Bit cheeky as my due date is May 30th, hope no one minds. Blush

The May group seems quite established. I've been slow to come to back to the Mumsnet fold, did not expect to fall first month trying.

Really excited to hear about all your lovely BFP's and share our pregnancy journeys. Smile

Got my BFP today. Expecting my 2nd. DS was a May '18 baby.

Thank you @notnowokay. Not smelly or itchy, just the colour and texture are unusual to normal. I'm at 10 weeks. Pregnancy makes me worry so much! Left a message with mw to see if she can call me back, probably nothing but just can't stop panicking it's a mucus plug or something and i'll lose the baby.

TwittleBee · 08/11/2019 13:01

@Whatnext11 that snot discharge, I get all the time. Also, throughout all my pregnancies I frequently lose bit of the plug. Dont worry as it grows back, its constantly being regenerated as you lose bits here and there

TwittleBee · 08/11/2019 13:02

Can anyone send me the invite link to the FB page please?

Whatnext11 · 08/11/2019 13:12

@Twittlebee, thank you so much, I am so relieved I could cry!

Whatnext11 · 08/11/2019 13:14

@MamaPeas can help you with the Facebook page I think - not on there myself, prefer to be here so I can ask ridiy questions!

Whatnext11 · 08/11/2019 13:15

Ridiculous, that should say

Anny27 · 08/11/2019 13:41

@whatnext11 i know i'm not technically pregnant anymore but saw your question- i had slightly green discharge at 6 weeks and 7 weeks and doctor said it can be completley normal BUT they did do a swab as it can be a sign of infection. Maybe make a doctors appointment :)

Whatnext11 · 08/11/2019 13:48

@Anny27 thank you, that's really kind of you to post. Do think of you, think we had similar dates. really hope you are as ok as you can be. I think maybe I will see if I get it again. Less concerned about if it's an infection than if it's an issue with the baby. If it's an infection I guess it will come back, and not as urgent. I never realised pregnancy was so scary.

TwittleBee · 08/11/2019 14:06

@Whatnext11 if it is an infection certainly do get treated Asap, infection can cause serious complications in pregnancy. That's how I lost my little boy this year. Pregnancy is scary, no safe time during it.

RainMinusBow · 08/11/2019 22:43

Had my booking in appt today (10+4) with a student mw and qualified mw. I suffer with severe anxiety and they were both so lovely. The appt took about 1 hr 20 mins but I do have a complex obstetric history!

Loads of bloods taken and BP done (raised but I have white coat syndrome). Urine fine.

I mentioned to them that I'm hoping for a home birth all being well and they were very positive about it which was really nice.

Now got to wait for my dating scan which makes me feel really unwell just thinking about it.

If any of you lovely ladies have an questions re the booking in appt (it's changed since I had my last two 9 and 12 years ago) then ask away 😊

Whatnext11 · 09/11/2019 08:39

@TwittleBee so sorry about your loss. I left a message with the midwife describing it (poor midwife!) and will do whatever she says. I imagine if it's an infection it would keep happening.

Legendsonly · 09/11/2019 08:48

@Notnowokay That’s the key, keeping myself busy. I love to bake so I’m on the lookout for nice recipes to try. Plus I have a 3 year old so I try to take her out most afternoons so we’re not bored in the house. Yesterday I visited a friend who has fraternal 10 month old twins which was great, she was very informative.

AttenburyEmeralds · 09/11/2019 09:50

We have a heartbeat 😀 measuring behind even where I thought (7+0 where I was expecting at least 7+4 and LMP would be 9+1) but they are so tiny that a mm could make a huge difference so it's probably fine...

(I may need to get that tattooed on my arm)

Anyway, maybe not out of the woods but getting there so I'm pleased.

Anyone guessing whether they'll have a boy or a girl yet? I don't mind but I think it'll be a girl. DP thinks boy...

TwittleBee · 09/11/2019 10:39

Glad you're booking in app went well, sounds like they're going to take great care if you then with your history too @RainMinusBow

@Whatnext11 honestly not sure, it's something I'll be asking my consultant on Monday. I know I'll be routinely tested every 2 weeks this pregnancy from 12 weeks for infections and will be treated for them accordingly.

Oh yes another Baker on here @Legendsonly ! We should certainly recipe swap! What do you like baking?

Oh brilliant @AttenburyEmeralds ! Its amazing how things happen like this during early pregnancy. Keeping my fingers crossed for you still.

We are having NIPT test next week to find out boy or girl actually! Should have results back by the 18th!

7+3

Legendsonly · 09/11/2019 14:50

@TwittleBee I like making occasion cakes, I’m still learning but I made my first carrot cake last weekend for a cancer coffee morning at work, 8inch triple layer, and it was gone in 2 days! I love Cupcake Jemma on YouTube, she really inspires me.

MissisBee · 09/11/2019 17:28

I'm guessing girl this time, purely because this pregnancy is quite different to last time - highly scientific, I know! I'm waay more emotional this time, crying over everything and nothing 😀
8+4

LondonGirl83 · 10/11/2019 14:29

Twittlebee, where are you having your NIPT test? I'm keen to get when when I am nine weeks but most of the clinics I've found don't do them that earlier even though the tests can be done from then. I'm in London.

I'm currently just over 6 weeks and we had a viability scan and saw a heartbeat which was a great relief as I'd been experiencing some very light brown spotting. I had the same with my now 2 year old DD so wan't panicked but still am relieved.

Feel much more pregnant now - can't forget now as I have that strong hormonal feel (tingling hot skin) all the time and loss of appetite, bloated, huge boobs etc.

Good luck to everyone with upcoming scans!

TwittleBee · 11/11/2019 08:23

@LondonGirl83 - it is the SneakPak home testing kit - so literally only does the sex of the baby not the other screenings that a NIPT can be done. But they do it from 8 weeks, I guess because it is only screening for the sex. I got it gifted to me by them, so it is free.

@Legendsonly - love making proper occasion cakes! I am more of a bread girl, I do actually swear by Paul Hollywoods' baking bible book. Have you made a Guinness cake? Really recommend that, always have it requested. link: www.nigella.com/recipes/chocolate-guinness-cake

@MissisBee - tbf everyone i have spoken to who has had very different pregnancies have gone onto have different sexes!

Is anyone here in the FB group? Could you message MamaPeas on the FB page to send me a link? I have DMed and Emailed her but I guess she doesnt look at them very often?

Rinoa · 11/11/2019 08:43

Do they usually do a scan at the first midwife appointment?

TwittleBee · 11/11/2019 09:12

@Rinoa - no not usually, first MW app is usually around 8 to 10 weeks and first scan is usually the dating scan between 11 to 14 weeks.

cookielove · 11/11/2019 14:52

Had my scan today, after a very worrying time i am pleased to say i am 11+6 due date the 26th May and baby was wiggling away!

Notnowokay · 11/11/2019 15:00

The booking in appointment with the midwife for me has involved:

  • a lot questions about me & partner & family medical history
  • asking for your permission to test you for certain things. *blood test
  • offer dating scan and other screening
  • I was given lots of leaflets about the hospital and their amazing birthing centre (that I'm not eligible for), the classes they offer and who to contact if I'm intrested And one really useful one about roughly minimum appointments to expect.
  • I have always been askes about domestic violence and the one time dh accompany me to one he was asked if he could get a her letter from the reception & that is when she quickly asked me. Don't feel threatened if they do that, it is just something they do to try and protect women.
TwittleBee · 11/11/2019 15:09

Ah I had an early scan and my booking app today!

@cookielove - What a lovely scan pic and what a relief for you too! I am exactly a month behind you! Dated as 26th June, so my dates keep shifting back a bit more and more. Not sure if it is something to worry about or not yet.

@notnowokay - did you booking app go all okay?

I cannot believe how long it took today, honestly cannot remember my other booking apps taking so long!

Had a lovely tour of the maternity wing and birthing suites too today - very emotional but glad I done that.

Notnowokay · 11/11/2019 15:50

@TwittleBee I'm glad your scan/ tour/ booking appointment went well. I didn't have mine one now. But I thought it was good idea to say what happened at mine one as @Rinoa was wondering if there is a scan alongside the booking appointment. I thought it might be useful to write my experience at booking appointment.

Notnowokay · 11/11/2019 15:56

@cookielove what a beautiful scan picture. Is that the first 12 weeks scan in this group, hope the rest of us get a good news + a good picture as you?
