Hi everyone! I can't find a May 2020 group yet. Most of you don't even know you're expecting yet. I'm due May 1st and got my bfp on 9 dpo. So I'm only 3 weeks 3 days. I feel like I may be lonely in here for a little while.
Looking forward to being joined by other mummies to be :)
This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was 7 years ago and I have a 7 year old son. 2nd was 5 years ago which ended in a m/c feeling positive for my rainbow.

@Krissyxo Awk fingers crossed you get your bfp x

freyahan · 07/09/2019 22:07

love seeing all the new BFPs xxx

DarkLikeVader · 07/09/2019 23:25

Evening everyone! I got my ‘can’t-argue-with-that’ result on a digital this morning - EDD 9th May! This will be my third baby. It’s immediately reassuring to see all the similar symptoms you guys are having. I’m alternating between cramps and not feeling even a little bit pregnant! We’re a little shocked as DC1&2 took 6 months ttc each and this one, we just couldn’t be arsed sorting out contraception one night and said well what are the odds.. well now we know! 😆😆

firsttimemum55 · 08/09/2019 07:37

@mumblingpenguin hey I say if it's real to you it's real so 🤷🏽‍♀️ lol xxx

DaisyRose2 · 08/09/2019 11:33

Hi all,

Got a BFP a few days ago. Baby number 3! By "period" (bleed post implant removal!) I'm 4+1 but the digital already said 2-3 before 4 weeks so I think I'm slightly ahead and nearer 5 weeks but we shall see!

I have a DS who is 4 and a DD who is 2.5 (17 months between them!) Will be just over 3 years between DD and this bump Smile

flossy12 · 08/09/2019 12:21

Hey Ladies 😆👏🏼 new to the BFP club! First pregnancy so all very new to me will be hanging around a while until I get used to it all x

Sunshine8888 · 08/09/2019 13:17

Morning everyone and hello to all the newbies who got their BFPs this weekend 🎉😊

I am bracing myself for some sickness this week! Little baba is currently only 4.1mm which is average measurement for 6 weeks but expected to be 11mm by next week - the sonographer said it’ll be coming soon 🤢

@BlueberryPoppy123 how did your scan go yday?

BlueberryPoppy123 · 08/09/2019 13:37

Hey to those who asked sorry I didn't write yesterday I posted on the facegroup post and forgot about this one. My bad.
Scan went so well... I broke down as soon as I laid on the table as I was so scared but she found baby so fast and the heart beat was pounding away. I'm 6+5 today and baby was measuring 7.7mm yesterday. So reassuring as I've had horrendous cramping. Put a pic up too :)

@Sunshine8888 I suppose it's sensible to expect the worst, but I didn't have any sickness with my first pregnancy, so you might be lucky! Grin

That's great news, @BlueberryPoppy123!

Sunshine8888 · 08/09/2019 14:34

So pleased @BlueberryPoppy123 it’s so lovely to see isn’t it and a great relief. I’m already counting down the days to my next scan! X

BlueberryPoppy123 · 08/09/2019 14:44

@sunshine8888 it is. Probably have about 6 weeks until my next scan :( I just hate at the beginning when you don't have that reassurance of listening to heart beat on a Doppler and you can't feel kicks and there's no certainty everything is ok...

@BlueberryPoppy123 that's so exciting little baba 😁😁😍

What happens when you first tell the GP about your pregnancy? I haven't yet as it's been weekend and they were closed, so they scan before your 12 week mark?

PrincessConsuela12 · 08/09/2019 18:00

@flossy12 Congratulations! I rang my doctor and they booked me in with the midwife, I'll be around 9 weeks by the time I see her x

november90 · 08/09/2019 18:34

So my last period was 6 weeks and 1 day ago... but it was a really long cycle and I only only ovulated 2 weeks and 3 days ago. I downloaded an app which said that makes me 4 weeks and 2 days (obviously looking at my ov date!). Would you guys go by your ov date too if your cycles were as ridiculously long as mine because surely it's not right to saying I'm 6 weeks pregnant when af was only due last Thursday!
I hope this makes sense and everyone is happy and well 💗

mintbear · 08/09/2019 18:39

@flossy12
Same here, I called my gp and they gave me a number for the midwife. My first appointment, known as the booking appointment is at about 8/9 weeks, then I assume they book you in for your 12 week scan.
It's my first so I'm not really sure what to expect either, this group has been really helpful so defo ask qs on here!
Congrats to all the new bfps Smile

mintbear · 08/09/2019 18:40

@november90
My cycle was long after coming off the pill so I've gone from my ovulation date (I was using sticks so it'll be fairly accurate)

FirstTimeMama91 · 08/09/2019 18:41

@november90 I think I would go by ovulation. What about doing a cbd and seeing what it says?

BlueberryPoppy123 · 08/09/2019 18:47

@flossy12 I would just call the Dr surgery and say you've had a positive pregnancy test. Could you have the information to be referred to a midwife and can they log it with your Dr. Some prefer to do that than waste an app for it but if you say that then they will let you know which they prefer. Congratulations

We told my son after our scan. His face was a picture as he worked it out 😍 he would like a sister not a brother though please because if he has a brother that wouldn't be fair having 3 boys in the house and just me as a girl on my own. 🤣

TummyTurtle · 08/09/2019 18:56

@BlueberryPoppy123 awww glad to hear your DD is excited! And how sweet that he wants a sister for you. Are you planning to find out the baby's sex or will it be a surprise for you all?

I am feeling ridiculously bloated atm, and felt very sick this morning. We go on holiday to Greece on Saturday so I am hoping it gets better before then. Stocking up on peppermint tea & bran flakes to see of that helps! Anyone got any tips on minimising bloating?

flossy12 · 08/09/2019 19:12

@PrincessConsuela12 @mintbear @BlueberryPoppy123 you girls 😘👏🏼

That's fine then I'll ring in the morning ☺️

Anyone on here with under active thyroid? No idea if it will affect things or not x

november90 · 08/09/2019 19:51

@mintbear @FirstTimeMama91 thanks for the replies! It definitely makes sense too and that's what the app said too! I did a fb on Thursday and it said 1-2 weeks so that sounds about right too :) I think that give me a rough due day of mid May! Omg 🙈😍😬😀 xx

DaisyRose2 · 08/09/2019 20:12

Lovely scan @BlueberryPoppy123 so it went well!

I'm going to ring the GP this week. Its self referral to midwives but after last time I'll have an immediate referral to the PMH team so that will be through GP at this stage! See midwife 8 weeks ish and then scan 12 weeks ish.

DaisyRose2 · 08/09/2019 20:12

*so glad

AlmostAlwyn · 08/09/2019 20:24

Aww, @BlueberryPoppy123. That's so sweet! How old is he?

I've only said to my 2-year-old, "shall we have another baby? Would that be nice?" and he said "yeah" Grin Any book recommendations for introducing the idea of a sibling to toddlers?

Sunshine8888 · 08/09/2019 20:28

@november90 yes I was 7+2 but pushed back to 5+5 yday at my early scan for that exact reason - so I would say go with ovulation date x
