Bit cheeky as my due date is May 30th, hope no one minds. Blush

The May group seems quite established. I've been slow to come to back to the Mumsnet fold, did not expect to fall first month trying.

Really excited to hear about all your lovely BFP's and share our pregnancy journeys. Smile

Got my BFP today. Expecting my 2nd. DS was a May '18 baby.

Babybird20 my partner came to the first one I think but not to the next two. Also they asked me about DV and things at my most recent booking in which obviously they can’t if partner is there. The 16 wk appt generally is meant to be ‘mum’ only. My partner will be coming for the 20 wk appt as we see the consultant then and have been told it would be good for both of us to be there. Otherwise he will only come for the 12 and 20 wk scans

Hi everyone. I joined a while back by haven’t really posted anything. I’m currently 7 weeks at the moment and the sickness is awful! I’m trying my hardest to avoid the staff room as the smell of coffee really sets me off. I have just had my dating scan appointment come through and it is this Monday. I will only be 8 weeks then. I thought it was a bit too early? This is my first so I have no idea what to expect. Thanks! 😊

BabyBird20 · 14/11/2019 20:56

Thanks @TwittleBee and @Chaosonthehorizon I have so little idea what to expect! Good tip on the bladder, I hadn't thought of that! Though currently permanently feel like I need to pee so that shouldn't be a problem! 😂

LondonGirl83 · 15/11/2019 06:15

Kahstorm 8 weeks is unusually early for first scan. It might vary by where you are in the country but that scan is often used to assess Down’s syndrome risk and detect other developmental anomalies and that isn’t possible before 11 or so weeks. Perhaps it’s just the book in appointment?

TwittleBee · 15/11/2019 07:55

Hey, yeah that is on the early side a little @kahstorm but completely within the range they need to do their tests. Only issue might be is if you date a little earlier than 8 weeks but all that will mean is getting another scan a week or so later! Here is a handy NHS link to all antenatal stuff you can expect and the approx dates:
www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/antenatal-appointment-schedule/

LondonGirl83 · 15/11/2019 11:22

8 weeks is too early for certainty regarding specific physical anomaly scans that are routine at 12 weeks-- I speak from personal experience. Until 11 weeks you can get a false positives for certain high risk indications regarding physical anomalies that otherwise would indicate a potentially serious developmental complication.

AttenburyEmeralds · 15/11/2019 19:51

Heya! Just checking in. I'm still feeling up and down about measuring behind by so much and I find it weird not having a due date just "June" 😂 which is why I feel a bit quiet but I'm moving along. I've had booking in & the mw said she'd put me for the scan on LMP dates so hopefully it should be soon & clear things up

Hope everyone is doing ok & has a good weekend xx

LillianFullStop · 15/11/2019 20:29

@kahstorm that does sound early for a scan but normal for booking. Usually 11-14 weeks for a dating scan I think? In any case if it's too early it will probably mean a repeat scan which is a bonus!

I've had my booking appointment and scan is next Thursday.

@AttenburyEmeralds hope you get some certainty on your dates soon!

10+6

kahstorm · 16/11/2019 14:52

@LondonGirl83 I had my booking in appointment last week and my letter for a dating scan this Monday. I agree it is very early. I will just pop along and see what it is about. It definitely says dating scan on the letter.

I have had 4 previous miscarriages and I have haemophilia so that could be a reason for an early scan but I honestly as no idea as my others ones haven’t been this early.

Sunshine8920 · 16/11/2019 20:13

Hello, I'm 30 and this is my first baby, I have 3 step children so have had a bit of practice!

I only just discovered these boards, honestly I feel so out of touch with technology lol!

I was hoping to join all you lovely lot! I'm currently 9+5, been signed off work since before I found out. Missing work a lot but am slowly feeling like I'm getting through the worst!?!

I like the idea of having a place to chat :-)

couchroastpotato · 17/11/2019 11:35

Hi @Sunshine8920 if you're interested we have a Facebook secret group that is invite only, you'll need to email @MamaPeas [email protected] to get her to send you the link though x

MumOfOnee · 17/11/2019 11:56

Hi everyone,
I joined at the beginning of the thread but haven't posted since as I was so paranoid about something going wrong... I had some bleeding early on but had 2 scans since and all going well so far! 11+2 today and can't wait for the first trimester to be over!
Could I join the Facebook group please? Who do I need to message and can it be done on the app?
Hope everyone is doing ok :)

MumOfOnee · 17/11/2019 12:01

Just seen the previous post, I've sent an email :)

TwittleBee · 18/11/2019 08:42

Morning all, hope you all had a good weekend?

I'm just waiting on our blood test results to say whether this little one is a boy or girl!

@AttenburyEmeralds any news when that scan might be yet?

@Sunshine8920 welcome! sorry you have been so sick that you have been signed off - cannot imagine what it must be like with HG

Glad all is going well @MumOfOnee !

Mummahbear · 18/11/2019 11:30

Hi all

First timer here

I’m actually “due” 1st July checked out the July board but feel this one is much better for me.

Every little niggle is worrying me but I guess that’s normal, had a early scan at EPU at 6+1 had a healthy sac and yolk but they couldn’t see anything else, the lady said that it’s quite normal in early pregnancy and to come back in two weeks but she seemed happy with everything the way it looked. Anyway I’m back on this Friday and I have the fear now, I’ll be 8+2 on Friday

Anyway hello, that’s my introduction done haha

7+5

TwittleBee · 18/11/2019 11:35

Welcome @Mummahbear ! And yup completely okay to see only that, especially if everything else was measuring up well etc too. I had a scare at 6 weeks, went in for an early scan due to bleeding and was told I was only measuring 4 weeks and looked like I must be MC, told to come back in a week to ensure I had past the "products" and a week later they found a baby measuring 7 weeks with a strong heartbeat too!

Mummahbear · 18/11/2019 12:42

My goodness @TwittleBee i was so happy to read how it turned out in the end. Such wonderful news, I hope you are keeping well x

BabyBird20 · 18/11/2019 19:09

@TwittleBee is that a private blood test to find out gender? I've signed up for every test offered by the midwife!
So want another early scan as feels like months ago I had the last one!

TwittleBee · 19/11/2019 08:34

yeah it was a SneakPeek kit @BabyBird20

Sunshine8920 · 19/11/2019 09:13

Thank you for your messages :-) @TwittleBee & @couchroastpotato
Thanks for the fb invite I probably wouldn't quite keep up with that one so for now I will stay put on here.

How was everyone's weekends? xx

marmitecheesetoast · 19/11/2019 09:18

Morning hope everyone is doing ok and managing to keep the sickness at bay (I just retched on the street walking to work as I walked past a bin lorry Blush)

Had my private early scan last night. Saw a baby, in the right place, with a lovely strong heartbeat! 💓 they put me 6 days ahead of what I thought, so based on scan I’m now 8+5 and due 25th June. I’m sure that’ll be liable to change again with nhs dating scan. Feeling a lot more real now!

Sunshine8920 · 19/11/2019 10:30

@TwittleBee what does HG stand for? ...panicking lol xx

Rinoa · 19/11/2019 11:04

Hi all 👋

Anyone get their antenatal classes booked in yet? I just got an invite from the hospital , got a date in April ! Feels so far away

kahstorm · 19/11/2019 11:22

Hi everyone I popped along to the ‘dating scan’ yesterday. I explained to them I was confused as I am only 8 weeks. They said my midwife booked me in early because of my past miscarriages which was nice of her. Everything was good. I couldn’t see a heartbeat but the nurse and my partner did so I’m happy with that! It’s so hard to look and find a heartbeat when you are trying not to move to much as they are so tiny! Still a little nervous but I guess I won’t be fully content until baby is out 😂. They want to scan me again in a couple of weeks time and then my proper dating scan will be 12 weeks. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly ☺️

TwittleBee · 19/11/2019 11:43

Ah sorry to worry you, I just assumed you had HG if you were signed off @Sunshine8920 it stands for hyperemesis gravidarum. I've been terribly sick, nauseous all day and being sick 2-3 times a day but dont have HG so still managing to get on with work etc.

@marmitecheesetoast aw glad the early scan went all okay!

@Rinoa yes actually! Booked mine in for April!

Ah that's lovely your MW did that for you and two scans will be lovely @kahstorm

Waiting for my 5th scan now, delayed by over an hour it seems as been here for 1.5 hours. Been sick once whilst waiting too, I guess least my hormone levels must still be high
