Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

Hi all may I join?
Just found out I'm due 3rd May... I was so certain af was in her way but tested just in case, and got a 3+ weeks on clearblue digital!

I've got a 4 year old boy already and had an early mc in June so feeling very tentative and will be going for an early scan ASAP!

Doris19 · 31/08/2019 07:32

Just reading the posts to date and feeling better that others are also getting cramping! My cramps this week made me feel af was on the way and so very anxious it could be another mc...only tested as I suddenly felt a bit sick and had slightly sore boobs!

But with my first I had no symptoms till about 6/7 weeks so 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ every pregnancy is different I guess!!

Doris19 · 31/08/2019 07:57

@Caspianberg my guess would be they will try external and if not clear enough do internal. At 6 weeks I know it's internal, but need empty bladder for that!

Pindlesandneedles · 31/08/2019 08:15

@Woolylamb I feel exactly the same. This is my 3rd and I’m also revising for an exam. Also working full time at the moment so feeling extreme mum guilt. Hoping to go down to 80% after this baby though so that’s a light at the end of the tunnel!! When’s your exam? Good luck with the revising!!!

Woolylamb · 31/08/2019 09:15

@BlueberryPoppy123 you poor thing that nausea sounds dreadful. I haven’t had any yet but had HG last time so worrying that it’s only a matter of time. Definitely ask for help early, there are lots of lovely, lovely drugs that can help.

@pindlesandneedles exam in 2.5 weeks Shock. Seriously behind on revision after evil virus bug earlier this month too. Just sent husband and son to park so I can try and get a lot of work done but here I am procrastinating again! When is yours? Good luck with the revision!

FirstTimeMama91 · 31/08/2019 10:51

Congratulations @Doris19 welcome to the club!

Just filled with anxiety at the minute. Cramps are scaring me. They're not painful or all the time but they've got my on constant knicker-watch! Woke up during the night thinking I don't feel pregnant anymore 😓 roll on the 13th for my scan

Doris19 · 31/08/2019 11:01

Ah @FirstTimeMama91 I know exactly what you mean...

Planning to research scans over the weekend, what's the earliest you can have one?? I think it's 6 weeks...

FirstTimeMama91 · 31/08/2019 11:10

@Doris19 it's awful ❤️
My EPU are giving me a 6 week reassurance scan because of 2 previous MCs. But you can book private ones too through Window to the Womb and some Mothercare branches x

LuckyA · 31/08/2019 15:27

@caspianberg In my hospital, they are all internal scans until 10 weeks as it is much clearer at that stage. They have always made me stop at the toilet on the way to the scan room to empty my bladder for it.

I'm going to ask for an early scan around 8 weeks (hopefully I can hold off until then), as last time I had a mmc and I'm so nervous. My EPU are not the most empathetic so may need to pay privately.

Welcome and congratulations to the all those who have had their BFP recently!

Festivecheeseandcrackers · 31/08/2019 17:46

Hello, so I just got a positive test on Thursday night and thought I’d come and say hi. This will be my third child. This one was completely and utterly unplanned and DH and I were a little surprised. We have a son who is almost three and a daughter who has just turned one.

Is everyone still chatting on here or has a Facebook group been set up? I’m very close to the ladies in my previous birth groups. I wonder if anyone I know is in here. Ive last track of all the pregnancies!

Pindlesandneedles · 31/08/2019 19:02

@Woolylamb my exams in just under 2 weeks Sad looking forward to when it’s done and then I can relax a bit. I’m a bit nervous that the nausea will be really kicking in by then. Nice to have baby daydreams to distract me though Grin

AlmostAlwyn · 31/08/2019 21:19

Just found this group so hello everyone! Got a positive two days ago so it's still sinking in! Not expecting my period till Monday so still testing every day just to watch the line get darker Smile

Some very mild cramping but other than that, no symptoms so far. So sorry for you others who seem to be suffering already! Hope it passes soon Flowers

I'm not in the UK, and should have my first appointment with my gynaecologist at 8 weeks, so a while to wait yet! Had a fairly symptom-free first pregnancy so I'm not overly concerned about not "feeling pregnant". We'll see how it goes!

Huffthepuff · 31/08/2019 22:23

Hello all! Just found out 2 days ago that I'm due 3rd May. Great that there's already a thread going!

Sending restful vibes to you all, I'd forgotten just how exhausting early pregnancy is!
This is our 2nd baby (ds is 19 months) and I'm 39. Only symptom so far is tiredness during the day but then trouble sleeping at night.

mintbear · 01/09/2019 10:26

Is anyone else experiencing mild shivering? I think it's just my body getting used to the hormone change.

This is my first pregnancy and I'm really taken back by all the symptoms, naively I thought it would all kick in later. I'm starting to panic and anxiety seems to be creeping in every so often.

I'm finding myself in tears panicking! I know i just need to chill out, but I'm finding it really hard. Does anyone else feel like this?

Huffthepuff · 01/09/2019 11:38

Oh @mintbear sorry to hear that. Are you panicking about the symptoms or just finding it all a bit overwhelming generally? I have to say the first trimester is exhausting. Your body is working so hard Thanks

AlmostAlwyn · 01/09/2019 12:02

That sounds tough, @mintbear. What are you eating around the time you get the shivers? Could be low blood sugar? Can you talk to your GP about your anxiety?

mintbear · 01/09/2019 12:05

@Huffthepuff
I think I'm just generally feeling overwhelmed by it all. I haven't really let myself feel excited by it all yet, in my mind it's too early to allow myself to feel like that, just in case.

I just looked back at the posts and saw this is your second, that's a nice age gap between the two.

mintbear · 01/09/2019 12:13

@AlmostAlwyn
That's a good thought, I didn't put that together, I'll keep an eye on it going forward. I need to get myself a journal to track everything.

How are you feeling?

AlmostAlwyn · 01/09/2019 12:18

@mintbear not too bad thanks. Just a bit of shortness of breath so far!

Make sure you've got snacks to hand at all times Cake Grin

PrincessConsuela12 · 01/09/2019 12:24

Welcome & congratulations to all the new ladies 💐

@mintbear Sorry to hear you're going through that, it's not something I have experienced but I completely understand when you say you're feeling anxious. I went through a bit of a tough time last year & started writing a diary & still do it now. It really does make me feel better getting everything out x

I went to my first drink event last night, having to pretend I was drinking alcohol and not tired at 9pm was hard! I was counting down the hours! On the bright side I woke up hangover free 😄 Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday x

mininionsteve · 01/09/2019 13:48

Hello, may I join. Edd May 4th (doh is a Star Wars fan, couldn't have made it up)

All being well this will be baby number 2. Had a miscarriage earlier in the year so fingers crossed for a sticker!

Congratulations to everyone ThanksCake

Huffthepuff · 01/09/2019 14:47

Yes agree with others @mintbear snacks might help regulate your blood sugars if that's what's causing your shivers. Yes I know what you mean about not letting yourself get too excited. It's hard though. My imagination runs away with me 😌
