Lisa, piccy on profile....

Inzi i would keep him but I don't want to risk the landlady chucking us uot as she visits every 12 weeks.

On subject of popping early i think i may have lo within next week or so...he is right down low, where i could feel him up by rib cage he is now well and truley low down. Am waking up last few nights in agony as i try to move, as I walk i keep feeling stomach tighten seriously, right leg feels like it has so much pressure on it it is killing me. when stomach tightens it hurts and i sweat,,,,,anyone wanna swap???

Oh Les he is lovely. I think i could Darren around Where are you again? If I rememeber your london right? Im about 30 miles out of london. I have 2 cats already, one boy, one girl, who have of course had the snip

I was up half the night too, having tightening every 30 mins, started to get a little worried, but all has settled now.

J20 sorry about your nanna, hope shes ok.

Maybe we should have a sweep on when we think our bubs will arrive, and then compare.

I have a feeling mine will be between week 35-37.

lisa

muppetgirl · 29/08/2007 09:14

MOrning all,

We had a quiet night woth Ollie so hopefully things should be back to normal..

Had a bit of a down night myself last night as dh walzes in from work -late- then kisses me goodbye as he goes out to play tennis... I then spend the evening on the sofa....

J20 - Will ask about the liquid iron as I'm still feeling the symptoms after 2 weeks on tablets. What is your level?

Les - If your cat is okay with dogs we could have him as he's gorgeous We don't live on a main road and he could still be a housecat. We have a 10 yr old Lab who's lived with a cat and the pesky Jack Russell who's 14 months but he hasn't though he's great with kids and Ollie.

Inzi -Still thinking of you and your grandparents...

We're off to the gym this morning -Ollie is in the creche and I am sitting in the cafe. Lazy, yes, but I can;t face swimming when I get out of breath just walking upstairs!!
Then should really crack on with a bit of cooking. Need to do those ready made frozen meals for when lo arrives. ( I might be induced at 38 weeks due to size of lo -PLEASE can I!!!!!!)

Take care all, will speak later x

TheLadyEvenstar · 29/08/2007 10:10

just some more info on Alfie...

He has had the snip, is an indoor cat, very good with children, has lived with another cat but never a dog, is not fussy when it comes to food unless you don't give him his roast on a sunday and he sulks big time lol. He is playful when he is ready but other times he just lazes around n sleeps...typical cat!!!
In the almost 3 yrs i have had him he has only ever once scratched someone and that was a child who terrorised him for half a day.

errrrr think thats about it other than the fact he is a real baby.

By the way yes I am in London. Hope someone kind and loving on here can help as I have grown to love ya n trust y'all this last few months.

Collywobbles · 29/08/2007 11:00

Hi Everyone, Please can I come and join you all? I'm new to Mumsnet and have been building up my courage for the last couple of weeks to actually post a message! My due date is 22 October and it's my first. It's been a pretty normal pregnancy so far - although have just had low lying placenta confirmed. It was low at 20 weeks but expected to move. Then the other night I had a bleed and ended up spending 24 hrs in hospital being monitored. Scan shows that the placenta is still only 1cm away which apparently is still too close....not sure yet if will need cs and not sure either which way I'd prefer as both terrify me!!

lisad123 · 29/08/2007 11:40

Hi LEs,

I will have serious talk with dh tonight, as he has always wanted a grey cat. We have a pure black male who is the softy and a long haired taby girl who is naughty. We back onto a wood so the cats never go out the front, just out the back door and inot the woods hunting the mice. lovely pressies for me

Welcome to the group Colly, these ladies are lovely.Do you know what your having? I cant rememeber if anyone else has placenta issues but sure someone can help. Some of us are heading for c section too so your not alone if you do need one.

Lisa

Apricott · 29/08/2007 11:57

Morning all

Welcome Collywobbles. I'm currently waiting to find out whether my low placenta has moved too. Won't know until scan on 14 September though. I'll be 36 weeks then. If it's still low, I plan to keep getting checked until it really is too late. Desperately don't want a cs, so keeping fingers firmly crossed that the thing will have shifted. Hope yours does too.

Well, our Amby arrived yesterday. Hope baby likes it!! Just a warning to anyone who has one to assemble - our instructions didn't say anything about putting a second washer under the bar until the very final paragraph of the supplementary sheet about the spring cover. This was less than helpful. Basically, use both washers, even though the assembly instructions only refer to one.

Anyone else like Shameless? Dh gave me the first 3 series on dvd for my b'day and we're working our way through them. Someone asked ages ago for box-set recommendations - well, we can't get enough of this one.

MrsFish - hope your ds is feeling better today poor lamb. Croup is one thing I've never had to deal with - sounds awful.

Just been invited to pub lunch with colleagues. Would be rude to say no

Byeee

Hi everyone

lisa-its inzi who's grandma is poorly, but i'm sure she recognised the sentiment

muppetgirl-it is currently 9.4, not rising at all but not going down, been to see consultant agian today, took more blood, it really hurt, think i'm still bruised from last week, anyway, they've said if my b12 levels haven't gone up i'm going to need the injections as to avoid a transfusion at birth!

babies head is 3/5 down, whatever that means.

currently have dd over my shoulder whining that she wants LES's cat, he looks just like my older one, but she's evil! apparantly London isn't that far away
so am going to have to go out somewhere, with any luck i may lose her....whoops bad mummy, didn't mean that!

hi to the newbie

hi everyone!!

have borrowed step dads laptop so feel human again!!(its amazing how lost you feel without pc!!!)ours died,it would turn on but wouldnt do anything, couldnt connect to net or anything.dh ahd rang orange and told them he wanted to cancel his mobile contract as when we move there is no orange signal, but he explained that we still wanted to keep orange broadband.when we couldnt connect to the net,we found out that the plonkers had cancelled the broadband (despite several phone calls and them saying they hadnt) but not only was that stopping us connecting, the laptop just died and went to laptop heaven!so not only have we ten million things to buy for the new house but a new laptop is on the list aswell!its never ending!!!

anyway, orange have re connected us (until we move and then weve got the whole palava again!!) so for the time being i can come and chat!!

so how is everyone?have i missed anything?has anyone popped?

ft,will text you later, hope your doing ok sweetie xxxx

been having more spd probs.finding it hard now to just walk never mind do anything else.saw mw on monday and shes brought my consultant app to next week (monday) because there is the confusion over my dates (my dates mean lo is due 11th,1st scan says 20th oct and the last 2 scans have oth agreed with my dates).also need to sort out if im having a cs or not.im pooing my pants about having a cs (recovery period and the risks involved etc) but im also pooing myself about having a natural delivery (after the scar pain i had last time and the long labour i had) i know shes got to come out one way or the other, but im terrified!!!!stupid i knw, considering how many times ive done this!!

is anyone else having heartburn that is worse than ever before?i dont know why but mine seems to be constant and hurts more now.

am seeing gp tomorrow because there is a problem with my blood results after all.the gp that the mw spoke to before who said results were fine is the crappy one that cant be arsed with patients and all he does is go to the health centre, tell you take paracetamol and only works there so he can buy a new porche every year!(no joke, you go to see him and you get the impression he cant be bothered with you!one woman took her son there every few days because the son was having really bad headaches,gp ended up saying there was nothing wrong with him that he was just attention seeking, and it turned out the boy had a brain tumour and collapsed at school.so i dont trust a word he says) (sorry moan over!!!)

anyway,so i will find out tomorrow what exactly is wrong with my results when i see my gp.

right you can tell i havent been on here for ages, ive gone into rambling mode!!!!

right im off, hoep everyone is ok!

muppetgirl · 29/08/2007 13:09

J20 - Why has no one mentioned this to me?????????????

My mw who I really like and trust siad there's nothing they can do whilst I'm prgt but not heard of the transfusion bit after birth!! I was 11.3 with the first set of bloods so always been under the 12-14. The second set was 2 weeks ago and the next set of bloods isn;t until 4 weeks time....

I hate the fact that everyone seems to have different opinions of the same thing...( those professionals have the different opinions)

MrsFish · 29/08/2007 14:25

I will find out tomorrow what they are going to do about bloods. My iron level dropped from 13.5 at the start of pregnancy to 9.4 when I had my bloods done. All my mw told me to do was eat steak and green and blacks choc it does all seem a bit all over the place depending on where you are. I have been trying to eat more iron as the idea of a transfusion doesn't bode well. Apparently you only need a transfusion if your iron levels fall to the 7 mark.

WinnieThePooh · 29/08/2007 16:16

HI everyone,

No chance of catching up with all the posts since I was last on.

DP has almost finished building DD's climbing frame. Had some biolts missing, but emailed the supplier and they have arrived today, so hopefully it will be finished soon.

I am 5 1/2 weeks off my due date, but I think this little girl may be early by a week or 2 as I feel really big this time round. MIL bought me some maternity jeans last time and they fitted me right to the end. Yesterday, they only cam half way up my bump.

Got to go to the hospital tonight for a talk about the Water birth as they on't let me have one unless I have attened this "talk". They only do them on the last Wednesday of the month, so I think tonight is really the latest we can leave it as this wee girl have have made an appearance by the time the next one comes around.

I hope you are all well.

Take care.

Hi LES

My hubby has said we can take him if you still want us to give him a loving home We are in Stevenage in Herts I dont know which way you would want to do it, but could understand you would want to check us out first
As I said we have 2 cats already, as long as you think he will be ok with them, we would be happy
Our little tanisha loves our cats, and isnt the sort to chase them around the house, Misty our male cat will happily sit on her lap, and often is found trying to sneck inot her room
let me know. My email is [email protected]

awwww I would love him but understand living with other cats is probably better than dogs.....

Well, I made 3 x apple crumbles (1 to have tonight) and would have made leek, potato and onion soup but used a different pan to sweat then cook with stock in. Lets just say that pan doesn't simmer well and after building a mini train set with Ollie it was welded to the bottom. It was also a really funny colour, a bit like curry so dogs have a different dinner tonight

I have been naughty and used a thermacare back warmer thing in my back today (it says don't use whilst prgt but couldn't see the difference between that and a hot water bottle) it was bliss, my back hasn't given me any trouble whilst cooking and bending all afternoon....bliss!

I do have 3 x verucca's on my foot though (I'm officially 'minging' now according to Jade Goody ) pharmacist said I couldn't used anything off the counter and I had to see the doctor. Rang drs who said I could have one with cancylic acid (sp??) so I'll let the pharmacist disagree again whilst my foot gets ever mankier....

Weather nice and sunny so got loads of washing done. Dh is going to play tennis again tonight though did come back last night with;

  1. Ambrosia rice pudding
  2. 5 x packets of Angel Delight (Butterscotch flavour)
  3. Flowers
  4. Chocolates

at 20 to 11 last night so he must have taken on board a little of my 'it's not faaaiirrr' moan. He's promised no more gym this week so at least we can sit in and be miserable together

TheLadyEvenstar · 29/08/2007 19:14

Lisa,

I have added you on MSN my addy is [email protected]

ejt1764 · 29/08/2007 19:16

I did write a long post earlier on, but managed to lose it somehow ... it's official, I have done too much today - after hydro, I went into school to meet with the new member of my department, then picked up ds from dh's office, then went to fabric world for some fabric for leaves for the headboard, and some curtain hooks, then came home ... feet are HUGE, cue whinging mess starting in about 10 minutes I think!

muppetgirl ... he certainly knows the way to your heart ... butterscotch angel delight ! Am glad that he's home tonight ... dh has decided not to play cricket next weekend so that I can have some time off...

lisa and inzi ... so glad the cat situation is sorted out!

inzi - hope your Grandma feels better soon.

winnie - which hospital are you going to? Is it Good Hope? ... I was born there! When I was a kid, we used to refer to it as "No Hope" ...

MrsFish - apparently 10 is the level at which you should be classified as anaemic - but as pg women have a greater blood volume, and don't necessarily manufacture extra haemoglobin, then we have a tendency to be on the anaemic side. My Hb levels were dangerously low after the 2nd mc last year, with all the complications it entailed, and they did everything possible to save me having a transfusion .... I think that they start talking about severe anaemia at about 7. I'd definitely second the liquid iron / spatone / floradix as an alternative to the bog-standard iron tabs the gp gives you.

buffy - lovely to see you! at gp though ... what an imbecile!

Hi & welcome to collywobbles - do you want me set you up with a bump buddy? If you do, email me at eirian dot thomas at gmail dot com, and let me know:
-your mn name
-your real name
-where you are in the country
-your mobile number
& I'll match you up with somebody on the thread ... so we can let the others know if we're not around for a couple of days ... and we can contact each other to inform of babies popping!

Right, whinging mess about to take over ... see you tomorrow.

alicet · 29/08/2007 19:25

Inzi ? sorry to hear your Gran is now ill. Your family really hasn?t been having the best of luck healthwise recently have they? At least it sounds like they?re getting taken care of? Thinking of you all and sending you big virtual hugs.

Chochobnob ? yep all 4?s doesn?t work for me either! And I have to say that despite trying very hard with all the optimal foetal positioning with ds1 he still ended up posterior! Same for a lot of my friends!!! Probably worth a go but I wouldn?t be too much of a slave to it?. Happy to be told otherwise by anyone it worked for though!

LES ? so sorry you have to get rid of your cat!! We have 3 and I would be absolutely devastated if we had to get rid of them!!! Sure you will find him a loving home though?

Unicorn ? Adam is on my shortlist too ? its that or Jake. For girls I like Francesca and Natasha best on your list but not so keen on the shortened versions?. It?s a minefield isn?t it?

MrsFish ? hope your ds gets better soon?

Night owls ? the lot of you it seems! Last night was the first one for 3 that I managed to sleep (albeit off and on) all through the night without needing to get up and go into the spare room to read. So thinking of you and hope you manage to get some sleep soom?

Collywobbles ? welcome!!! Never too late to join in. Sorry to hear you?ve been having a rough time. You will find lots of help and support from the lovely ladies here and between us we have had pretty much every birth experience and pregnancy complication going so lots of people for advice if you need it?

Apricott ? hope you enjoyed your pub lunch ? sounds like a great way to spend the day!

Buffy ? Hello!! Missed you! Sorry to hear about all your problems? My heartburn is getting worse too ? no fun hey? Can?t remember if in among all you birth experiences you have a section but to reassure you my recovery was really straightforward so if you end up with that it may not be as bad as you think? Will you say Hi to Floria from me ? think she?s been having problems getting online too so don?t want her to feel forgotten!

Winnie ? good luck with the water birth talk! Why do they insist on you attending that? Surely in labour you will forget everything they said anyway!

Lisa ? I think you were having another checkup today ? hope it all went well honey been thinking of you?. Great news you can take LES?s cat for her too.

Well thought this would be a quick catch up!!! We have a friend to stay tonight so won?t be on later. He is out with dh having a beer and getting a takeaway curry ? hope they are not too long as I?m STARVING!!!! Have fil up for the day tomorrow too ? dh is off work so they are looking after ds1 in the am so I can have a break and then playing golf in the pm. And I?m meeting my buddy chochobnob for a coffee tomorrow which will be cool! Only wish the rest of you lived so close so I could meet up with you all too?. Hopefully back on tomrrow evening. Hope the rest of you keep well till then and no babies born yet!

xxx

TheLadyEvenstar · 29/08/2007 19:30

Lisa,
Just spoke to DP he said if we arrange a time he will drive me to yours so we can drop off my baby.....don't be surprised if i bawl will ya!!!! I have had him since he was 4 weeks old. But I just know he will be well looked after with you. He has never been outside into woods etc as we live on 3rd floor so just a bit scared about that...sorry!!!!!

DS trying to lay on guilt trip with me about how it is not fair blah blah blah lol you know kids!!!!

Yes I am pleased and relieved that Alfie will be cared for by a fellow cat lover...just hope you can send me photos to let me see how he is getting on.

lisad123 · 29/08/2007 19:37

Hi

yes your right I did have another check up today, but was too upset to post earlier.
My consultant is an arse its offisal. His answer to my question about monitoring during labour was, yes you will need to be monitored thoughout the labour, my next question was "how will i manage my SPD with being stuck to bed"? His answer "you'll have to manage, you can lay on your side too". he then suggested that my SPD would be worse with moving, than laying on bed. I tried to explain birthing on a bed is worse possible position for SPD. His answer was, well im not giving you a section. hmmm doesnt he sound understanding?
As soon as he left the room I was in tears pooor midwife looked a little shocked, but tried her best.
I have rang physio to see if she could send me some more info on labour and SPD to show him in 2 weeks when i have to face him again

No more monitoring unless any more problems, he insisted the other docs were being over cautious about babies heart rate, and all is fine

Well thats a terrible moaning over.
