Hi all,

Anyone due July 2020? Sorry if I've missed a thread, done a quick search and couldn't find one...

DH and I were due to start TTC for #2 in the new year, but haven't been actively not-trying. Well something was just niggling at me over the weekend, I just 'had a feeling' if that makes sense... did an FRER yesterday and there it was! that second pink line...

I'm equal parts excited and batshit scared haha. I've not told DH yet, it's his birthday on Tuesday so going to break it to him then.

We had an early scan yesterday and found out we're expecting twins! What a shock, totally wasn't expecting it and feeling very overwhelmed about how we'll cope - DD will be just 2 when they're due. I felt more nauseous when I was having DD so twins didn't even cross my mind. Definitely feeling more sick today but I think that's just shock Grin

Rosedale19 · 25/11/2019 10:57

Hey everyone I'm 5 weeks + 3 due on 24 July and this is my first Smile just feeling a bit tired and very hungry so far

mimiroo1 · 25/11/2019 10:58

How is everyone dealing with morning sickness on there commute. The piccadilly and the central line is not my friend right now.

Goldington · 25/11/2019 11:10

@rhij86 I’m so glad you asked this and thank you @gemf87 for your helpful reply! I too have been worried about it. I literally have no energy (haven’t left the house for 3 days) feel hungry which makes me feel sick but then as soon as I try to eat I can’t! I managed a child’s portion of chicken dinner last night but aside from that I barely ate anything! Glad to know it’s just me suffering rather than the baby 😀 I haven’t found anything appetising which is frustrating. Hopefully only another 4 weeks of this (I’m almost 8 weeks now).

Goldington · 25/11/2019 11:13

@mimiroo1 I’ve been getting a later train to work to ensure I get a seat and then just eat mints and stay off my phone! My boss knows and is happy for me to get in slightly later and leave a little earlier. I work from home two days a week so manage to make up whatever hours I need to there. Quite lucky with the flexibility really!

Nelbert19 · 25/11/2019 11:15

Thank you @Kiki275 and @farmmumtomillie - think I’m just wishing away the time to get over the 12 week mark!

This is my first pregnancy and I’m so excited it’s all I can think about! Hopefully will chill out once I’ve met a midwife and am able to tell people.

Still no nausea for me, but got a mildly crampy belly today and sore boobs. Could do with some nausea to slow down my bread consumption - there’ll be a national shortage if I don’t stop soon!

Anyone shared the news with family/friends yet?

Goldington · 25/11/2019 11:40

I have told my family and a couple of my best friends! I based it on who I told about my miscarriage earlier this year so I know I can trust them. My partner hasn’t told his family yet - partly because he wants to surprise them at Christmas and partly in case something goes wrong again. I want my family to know for support if it didn’t end well.

rhiiila · 25/11/2019 11:42

Thank you @gemf87 so helpful!!

Nelbert19 · 25/11/2019 11:43

@goldington same here. DH is still in denial I think and can’t quite believe it’s real!

I’m going to tell my sisters this weekend and some close friends the following week, again thinking of people I would want to turn to in the event of MC.

My mum guessed when I was 4+2 I think she might be a witch

Dafs123 · 25/11/2019 12:02

@BlueRaincoat89 ah that's amazing! What a surprise for you! So not symptoms at all? Xx

Julilie72 · 25/11/2019 13:14

@BlueRaincoat89 ohhh my goodness!!
You must be a bit shocked indeed...were you planning to have just 2 kids?
Good luck it's going to be a lot of work, but you will manage and it will be amazing to watch them grow together..and at least the gap with big sister won't be too wide! :)
I have a twin sister (non identical), and really it's the best thing in the world Grin, I feel so lucky that I have one, it's a very special bond!!

Julilie72 · 25/11/2019 13:20

@Nelbert19 congrats!
Well I was wishing for nausea too, but it's now slowly coming (7wks today) and I want it to go already!! It's horrible to feel nauseous at work :(
I have only told one friend/colleague, not really a close one, but I felt like telling someone! Definitely want to wait for the 12week scan to tell my family! And I will only see them for New Years, so I will announce it then!
My partner had told his mum, 2 brothers, a colleague and 2 bosses......Confused

susie12345 · 25/11/2019 13:50

Hi im really worried. I keep getting cramps on one side and it feels like some kind of tension. Im going for a scan tomorrow to rule out ectopic pregnancy so im worried :( i really want everything to be ok

BlueRaincoat89 · 25/11/2019 14:53

@Dafs123 I'd had a bit of nausea but nothing like with DD. I'm still breastfeeding her so not noticed much difference in my boobs either which was a big symptom first time round.

@Julilie72 We were planning just 2 - didn't want the car seat/buggy issues. Guess that's karma! Lovely to hear of twins that are close - ours are also non-identical. The more I read, the more that twins sound like great fun. It'll definitely be hard to begin with though!

Goldington · 25/11/2019 15:35

Hi @susie12345 how bad are your cramps? It is normal to have some so long as they’re mild. I had them quite a lot on and off for the first couple of weeks and they eased off at around 6 weeks. I still get the odd twinge every now and then but I think that might also be due to the fact I am a little constipated and have always struggled in that department and the pain is very similar to menstrual cramps. My pain also tended to be mainly on my left side.

Good that they will see you tomorrow and hopefully it’s just that the baby is making itself comfortable! Good luck and let us know how you get on!

toomuchteaandcake · 25/11/2019 15:43

@susie12345 I echo @Goldington I was really worried at first when I got cramps (also mainly left side but they do radiate) but they've come and gone as I've gone along and have been nothing to worry about. They were never what I would call severe and not accompanied by bleeding, when I referred the GP said it wasn't anything to worry about

Also @Goldington I agree with you that the constipation / wind makes these things seem worse!

Rainbow2020 · 25/11/2019 15:51

Really struggling today been sick 3 times just can't seem to keep anything down 😓 going to bed to get some rest

susie12345 · 25/11/2019 15:51

Thank you for the reassurance i really hope they will tell me all is ok, i just so want it to be ok. I will let you know, thank you, probably will not sleep tonight

Goldington · 25/11/2019 17:04

@toomuchteaandcake eurgh the wind! I had trapped wind last weekend that was trapped under my rib and it was SO painful I thought something really bad was happening! I was at a party and immediately had to leave. I had a peppermint tea and lay down for an hour and was fine but it was scary for a while!

susie12345 · 25/11/2019 17:31

@Goldington the cramps are like period pains but sometimes quite painful. Always on the left side and sometimes in the middle. I am just so worried as i have never been pregnant so dont even know whats normal and what is not. I hope it will be ok tomorrow. Thank you for reassurance

toomuchteaandcake · 25/11/2019 17:34

@Goldington I feel your pain 😂😂 I have ibs so to be honest was quite bad already but now with pregnancy it's off the charts. Brocolli and all cruciferous veg are OFF the menu!

Ansisa · 25/11/2019 18:28

Congratulations everyone!

I think I’m 5+1 and due July 26, but from LMP would be 7+1, so have booked an early scan to find out more.

Feeling tired and a little bit sick if I get very hungry! Hoping I can hide it from work, Christmas party is a nightmare

RedRobin7 · 25/11/2019 18:46

@susie12345 I've had lots of cramping and weird sensations and everything was okay at my 6 week scan. Good luck for tomorrow 🤞

@l@Rainbow2020 So sorry you're struggling. I know it's hard but try to think that it's all positive stuff and your baby is cooking nicely. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

@BlueRaincoat89 Wow congratulations! You will manage fine and the twins will have such an amazing bond.

@Ansisa Congratulations!

The drs and midwives will go by your LMP.

The Christmas party is worrying me! It will be 5 days before my 12 week scan so I won't want people at work to know yet. I got so drunk last year they will know something is up when they see I'm not drinking at all. I'm normally quite a slim size 10 but already got massive baby bloat going on... I have no idea how bloated I'll be at almost 12 weeks and can't find a dress that isn't tight fitted! I have to go as I forced a colleague to come before I found out I was pregnant and she's postponed her family holiday by a day to make sure she's there 😳

Anyone had any thoughts on Christmas outfits? I also don't want to buy too early in case I have another miscarriage but lots of dresses are already sold out!

peanutfoldover · 25/11/2019 19:38

@RedRobin7 go along and just pretend to drink! Insist on getting a lift/taxi to keep up the act. On the actual night let people buy you the odd drink, hold it, carry it around. Buy your rounds as normal. They won’t notice you aren’t actually drinking it. Go to the bar alone and order a tonic water (or whatever looks like what you normally drink) and just drink that and leave the alcoholic drink to one side. If you do it all casually and don’t make a deal of it, nobody will notice.

I did this very successfully at a wedding, I was the maid of honour and on the top table. I picked up the champagne, put it down again. It worked!

Kiki275 · 25/11/2019 20:20

@RedRobin7 use last year as an excuse that you're going to be a bit more restrained this year 😂
Other than that @peanutfoldover has nailed it. Is your DP going? Mine is going to ours, so I'll be able to swap glasses with him easily (and send him to the bar for booze knowing he'll bring back a safe version).
I'm wearing a Phase 8 wrap dress I bought for DS christening as it's very forgiving x
