Bit cheeky as my due date is May 30th, hope no one minds. Blush

The May group seems quite established. I've been slow to come to back to the Mumsnet fold, did not expect to fall first month trying.

Really excited to hear about all your lovely BFP's and share our pregnancy journeys. Smile

Got my BFP today. Expecting my 2nd. DS was a May '18 baby.

I've hit 11 weeks today and nausea seems to have calmed down *knocks on wood. 😅 it's still there but not as bad. Also I had a bad migraine yesterday and took paracetamol and felt so guilty. I talked to a midwife today who told me it's fine. But to take the lowest dose possible.

MamaPeas · 19/11/2019 14:59

Hey guys, just FYI. The group currently on Facebook has decided to stop adding new members since its pretty busy already.
Hope those who decided not to join have a happy healthy 9 months. I probably won't be here much since FB keeps me pretty busy.

I'm not one for Facebook so will hang out here still, though I haven't been posting much. Looking forward to 12 week scan and telling people (already told a few). I haven't even thought about ante natal classes! How did you know when to book them, where they are etc? Every week there's something new to learn!

AttenburyEmeralds · 19/11/2019 15:59

Got my scan date through but still 2 weeks to wait, boo. Really hope nothing bad happens as my eldest has told everyone under the sun about the pregnancy.

Did you get your results yet @TwittleBee ? Such an interesting idea - I didn't know you could find out the sex this early. Really saves on arguments about the name though 😂

@Whatnext11 I booked an NCT class with my eldest (through their site) I think for NHS ones ask your mw? It varies so much by area

Rinoa · 19/11/2019 16:14

@Whatnext11 after my first appointment with the midwife I got an invite from the hospital. Definitely worth asking your mw when you meet with them.

Side note my mw is a man. 🤔 he seems ok, but he doesn't have a vagina soo... how would he know? Lol

AttenburyEmeralds · 19/11/2019 16:17

Oh, I forgot to ask - does anyone else feel cold all the time? Our house isn't the warmest, but I'm freezing even when no one else seems bothered. Don't remember this from other times but we were living elsewhere 🤷

couchroastpotato · 19/11/2019 16:18

Had our dating yesterday, baby is now due 27th May!

couchroastpotato · 19/11/2019 16:19

@AttenburyEmeralds YES!! Cold all the flipping time, not a symptom I noticed last time!! X

Whatnext11 · 19/11/2019 16:45

Thanks for the nct advice. Can't believe it's time to start thinking about it! They didn't mention it at the booking appointment, so next time I see a midwife will be 16 weeks. Will do some searching maybe, don't want them all booked up. Not decided whether to do private or NHS or both!

marmitecheesetoast · 19/11/2019 16:54

Ah how lovely of your midwife @kahstorm Great you get another scan again soon now!

Great scan pic @couchroastpotato congrats!

@AttenburyEmeralds yes, not so bad now but the first few weeks I was really feeling the cold! Remember the same from last time too.

I’ve been suffering really badly with trapped wind today, so much pain sitting at my desk all day. Pregnancy is so glamorous 😂

Rinoa · 19/11/2019 19:13

@AttenburyEmeralds yes I'm cold all the time especially at night around 8-9 pm so weird! I get very shivery !

@couchroastpotato that's a lovely scan! You can really see the baby's shape ! 😀

Rinoa · 19/11/2019 19:33

Question for all you ladies, this is my first, plus I'm originally from the states so not sure what's best out there baby product wise! What would you recommend as a must have for a new baby? I'm talking brand names of buggies, cots, nappies, nipple creams etc. Would love to hear your input ! I've started a Wishlist 😬

RainMinusBow · 19/11/2019 20:47

Also had my dating scan yesterday - I was soooooooo scared! All fine and still can't believe there's a baby in there. Due date now 29th May, I'm 12+4 today.

The sonographer was lovely when I explained I suffer from severe anxiety, she was so patient and reassuring.

Only concern is my BP is slightly raised so seeing Comm Midwife to re-check on Sunday.

Good luck ladies with all of your dating scans 😊

MissisBee · 19/11/2019 21:35

Hi everyone, haven't checked in for a few days. Struggling with nausea, even with cyclizine. Work was a challenge today!
Bit disappointed to see the FB group has closed - I, and a few others, were waiting until after we'd had our scans to join. Would anyone be interested if we set up another one?
10+0

HearMeRoarr · 19/11/2019 21:52

@missisbee yes I'd love to join an FB group. The group I'm in for my first is fabulous and I hope to meet more people to chat with and support each other through thisStar magical journey, sorry got a bit unmumsnetty sentimental there, I'll blame the hormones!!!
Ive just been lurking as I haven't had my first scan yet
@MamaPeas do you think there should be two FB groups? Seems a shame to close the group before others have even had 12 week scans

satanstoenailsandwich · 19/11/2019 22:08

Same as hearmeroar, would have loved to join fb group. But if it's going to be all cliquey and Mean Girls then I'm glad you've closed it.

MamaPeas · 19/11/2019 22:21

I totally appreciate it seems cliquey, there are a lot of complicated reasons as to why and it was discussed at length amongst the current members. I'm sure there are loads of people who'd love to another group if one was set up. I'd recommend the hidden level of privacy as not doing that was something that kicked off some of the concerns.

HearMeRoarr · 19/11/2019 22:23

@MamaPeas you chose to join the June group despite being due in May as the May group was 'already established'.
Then you closed the June FB group and therefore made it 'too established' for a lot of prospective june mums.
Do the rest of us need to join the July group in order to get in soon enough to join the FB group?
I think you're right Satan re Mean Girls reference.
If the mamapea June group is 'too busy' /exclusive for the rest of us I'll happily join a second more inclusive one @missisbee.
Thanks for offering to set it up, I'm looking forward to chatting on FB and sharing bump and scan pics etc!!

HearMeRoarr · 19/11/2019 22:25

Yeah secret group settings are pretty standard for fb groups with personal info

TwittleBee · 20/11/2019 07:10

If people want it, we could always set up a MN only June antenatal group on FB. The ones I am part of (both the June and July ones) are very large because they have so many people outside of FB, I was hoping for a smaller MN vibe to one tbh.

TwittleBee · 20/11/2019 07:23

@Whatnext11 I always tend to stay on here as well as part of FB so I'll still be around. Sometimes I like not having my face attached to questions (although I know people could easily link me from FB to here). NCT ones you might want to look at booking now actually, they give you a refund if anything happens (I have had to cancel a few times). NHS ones, your MW should give you details - maybe ask her to prompt her as some of them require early sign up!

@AttenburyEmeralds - Hopefully nothing will - your eldest sounds very excited about the new baby then! And no news about the sex results yet! They said Tuesday with Wednesday latest but when I asked yesterday they said it looks more like Thursday now! So impatient. Also YES to being cold all the fricking time! I've always been too hot in previous pregnancies, from day dot I have stopped sleeping in PJs but this time I need my dressing gown on at all times when in the house!

@Rinoa - I get you. You are able to request a different MW and dont feel bad for considering that either btw. It isnt sexiest - medical services should offer the option of sex based services. It is what you feel comfortable with and of course a man cannot understand what it is like to have a female body etc. But do bare in mind that he has gone through all the training and should know about everything even if he hasnt experienced life with a vagina. In terms of what to buy - honestly best thing to do is go to the shops and get a feel for it yourself. Everything is pretty on par with each other. Dont be fooled in thinking expensive means better - we made that mistake with our Silver Cross, it just isnt for us and wish we tried other brands but my Mum wanted to buy us it. Maybe we should start our own "baby essentials and other things list" at some point.

@couchroastpotato what a lovely scan picture! Congratulations!

@RainMinusBow Congratulations on the scan too. Hope you have some reassurance regarding the heartbeat.

TwittleBee · 20/11/2019 07:24

Btw! noticed my mistake in my first post! What I meant is both groups are so large on FB because they have so many members outside of MN on there - both are well over 100 people! So doesnt feel that close on there, I cant remember who is who at all on either.

Lemonysherbet · 20/11/2019 07:30

Hi ladies,

I'm a bit late to the party as I'm also between may and June, but I had my scan yesterday and am now due 30th may so was hoping I could join in here, you seem like a friendly lot :)

This is my first baby and I finally feel like we can get excited now we've had the 12 week scan 😁

So nice telling people, I feel so loved 🥰

TwittleBee · 20/11/2019 07:41

Welcome and Congratulations @Lemonysherbet !

Okay so I have set up a MN only FB group, DM me over MN your email address (that is linked to facebook) and I shall send you a request to join

MissisBee · 20/11/2019 09:29

Thanks for setting up another group @TwittleBee, you're a star. I'll still waiting till I've had my scan (2 weeks and 2 days, seem like forever!) My June 17 group was, and still is, amazing, I think it's a great source of support and friendship
