Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

Hi, I am joining 😊
I am 6 weeks today and morning sickness hit me this morning!
Slightly worried as I have also been made redundant so nervous about finding another job and how new employers will react to the news! I know you don’t and shouldn’t tell people at interview stage but just worrying that if I get offered a new job they will be disappointed when they find out!

november90 · 17/09/2019 09:40

@Huffthepuff thinking of you todayblovely 💗

@Nutsty25 congratulations! I'm a few days behind you and just starting to feel very slight nausea randomly through the day! I was starting to feel a bit worried as I've been absolutely fine so far but they do say it all kicks off around 6/7 weeks so I hope you're not taken too ill today xx

Huffthepuff · 17/09/2019 09:45

Hello new joiners 👋 this is a lovely group and you'll get lots of support here 🤗

Counting down the hours till my scan. Feel much better today, the cramps have eased up (still bleeding though) so I'm much more comfortable. I'm still sure that the outcome won't be positive but at least the pain has gone. Will post later and update you all

Have a lovely day all of you ☀️ xx

Hiphopopotamus · 17/09/2019 10:25

Thinking of you today @Huffthepuff and everyone who’s early pregnancy journey hasn’t gone to plan.

Can I join this thread? I got my positive pregnancy test at the end of last week. Going by the dates where you put in your last period, I’m 4+2 weeks with an EDD of the 23rd May. Is that how it’s done? It feels weird saying I’m 4 weeks pregnant when I only conceived just over two weeks ago!

As you can probably already tell, this would be my first and I have no idea what I’m doing. The BFP was a total surprise - my husband and I weren’t planning on trying for at least another year. We’re happy though and in a stable position to do this. He’s actually a lot more happy than me - I’m taking some processing time!! 😂

Basically I’m totally clueless! Because we weren’t trying I’ve done no pregnancy research at all. Do I phone the GP straight away? I’m worried about doing all the right things - particularly as I’m a caffeine addict - but I’m also scared of getting too invested and attached in case it all goes wrong. I have no idea when to tell close family - I’m very close to my parents and sister so I want them to know before the usual 12 weeks, but how soon is too soon?

So yes. Hi everyone! Hopefully I’ll be going along this journey with you all and as I’m sure you can see I will really need the advice and support!

MamaGothel · 17/09/2019 10:38

Had some not great news this morning my HCG only went from 71 to 129 in 48 hours when it should at least double. The hospital want me to come up for another blood test today. I tried to tell myself not to get attached to this pregnancy but I just feel devastated. I feel like it's either going to be another ectopic or I'll lose it at any time.

Allyism · 17/09/2019 11:41

6 weeks today and the nausea is real! Been dry heaving in the toilet at work most of the morning 😭

EmmaOvary · 17/09/2019 11:54

@Nutsty25 I was made redundant just before I found out I was pregnant! I am looking into freelance work, but if I do go for interviews for perm roles, I certainly won't mention it. Legally you don't have to disclose your pregnancy to a potential employer at all, you could go to interview with a huge baby bump and they can't ask you about it. So I really wouldn't worry about that. You wouldn't be getting maternity leave off them anyway.

mintbear · 17/09/2019 12:13

@Huffthepuff I've just read back through all the posts, my heart goes out to you and I'm thinking of you today x

ChampooPapi · 17/09/2019 12:20

Has anyone got their booking in appointment yet? I'm about six weeks so thinking of ringing up the midwives in a couple of weeks to arrange.

I have the pregnancy feelings, dry mouth, slight queesyness especially morning, and the hunger. But I honestly got so sick the last time from 7 weeks until about 15 weeks, then luckily it did go.

But really hoping it doesn't strike again in such an agressive fashion!

rosina38 · 17/09/2019 12:27

Firstly, thinking of you @Huffthepuff

So, rang the GP to advise them of my pregnancy. They said I needed to come in and complete a form. I went in this morning and completed the form and then was told I needed to do a urine sample so that the surgery has a record of my pregnancy. Seems like a waste of money to me as I've taken several pregnancy tests? Anyway problem is I have a family member that works in the lab in the local hospital and don't really want him to know that way. So I'm not going to do it yet 😬

TwinklyTwinkle · 17/09/2019 12:48

Hi everyone!
Hoping it's ok if I join? You all seem really lovely!
I got my BFP on Saturday after 5 months of TTC #1 with my husband - we're really excited, but I'm also really nervous because I don't want to get my hopes up! My digital test said 1-2 weeks but from the date of my last period, I'm currently 5 weeks. Booked in an appointment with the doctor for next Friday as I thought I should wait for a while until my period due date (tomorrow) had started and passed?

Hope everything goes well today too @Huffthepuff xx

Skiaddicted · 17/09/2019 12:52

@MamaGothel when will you get your blood results from today?

Nutsty25 · 17/09/2019 13:32

@november90 Thanks, I hadn’t really had any symptoms as such up until now, I’ve been ok today mainly just comes in waves, haven’t been sick but I have been close! I felt the same, even though you know it’s true it’s hard to feel like it is when everything feels the same!

@EmmaOvary it’s nice to know that there is someone else in the same position as me!

MamaGothel · 17/09/2019 13:52

Skiaddicted they said they should be ready in a couple of hours but the EPU closes at 4 so not sure if I will get them tonight or tomorrow. I'm hoping today, it would be nice to have an idea what's going on one way or another

Pindlesandneedles · 17/09/2019 14:35

Hi everyone and congratulations and welcome to all the new joiners. Thinking of you @Huffthepuff hope they’ve treated you kindly in hospital and that your being well looked after.

I tried to register for a midwife appointment and was told I had to come into fill out some forms. Surgery opens 9-5 so tricky to fit in around work. I know you’re allowed time off for antenatal stuff but to fill out a form seems a bit ridiculous. Anyway going to try and leave work early today as 7+1 now so really need to get the ball rolling!!
Hope everyone else is ok and that the nausea and cramps are bearable. Lovely to see the early scans, it must be so reassuring to know it’s real!!

KittenMittens1 · 17/09/2019 15:20

Is anyone having really achy joints along with back ache?

Sad Sad Sad

november90 · 17/09/2019 15:26

@flossy12 hi lovely! I just wanted to update you and say that my midwife app is the 12th of October and I'll be 9 weeks then! How crazy is that?!! I remember yours is really late too! X

Caspianberg · 17/09/2019 15:30

Not really achy joints, but havent been sleeping well due to sickness feeling and trying to not sleep on my front.

Is anyones Dh pandering a bit too much? I mean its sweet, but DH told me off for climbing a small 3 step ladder earlier to prune a tree. Then for painting garden bench due to 'fumes' (outside this is!)
I feel like Its barmy to expect me to be able to sit down the next 7 months doing nothing, as precisely nothing will get done if so.

Coastaldreamer · 17/09/2019 15:32

@KittenMittens1 yes on the back ache...! I wake up so early every morning because of it.

MamaGothel · 17/09/2019 15:41

I had some good news from the EPU, my levels were 265 so they've just doubled and they've booked me in for a scan next Monday

KittenMittens1 · 17/09/2019 15:43

same, for the last week or two I've been waking up about 5 or 6 times in the night, which I'm not used too!

Suppose I'd better get used to it haha Grin its practise for the real thing.

KittenMittens1 · 17/09/2019 15:44

@MamaGothel congrats!!

Shelbustotherescue · 17/09/2019 15:49

Hi Everyone

Please can I join - I am 6+6 due on the 6/5

This is my 3 bubba but 6th pregnancy, I sadly had a miscarriage in June of this year so I am under the care of the Early Pregnancy Team, had my 6 week scan last week and got to see baby and heart beat - next scan is next week Smile

I had my first midwife appt today and all went well. Did anyone else know that if it's 10 years or more between births you are treated as a first time mum as your body "forgets" the previous pregnancies and it's like doing it for the first time again ! Because of this, and other past issues with big babies I'm going to be under consultant led care - not had that before ?!
