Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

@Sunshine8888 oh wow really! I remember, with my son, the midwife gave me an approx date based on the first day of my period but I just thought that can't be right as not everyone has 6 week cycles 🤦🏼‍♀️ I bet it felt amazing seeing the little baby on the screen for the first time. Are you feeling a lot more relaxed now? I've been super stressed and a bag of nerves today 😬 I think it's because other then the soar boobs I don't really feel any different still! Not that I'm wishing to feel unwell.....!

Sunshine8888 · 08/09/2019 22:17

@november90 I do feel better but I also know that others saw heartbeat and still went on to mc later so I’m still feeling a bit anxious! Really want to be positive and just enjoy this experience but it’s terrifying! I’ve really not got bad symptoms either atm! But plenty of time for that 😬 wish I could just hibernate for the next 6 weeks!

@tummyturtle nope we won't find out. Think other half would if he could but I won't let him lol.

@almostalwyn he's 7. He's been asking for a brother or sister for years now.

@sunshine8888 my sister was wonderful enough to tell me that repeatedly that even though I've seen the heartbeat it by no means at all means I'm in the safezone and I could still easily miscarry again... I just want to be positive though I know it's a possibility but just don't want to think like that now x

Are you folks going to wait to 3 months before revealing to friends and family?

Any experiences if previous miscarriages?

I fell pregnant immediately after a miscarriage), so a quite anxious...

Sunshine8888 · 09/09/2019 08:25

@complexsimplicity I am waiting until after the 12 weeks scan but planning to have at least two private scans beforehand for reassurance as I’m terrified of mmc! Already had one and will book another for 3 weeks time I think to break up the next 6 weeks!

Moonstone12 · 09/09/2019 08:44

We've told close family and I've had to tell my staff as I suffer from hyperemisis and it's quite noticeable that I'm not working or around at all. But friends/customers etc (I own a pub so on friendly terms with the regulars) won't be told until after 12 weeks.
I'd have rather kept it secret but sometimes it's just not possible.
I've no experience with mc so don't know if that would change my decision... but tbh I need all the support I can get from family etc while I'm in and out of hospital so I would probably do the same and tell them.

momo20 · 09/09/2019 09:11

I've also told close family members, but I'm going to wait a little while longer before I begin telling everyone else. I'm just at 6 weeks at the moment and I'd like to wait until atleast 8 weeks before I tell other family members and friends

Coastaldreamer · 09/09/2019 09:30

Hi everyone :)

Joining after BFP was first seen on Friday on an IC and got darker since then :)

EDD 18th May 😁 and will be first child for me and DH

How's everyone feeling? I woke up feeling quite nauseous but surely it's too early?!

mininionsteve · 09/09/2019 09:55

@complexsimplicity hey, I've had two previous miscarriages one before DS1 and the 2nd in May. I'm hoping that every other one is a winner!!

6 weeks today and got a dull period type ache which is making me feel a bit nauseous and is completely freaking me out! Anyone else had this?

Have told a friend and I'm pretty sure my dad guessed yesterday, want to get past next week and then reveal although I may tell my boss incase it goes wrong again!

ChaoticKate · 09/09/2019 09:56

Hi Coastaldreamer, definitely not too early for nausea I’m afraid. That’s what tipped me off to test and my EDD based on last period is 16 May. I thought my husband had fed me dodgy gammon for a few days but then I realised it felt exactly like the nausea last time.

I think we’ll leave it to as close to 12 weeks as possible to tell anyone although it might be difficult as my in laws live with us and we’re renovating our house so I’m going to have to come up with excuses to avoid paint and other possible toxins. Last time my mum and MIL both apparently guessed within a week of my BFP so we’ll see how it goes!

flossy12 · 09/09/2019 09:59

@complexsimplicity I was wondering this! I'm so close with my family and would love to tell them all the good news but OH has reassured me that it wouldn't be the best isedea until we are a few more weeks ahead

Had to tell one colleague at work as they wanted me to go down to X-Ray last night 🥴 but she is 25 weeks herself so she was just excited and answered loads of questions for me

Lu1u · 09/09/2019 10:01

@minionsteve I am 5+3 and also have dull period type pains (on and off since getting a BFP) and felt a bit queasy this morning. Try not to worry I think it's completely normal 😊

Coastaldreamer · 09/09/2019 10:12

@mininionsteve I've had the same thing on and off too with the cramping! But from what I've read it's all quite common.

@ChaoticKate ahhh ok. I literally couldn't even brush my teeth without thinking I was going to hurl 😂 although I'll take anything this pregnancy throws at me given how badly we've wanted it!

AlmostAlwyn · 09/09/2019 11:02

Also had some very mild cramping on and off here! No nausea so far though, touch wood!

I'm staying with my parents for 2 weeks so I've told them already, and had a family event at the weekend so told my siblings then too. It was better to tell them in person and it was either now, or Christmastime! If things happen to go wrong, I won't mind them knowing anyway. We'll wait until after my first scan appointment (in 2 weeks) to tell MIL then we'll see how long we can put off telling friends. We've got a couple of events coming up where I'll be expected to drink, so we'll see how I can play it! Grin

Caspianberg · 09/09/2019 11:11

6+3 here. Have had nausea almost 3 weeks already! I hope it doen't last for that much longer.
Scan in 3 days time.

Have visitors staying this week, trying to avoid any questions, but already have a bloated type bump so in baggy attire.

Will probably tell family at 10/11 weeks as that is when we next see them if all is well

flossy12 · 09/09/2019 11:41

@Caspianberg can I ask why they are scanning you so early? I'd really love one but would probably have to pay by the looks of it

Skiaddicted · 09/09/2019 11:46

Hi all,
Joining with dc 2 due in may Smile
18m age gap and im starting to think im mad already Grin

May2311 · 09/09/2019 11:52

Hi everyone

I have problems with my ears( not uncommon for me to have an infection). I've been to see the nurse practitioner today as I have another one and she has prescribed me Amoxicillin for 5 days. She said it is safe in pregnancy but I'm still nervous to take it.

Google also says it's safe 🙄 Am I being daft? Anyone else in previous pregnancies had to take it?

This is my first and I just don't have a clue and probably over worrying.

Thanks in advance 😊

Baby #1 due 14th May 2020

TummyTurtle · 09/09/2019 12:48

@May2311 sorry you have an ear infection. I'm sure if the nurse says it's safe, then it is. NHS website also says it's safe, and directs you to this website: www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/Medicine--pregnancy/Amoxicillin/

I know how you feel though, I have to take a steroid nasal spray in the colder months and even though the Dr has said it's fine to take, I'm still nervous about it!

PrincessConsuela12 · 09/09/2019 13:05

I feel truly awful today and at only 6 weeks wondering how I can do this for another few weeks/possibly months and then I read about someone having a miscarriage & feel terrible that I'm complaining about something like this & I should feel so lucky & grateful that it's (hopefully) a good sign and baby is developing as he/she should. When you're feeling rubbish it's hard not to focus on it though....

Allyism · 09/09/2019 13:12

Baby #1 EDD 12th May.

Time seems to be crawling for my booking appointment on 7th Oct.

Have a few crampy pangs but the tiredness is what’s killing me at the moment

Sunshine8888 · 09/09/2019 13:44

Just hit the 6 weeks mark today (having been put back a week at my scan) and still no nausea thankfully. I’ve had mild cramps since I found out and backache- all normal apparently, muscles are softening to make room for a growing baba! Work is so hard atm, is anyone else struggling? I’m ok in the morning but after lunch I just want to lie down. I feel so tired it’s hard to concentrate and food is not sitting well (feel so full and uncomfortable after eating). X
