38 too and omg this time round I'm really struggling! I'm so tired. I ache all over. The sickness is still pretty strong but that's normal for me. I never felt like this 8 yrs ago with my youngest! It's been a total shocker!

Bumpingalong84 · 22/11/2019 20:27

@slowrunningteacher those are super good risks. I’m 35 will be 36 when baby is born and mine were 1:3400 for downs and 1:50000 for patau and 1 in 29000 for Edwards. Was fairly happy with them!

Bumpingalong84 · 22/11/2019 20:34

@november90 you’ve got me all curious again. So I’m attaching some more of my scan pictures to see if you think the nub is any clearer 😂 you’ve given me one guess already. Can’t wait to see if you are right! New Year’s Eve seems like ages away tho. The temptation for an early scan is high but then again I feel finding out on New Year’s Eve will be a nice way to end a tough year.

Bumpingalong84 · 22/11/2019 20:35

Of course that’s if baby’s checks are all good too as they are far more important!

slowrunningteacher · 22/11/2019 20:44

They're good odds @bumpingalong84. Such a relief! 36 is not old either!

Bumpingalong84 · 22/11/2019 20:47

I know but it’s mad how they change so much, with my DD 4yrs ago it was 1:7000 for DS. Still I’m pretty pleased with them as low risk.
