Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

Thanks @november90 😘
I was getting wee random waves of feeling queasy from about 5 weeks but this week (6) it's just hit me hard 🙈

flossy12 · 13/09/2019 00:24

@Victoria315 I'm the same! I go on holiday the day I should be turning 8 weeks and we are telling OHs dad and wife so I've booked a scan for a couple days before we go so that I know everything is ok before we tell them the great news 💞 scans on the 28th and was only 48!

ChaoticKate · 13/09/2019 07:01

@Doughnot My 18 month old has been really unsettled since I found out. She’s still BF at night and has been ill as well so that accounts for some of it but she’s refusing to go to anyone else, even her dad, and had a 45 minute long tantrum at 10pm last night because she wanted to go downstairs and watch TV. We currently co sleep so I need to both wean and get her sleeping in her own bed within the next few months because I don’t intend to be sharing my bed with a toddler and a baby and my boobs need a break before baby number 2 shows up!

YorkshirePud1 · 13/09/2019 09:18

Hi everyone! I'd like to jump aboard if that's ok. I've only just found out I'm pregnant with my first baby. It hasn't entirely sunk in yet! I haven't had any symptoms and was expecting a BFN again so I'm in (happy) shock I think.

I've had this night in with friends planned for tonight for ages - a group of us get together once every few months, eat food and drink too much wine. Does anyone have any tips for getting around the alcohol part? I feel like they're all going to guess as it would be very weird for me not to drink. I can't not go really as I missed the last one.

freyahan · 13/09/2019 09:31

hello @Doughnot and @YorkshirePud1 welcome! an exciting time! as for the alcohol maybe just say your not feeling well so laying off it maybe like tummy trouble or something but you didn't want to miss out on the night? its a tough one.

i have constant nausea and cancelling is hard but i have IBS so blaming it on that currently lol

YorkshirePud1 · 13/09/2019 09:49

Thanks @freyahan - I think it's my only option, though sadly also means I'll have to be more reserved with all the lovely food too so I don't arouse suspicions! Haha.

I hope your nausea settles down soon x

Doughnot · 13/09/2019 10:00

@ChaoticKate tell me about it! My eldest was almost 3 and still feeding when I had to stop her to get a few months break before starting feeding number 2! As my current baby is so much younger, I'm contemplating tandem feeding but don't know if that is just nuts! At 4 months pregnant last time it got too sore to carry on, so I'll reassess in a few months..!

Hope your daughter feels better soon. Sickness always seems to ramp up the night feeds.

november90 · 13/09/2019 10:44

@YorkshirePud1 why don't you say you have a really bad water infection and on antibiotics because you're absolutely not allowed to drink with the antibiotics for water infections and plus you wouldn't really want to :) that way you can still eat all the food!

Massive congratulations to you! How far along would you say you are? 💗

Sunshine8888 · 13/09/2019 11:44

@YorkshirePud1. DH and I are on a detox 😉 We both do love a drink and never turn down a beer or glass of wine so the fact we are both abstaining makes it more believable!

YorkshirePud1 · 13/09/2019 12:56

Thanks for your suggestions. I don't think they'd believe the detox excuse, not of me. I do like a glass of wine 😬 Plus they'd pile on the peer pressure and tell me to let my hair down. I did think about antibiotics as an excuse - I'd have to be very convincing. Maybe I can keep running off to the loo to make it believable 😂

It's very very early days for me. AF was due today and I tested yesterday and got a really strong BFP on a First Response test. I really wasn't expecting it as we just relaxed this cycle ready to throw everything at it on the next. So I should be due on 23rd May all being well.

mollysmummy1970 · 13/09/2019 13:17

YorkshirePud1 I'm the same! Nobody would believe I wouldn't be drinking because of detox either!

I actually think my family know but they're being good and not badgering me so far. My sister actually said to me on Monday "I actually think that ur pregnant, Im putting it out there so that when u do tell us all I can say I knew" 😂

My nausea is horrific since I turned 6 weeks, this week has been a massive struggle at work. Once I've told people it'll be better cos I can deep breathe and sip water every 2 mins without questions being asked.

Sunshine8888 · 13/09/2019 13:34

@YorkshirePud1 and @mollysmummy1970 no one would believe it of me either but because DH is doing it with me I genuinely think people have bought it 😂 infact they keep trying to fix October dates to celebrate the end of the detox 😂😂 which is not ideal as I don’t think I’ll have my scan until the later part of the month! I’m having to be vague and not agree to dates, I don’t like lying but might have to tell a few more white ones 😬. If that won’t work for you I think the UTI or a kidney infection is a good one - no one will want to know details of that!!

YorkshirePud1 · 13/09/2019 14:06

@mollysmummy1970 - I hope your nausea gets better. That's funny about your sister though, she's going to be so smug when you tell her 😄

@Sunshine8888 - You might have to invent a UTI too then in October. I think that's definitely the excuse I'm going for tonight. In fact I'm going to line it up ready now and message our WhatsApp group to say I'm feeling ill but I'm going to battle through and still come. Such a trooper.

rosina38 · 13/09/2019 14:41

Hi ladies, does anyone know if you have any say in when your '12 week' scan will be? I've just found out I'm around 4 weeks pregnant and I'm going on holiday to lanzarote on 4 November. I would really like my scan to be before that so that I can relax and enjoy my holiday Smile

KittenMittens1 · 13/09/2019 15:01

@rosina38 I had a say in when to book mine, but they wont let you have it any earlier around my area, you can have it after your 12 week but not before - Thats Staffordshire btw, different areas may differ in their policy.

rosina38 · 13/09/2019 15:08

@KittenMittens1 Ah thanks for your reply, realised I will be 12 weeks on 31 October according to my dates and we actually go on holiday the next day 😬

KittenMittens1 · 13/09/2019 15:18

@rosina38 ooo, try and get your dr/midwife to book you in on the 31st!

How nice would that be to see before your holiday! you might be able to get in if its a couple of days difference Smile

Sunshine8888 · 13/09/2019 15:32

I’m desperate to get my 12 week scan date so I have something to count down to!

Countrysidegirls · 13/09/2019 16:11

Nausea and sickness has kicked in for me too this week, I’ve been working from home which has made it easier but am going to have to fess up sooner or later! Does anyone have any advice on when they’d tell their boss/HR team?

Also I’ve been taking Pregnacare vitamins but missed one yesterday and this morning I felt pretty normal, very little nausea and no sickness. Do you think that’s coincidence or is my body playing tricks on me!?

May2311 · 13/09/2019 16:19

@Countrysidegirls I am on pregnacare as well and forgot to take the other day- still had the nausea unfortunately so I would guess it's just a coincidence. Not sure about when to tell work either. I don't really want them knowing yet ( they are pretty annoying) but it gets difficult when I'm supposed to be travelling.

Does anyone else look 6 months already? I'm average size( not overweight but not exactly skinny skinny) and I literally have a bowling ball bump already! I am a little worried it's twins but do you think I'm just being dramatic? 😂 I know everyone gets bloated but this is by far not what I was expecting!! I am having to wear really baggy clothes to hide it😬

KittenMittens1 · 13/09/2019 16:28

@Countrysidegirls I've already had to tell mine, I didn't want to as i'm only 6+3 but I kept hobbling round with back pain, falling asleep at my desk and then i bled and thought i was having a miscarrage so he drove me to my drs for me.

can honestly say my line manager is amazing, when I told him he said take as much time as you need, if i need to work from home then dont worry, if i dont feel up to working at all not to worry and took me and the HR lady out for a celebratory lunch when i told him it was twins (wanted to take the whole department but didnt want to pressure me into telling everyone) as it stands just my line manager and HR manager know.

They've given me all my appointments i used my annual leave for back to re-use and HR gave me a key to a little room thats no been used for if i need half an hour rest or a little nap. Best reaction ever! I'm very lucky.

KittenMittens1 · 13/09/2019 16:32

@May2311 it could be! I had a scan (thought i lost baby) at 6 weeks. they said it was twins, Last 2 days i've noticed my tummy is not as squishy and is starting to pop out.

Although this could be down i've been eating everything in sight !

november90 · 13/09/2019 17:51

Wohoo so I did my second clear blue digital and I've moved onto 2-3 weeks now :) it wasn't a fmu as I've been away and the test was at home so I held a wee for 6 hours hoping for the same effect 🙈 I've been so worried due to lack of symptoms so I just had to do it to put my mind at rest. I thought I was 5 weeks (working from ovulation due to very long cycle) but perhaps I'm a little less of this is anything to go by! I got my surge 3 weeks ago last night!

Also feeling a bit run down as I've caught a cold of my little boy, great!!! What is safe to dose up on? I really don't want to be down for long 😩

May2311 · 13/09/2019 17:54

@KittenMittens1 love the idea of a little room to nap in😂!! Nice to hear that they are taking care of you at work! takes the pressure off.
