@BridgetJonesDaiquiri you should check with them how stressful it would be for a prem baby to go through induction and get pushed out as opposed to elcs

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 13/08/2019 17:33

@Hsunshine that's a very good point. Will ask.

DustyDoorframes · 13/08/2019 17:40

Oh bum @BridgetJonesDaiquiri ! That's not ideal! How soon are you due to go on leave? Fingers crossed the consultant comes up with some good options tomorrow. And you don't get kept in!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/08/2019 17:41

How many weeks are you bridget? Hope all ok Flowers

kyles101 · 13/08/2019 17:50

Oh, good luck @BridgetJonesDaiquiri try to get what you can done tonight but without stressing if possible.

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 13/08/2019 18:51

@IVEgottheDECAF I'm 35+1 today. Hoping to be able to hang on in there for a few more weeks..

@DustyDoorframes was due to go on leave next Friday (23rd) when I'd be 36+4, but makes more sense to end this week now.

Anyway will see what tomorrow brings!

happydays00 · 13/08/2019 19:02

Good luck @BridgetJonesDaiquiri - hope all goes well!

@TheCraicDealer - I'll stick around on here even after baby arrives, I'm not on FB and I'm also keen to hear of all the other babies arrivals!

@IVEgottheDECAF how is the pelvis holding up? Anymore signs that baby might be trying to make an early entrance. Are you speaking to your DP yet?

@kyles101 your start to mat leave sounds amazing. I'm so jealous. My DDs Nursery is closed for 2 weeks - the timing literally could not be worse. She's been having horrendous tantrums all week and I am so, so exhausted by it now. She's back in next Tuesday, so hopefully some sort of normality will resume again.

I'm on the app and have forgotten who else said what so will go back out and in again. I've definitely hit some sort of wall today - had to have a 2 hour nap this afternoon and still feel like I'm ready for bed now at 7pm 🤦🏼‍♀️

happydays00 · 13/08/2019 19:07

@Hsunshine I would definitely just see how you feel when you get back and how things are going with the baby. It's probably impossible to say as you will have no idea how you feel after the birth, will depend on your recovery, how feeding is going, how baby is sleeping etc etc . Can you play it by ear?

@Megan2018 my DD is 2.5 and has a Shetland at my mums house. She absolutely adores him and has been riding since she was about 18 months. It's not something we've pushed at all, she is just obsessed with all animals and horses / ponies are definitely the number 1!

db92 · 13/08/2019 19:17

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri fingers crossed for you that all goes well tomorrow when monitored Smile

I made the mistake of weighing myself today Confused big big mistake

happydays00 · 13/08/2019 19:29

OMG @db92 why did you do that?! I accidentally caught sight of my weight about 6 weeks ago at a hospital appointment and I was just 😱😱😱

boodles101 · 13/08/2019 19:30

bridgetjonesdaquiri if it is OC they can try and control it with meds so doesn't necessarily mean they will get baby out asap. My friend had it from about 30weeks and has continuous monitoring.

Just had my 2nd steroid injection, this MW did it in my leg and not my bum so didn't sting as much! She did all my observations and everything is normal so says the way I've felt last night and today is probs reaction to the steroid, but seeing as it's already in my system then 2nd one shouldn't affect me as bad. 🤞 She said I had ketones in my urine so I need a bit dinner, so stopped off for some fish and chips! Already have heartburn anyway so no point trying to eat something to avoid it!

BimbleBamble · 13/08/2019 19:46

Thought I'd check in, how's everyone doing?!
2 and a half weeks of work and 1 wedding to get through before I can actually stop and put my feet up, I had no idea it was possible to be this tired!
I've reached the size where other women give me that sympathetic knowing look as a waddle around now.
Also does anyone else feel like their bellybutton/surrounding area is bruised? Super weird feeling especially when standing up.....I'm going to add it to my long list of weird/rubbish pregnancy symptoms no one told me about!

BBell2 · 13/08/2019 19:52

@challengeyourreality, you are right on the Chech republic, Bulgaria etc. I'd like her to learn, I've tried and I'm not confident
I just dont believe DH has any concept yet on how holidays are when they have to be taken in actual holidays! Or the reality of maintaining childcare whilst one of us isnt paid. All round delusional.

db92 · 13/08/2019 19:59

@happydays00 because I'm a complete idiot! I've been curious for a while how I I was getting on with weight gain. Wish I'd not checked now with 3 , possibly 4 weeks to go I know it's only going to get higher too!!

DustyDoorframes · 13/08/2019 20:01

@boodles101 get thee to the chippy! Lots of big conversations being had with consultants tomorrow- fingers tightly crossed for all of them.
Have you had your first lot of steroids @Stroan ? Fingers crossed your blood sugars are not going too loopy.
Or have I knocked a day off you again???
@BridgetJonesDaiquiri yeah it does sound like mat leave time, doesn't it... are work being reasonable about it all?
@kyles101 you are definitely bossing mat leave! Hope the nap was lovely! Well deserved with your work boss being such a twit about it all.
Back at work tomorrow after my hols- and a massive amount of ends to tie up over the next few weeks. And I still need to get my head round what we do and don't need to get organised at home. Urgh. These babies turning up are a reality check!!
I'm due on the 30th sept so fully expecting to be popping over to postnatal to keep up with you all by then (I'm not a facebooker...)

Karigan195 · 13/08/2019 20:05

I’m actually losing weight. Sick to death of the GD diet 🤦‍♀️

Been getting ketones in my urine too but just got told that’ll happen when you switch to this diet. Yesterday I got so fed up of the same bland choices I didn’t even meet normal calories. Actually cooked dinner and put it down again because I couldn’t stand any more eggs meat and brown rice.

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/08/2019 20:05

I'm not a facebooker either, hopefully we will have a postnatal group on here that lasts!

Happydays The pelvis is sore and stiff just trying to take it easy! DP and i are partially talking.....

We dont own scales so no weighing here!

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/08/2019 20:07

Karigan that sounds really shit.

Stroan · 13/08/2019 20:23

@DustyDoorframes yep, had them about 2pm. Stingy! Weirdly I'm on the labour ward so they can monitor really closely, so it's quiet but I keep hearing babies being born! Getting a bit freaked out that I have to have one this week.

@karigan195 I'm so with you, I had found some nice stuff on the GDUK website but got so bored of it that I've eaten chicken Kiev's for the last 3 nights. Couldn't even be bothered thinking about something else. Also couldn't really be bothered cooking.

I've not lost weight but haven't put any on in 4 months. And the baby is big so I'm assuming that I have actually lost. I take weekly bump pics and the difference in my face, arms, legs and even feet has been quite stark at times. I'm sure I'll undo that quickly with the contents of my post-delivery snack bag.

Great news on DHs job @boodles101 celebratory fish and chips sound perfect!

@bridgetjonesdaiquiri fingers crossed for good news. Otherwise, it's a brilliant week to have a September baby Wink

I'll be hanging round for the postnatal thread. I am on Facebook and loved my antenatal group with DD but also got a bit addicted post birth. Instead of finding real life support I relied a bit too heavily on the (lovely) people in my phone.

Karigan195 · 13/08/2019 20:31

Yes that’s it exactly Stroan. I just cannot be bothered cooking as it’s the same bland tasteless stuff everyday :(

Good luck on that labour ward :) nlt long for you at all now!

DustyDoorframes · 13/08/2019 20:31

Oooh @Stroan so are you sat in an actual Giving Birth Room??? That must feel very odd!!! Going to sleep will be interesting... I was stuck in one briefly with DC1 before being admitted to the antenatal ward with preeclampsia, so they could assess me, but I had no clue what was going on. Me and DP were looking at each other thinking "shit, is this all about to happen NOW? Here? In this very room??"

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/08/2019 20:40

I was once put on labour ward at 16 weeks pregnant as i was bleeding on a bank holiday and they were very short staffed. Strange experience!

Stroan · 13/08/2019 20:46

@karigan195 I've been eating loads of curries and chilli, getting pretty good results. The GD Korma is good, and the Spice Tailor curry kits work well for me if I add coconut milk. It sucks though.

@DustyDoorframes yes, there's a crib ready in the corner! It's identical to the room I was in for DDs birth but I can't remember anything about the ward outside. So bizarre. I feel like a fraud taking up a room but I guess they must have the space

DustyDoorframes · 13/08/2019 20:51

Oh that's up to them re the space, if they are pushed they'll sort it out stroan! Haha I remember the crib spooked us big time. Its REAL. There's going to be a real baby who is going to sleep right there! (On Friday...)
decaf that must have been totally bizarre at 16 weeks!

Puglover88 · 13/08/2019 21:22

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri hope it goes well tomorrow 😊

@boodles101 that’s good that your obs were all normal today - hope you enjoyed the fish and chips!

@BimbleBamble my belly button doesn’t feel bruised but it does feel numb like there’s no feeling there!

I really feel for all the GD ladies on this thread - it’s just not fair that you have the added burden of diet watching on top of all the other shit! The end is in sight though and then you can eat all the crap you want!

I’ve had a whole day of Braxton hicks and fanny daggers today - oh the joys! 😩
