Does anyone want to start a thread for people due the end of May? I miss having people to chat to on the conception boards!

Sorry been quiet as i've actually been off work two days so nauseous! The only thing that would help me is being horizontal... back in today and coping ok. @PrinnyPree i have that horrible taste too, all the time unless i'm eating :(

Hi @Delbelleber hope you've had a nice first trimester!

mumofbun · 28/11/2019 15:38

@sao81 poor you that sounds horrible!

@mumofbun hope it clears up for you soon, mine seems to come in waves but have been ok since I was last sick 🤞

Delbelleber · 29/11/2019 11:27

Has anyone bought anything for the baby yet? I got a tiny outfit yesterday, I couldn't resist.

PrinnyPree · 29/11/2019 14:59

@sao81ah nightmare sorry you're going through the wars enough to need codeine, sending loves and hope the physio helps.

@Delbelleber on top of being given a load of stuff from sister in laws, I've actually been and got a few things including a bloody great big Boori sleigh cot from ebay! It was only £15 (I was the only bidder) second hand. Got a few teething marks on it but can't believe my luck and it turns into a toddler bed. I think if I see any bargains I'll happily buy stuff whilst they're on offer. I know its early (got the cot at 9 weeks lol) but it helps spread the cost. X 😅

PrinnyPree · 29/11/2019 15:02

@mumofbun sorry you've been so poorly too, all the stuff says we should be getting better soon, I hope thats right. I had a fainting spell walking home from work on Tuesday evening which was very weird. Looking forward to the "glowing" part of pregnancy instead of looking like a clammy mess with a mouthtaste that feels like I've never been introduced to a toothbrush.

mumofbun · 29/11/2019 15:34

@PrinnyPree fainting spell sounds horrid!!

@Delbelleber i've bought a couple of little bits of clothing and my sister got excited and gave me a couple too. Apart from that nothing yet. I was going to buy a cot in the black friday sale but then my mum said she would buy me one later as i was worried about it being too soon and jinxing things Hmm

OP posts:
Delbelleber · 29/11/2019 15:47

Oh that's very exciting buying a cot and well done getting an amazing bargain! Where is the cot, have you put it up? What will be my babies room is currently a washing room full of everyone's clothes and clothes horses for drying. Also a spare bed, set of drawers and an extremely heavy wardrobe I keep towels and sheets in. I'd love to make it more "baby" but it is a big job to sort out and I don't want to get too excited yet with 6 months left of pregnancy. Just talking about it here is very exciting though lol

Raindancer411 · 29/11/2019 17:18

My newly set up art room is now a babies room 🧐

mumofbun · 02/12/2019 09:56

I'm not really doing a baby room at the moment. I figured it's 6 months until it's here and then 6 months until it will be in it's own room anyway so keeping our spare room as a spare for no!

sao81 · 02/12/2019 18:16

We only have 2 rooms so our little ones will be sharing until we get a bigger house, luckily we kept the cot and moses basket from last time so just need to get new mattress' and bedding! Trying to put off buying clothes until we know what we are having, as I kept alot of my little girls stuff. Hoping to get some stuff in boxing day sales and constantly stalking mothercare for price drops!

mumofbun · 03/12/2019 09:33

@sao81 I went into Mothercare at the weekend! Prices still quite high on the clothing but some good deals with the big stuff - just haven't decided what we want yet! I used to love sharing a room with my sister when i was little - think it's just when they're older it's nice to get away Grin

sao81 · 03/12/2019 09:46

@mumofbun see when me and my sister shared we killed eachother 😂 I'm hoping to get one of their pram/car seat combos in the new year as theyre only £225 at the moment just unsure on the colour I want yet

Delbelleber · 10/12/2019 20:54

Finally found this thread!
How is every one doing? I am desperate to feel some movement. Sometimes I think I feel very faint flutters but I don't know if I'm imagining it... 16 weeks today Smile

mumofbun · 11/12/2019 10:03

@Delbelleber i think i can feel little pops of movement faintly sometimes too but i know with the first it can be later that you are feeling things! I'm 16 weeks on Friday. Been feeling awful to be honest haha, thought second trimester was meant to be better but i've been more nauseous, was actually sick for the first time, and so tired :(

OP posts:
Delbelleber · 11/12/2019 10:53

Oh dear poor you. I had a particularly bad day of sickness a couple of weeks ago then it went away... But without the sickness I'm thinking is the baby OK in there.. No way to tell until it starts moving for me to feel it. Hope you get a break from it soon.
Have you had a letter with your 20 week scan date yet? I've not.

mumofbun · 11/12/2019 11:39

@Delbelleber They made the appointment for me when i was at the 12 week scan and i got a letter then and there - i have it on the 13th of Jan. My current struggle is trying to get the flu vaccine. I thought i was going to get it at the 12 week scan but didn't and completely forgot to ask. Made an appointment with the nurse at my GP and got there to be told they weren't allowed to give it to pregnant women only the midwife...

OP posts:
Raindancer411 · 11/12/2019 12:17

@mumofbun That is strange as I had the nurse at my surgery give me mine and she also said about booking in there for the whooping cough

sao81 · 11/12/2019 19:20

@mumofbun my midwife has always told me to book in with GP surgery, I've never known them to not give it 🤷‍♀️ I'd ask again or speak to your midwife!

Had my 16 week app today and feel so reassured. Midwife booked my 20 week scan for 7th Jan, and said if my spd becomes really problematic they'd look on inducing me at 37 weeks which is scary and exciting!

mumofbun · 12/12/2019 10:19

@Raindancer411 @sao81 It seemed like a recent thing from what the nurse said. Midwife also gives me the whooping cough here but that was booked in already. I just forgot about the flu when i was at the scan so didn't ask. Anyway i phoned the midwife and she said i had to arrange it with the hospital so now i'm eventually booked in to get it the same day as my 20 week scan! We also don't get a 16 week appointment so i've basically had nothing from 12 weeks which I'm finding hard as it seems less real somehow! Looking forward to the 13th of Jan anyway!

How do you feel about the possibility of getting induced @sao81 ? Hope you're not in too much pain!

OP posts:
sao81 · 12/12/2019 14:33

@mumofbun I always thought everyone got a 16 week app, when is your next midwife app booked in? And I was induced in my last pregnancy due to reduced fetal movement so I kind of know what to expect, I just think 3 weeks early seems so early compared to 1 week early last time!

Raindancer411 · 12/12/2019 14:55

My midwife said they had moved 16 week appointments to 18 weeks as of listening to heartbeat

mumofbun · 12/12/2019 15:34

@sao81 doesn't sound like anyone does in Scotland. Unless you have notes to pick up but most people get them previously. I don't have another midwife only appointment booked. I have scan on the 13th of Jan and GD test in Feb!

@Raindancer411 i don't get one at 18 weeks either :(

OP posts:
mumofbun · 12/12/2019 15:35

@sao81 sorry missed the bit about your induction! Does seem early but i guess it's due to you being in pain this time unless the reduced movement started much earlier too?

OP posts:
sao81 · 12/12/2019 21:54

@mumofbun I cant believe how different it is! My sheet says 25 week app is for 1st time mums only but my midwife has still booked me in and I felt relieved! And I'm hoping I won't have reduced movement this time, as my placenta doesn't appear to be at the front, and I'm feeling flutters now much sooner so fingers crossed. Midwife says 37 weeks is still full term so baby will be fully developed, just have to see how I go with the pain relief until then i suppose!
