He's absolutely gorgeous @Karigan195!

NotwhereIshouldbe · 23/08/2019 15:07

Ahhh what a gorgeous photo @Karigan195! Can’t wait to meet my little one now ☺️

kyles101 · 23/08/2019 15:10

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri that's really interesting, thanks for that. Deffo something to bear in mind if I think there may be issues it's nice to know there potentially could be a choice. It's always seemed so archaic to go by an arbitrary date regardless of the child. My November brother struggled actually, he was (is!) immature whereas my November sister absolutely fine. September babies - I blame all that Christmas cheer 😉

@IVEgottheDECAF sorry stabby steps made me laugh. Is it because baby is low down? At least that means an end may be in sight? (Hoping for you!!)

Ow @Karigan195 he's such a cutie!! Do you just stare at him allllll day long? How are you doing? Recovering well?

sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops · 23/08/2019 15:18

Hi ladies!

I've missed several threads now so I've got lots of catching up to do! Congratulations to those who have had babies already!!

I'm due 16/9/19 but have my ELCS booked for 9/9/19 although I'm not convinced it will actually happen then! I went to clinic this week to be booked in and was told they were completely fully booked for 2 weeks and have had to be added on as an extra (there are already several extras each day!) Confused

Been told baby is fully engaged & have been having lots of cramping for the last week or so. Hopefully it'll stay put until the ELCS which is to be done under GA so I especially don't want anything to happen early as I'd have to wait to fast before it! I'm not at all prepared & haven't packed a bag or anything yet so probably should!

DD (just turned 2) was due in July (had c section a little early due to medical issues) and we've just been asked by nursery if she can be moved up to the pre-preschool room (we were originally told she'd move 2.5 at earliest-3) but socially she's more on track with the older children as her speech/understanding is very good & she's met their little syllabus of knowing shapes/colours/counting etc. I know she's only 2 so things very well may change but it just shows that birthday doesn't necessarily dictate everything!

Dyra · 23/08/2019 15:19

Awww Karigan. He looks scrumptious. 🥰

I'm a mid-summer baby and I did great at school. Not so great in the real world, but at school I did much better than my siblings (Sep, Mar, Apr, Jun).

That being said, I'm still hoping for a Sept/Oct baby. Only 8 days to go though. Pretty sure baby is going to stay put for at least that long.

DustyDoorframes · 23/08/2019 16:14

Awww @Karigan195 you know how to please a thread full of pregnant women! So gorgeous!
I'm supposed to be working from home and failing. Too tired, can't concentrate, a bit hot, and none of our chairs are comfy enough for a day at a desk. Moan groan.

DustyDoorframes · 23/08/2019 16:15

Proving my own point re concentrating...
@Florencenotflo I hope you've a babe in your arms and all is going super well! I'm taking no news to mean you were first on the list!

Megan2018 · 23/08/2019 16:48

Final growth scan done at 37+1, still on track as before. Currently estimated at 6lb 6 and on track for about 8lb. All measurements normal so no more appointments or scans apart from MW until induction at 40wks.

She still looks the same on the photo too, same position, head down and looking to my right 😍

Congratulations @Karigan195 - what a little sweetheart!

My 19 month old has been poorly a couple of days and it's most likely chickenpox but no spots have appeared yet so can't be sure. We have a little holiday booked next week so that is all possibly to be cancelled.

Might be good timing to get it out of the way before baby is due (I'm 36 weeks today) but if it's early baby is at risk. Just a bit gutted about the timing and super tired from being up in the night with him the last 2 nights (DH working his socks off as self employed and trying to tie up ends pre hols so can't share the night get ups).

Also means I can't risk seeing a very close friend and meet her baby (long planned) on our hols. Baby is only 6 weeks and we won't know for sure it's not chickenpox due to the incubation period. Was so looking forward to that.

Hols aren't exotic by the way! Just to Gloucestershire from Yorkshire.

Florencenotflo · 23/08/2019 18:42

Baby Lois was born at 15:40 today weighing 8lbs 15oz.

I will do a picture later, currently having lovely skin to skin and cuddles. She is perfect though. C section was great if a little odd, so relaxed compared to my emcs with dd.

Very happy if a little bit tired!

DustyDoorframes · 23/08/2019 18:48

Aaaaah @Florencenotflo brilliant news! Huge congratulations! And lovely name.

@SJP3 what a pain re the pox! Better now than in a month or so?? Hopefully it will pass quick- as soon as they scan over they stop being contagious, which will be soon if not many spots.

Stroan · 23/08/2019 19:14

Huge congratulations @florencenotflo lovely name. Enjoy all that oxytocin!

boodles101 · 23/08/2019 19:21

Huge congrats Florencenotflo love the name Lois. You will be tired after today so make sure you get lots of rest and take it easy getting out of bed tomorrow, don't be passing out like I did!

Csection ladies stroan happydays and others, how's your recovery going? What's your incision like? I get my dressing taken off tomorrow so interested to see what it looks like! Feel like I'm walking upright today too.

Stroan · 23/08/2019 19:45

@boodles101 all good here! I am certain that I've recovered better than with DDs vaginal birth. I had a special dressing that vacuum sealed the incision and it was removed yesterday. Looks pretty well sealed to me and zero pain. Coughing is hard though!

I've been pretty pleased with the whole thing, the only bad day was the first full day in hospital.

happydays00 · 23/08/2019 20:11

Huge congratulations @Florencenotflo - what a little darling! You too @Karigan195 - he's so cute!

@boodles101 - as of yesterday (the one week mark) I'm feeling pretty excellent. For me the pain was bad for days 1 - 2, ok days 3 - 6 and basically fine day 7. Today I have started doing more: cooked dinner, hung washing out etc so whilst I'm hardly running marathons I'm starting to feel more "normal". Hoping I might be able to start sleeping on my side tonight (as I'm struggling to sleep properly on my back and propped up).

@Stroan coughing is horrible and so is sneezing. I actually let out an involuntary whimper of "oh fuuuuuck" when I sneezed in the hospital 😬

NotwhereIshouldbe · 23/08/2019 20:38

@Florencenotflo Congratulations! And what a lovely name! Hope you and Lois are doing well 💖

boodles101 · 23/08/2019 20:43

stroan yes I think recovery for me please is better than forceps with my son. I also had a pressure dressing but they took that off the day after. I haven't needed to cough or sneeze yet, but DH made me laugh earlier and that hurt alot!
Happydays I'll be day 5 tomorrow so looking forward to day 7 onwards.i managed to sleep on my side last night for a bit but it took me an age to get there and back again. I held a pillow on my belly as I turned.

easterbuns1 · 23/08/2019 20:59

Congratulations @Florencenotflo!

Stroan · 23/08/2019 21:13

@happydays00 @boodles101 I slept half on my side the other night and when I rolled back it felt like all my insides moved around. It wasn't pleasant!

Hsunshine · 23/08/2019 21:27

People who’ve had babies before. When the baby drops does it mean baby might actually come soon?

Also, is someone making a new thread? (I don’t know how)

SJP3 · 23/08/2019 21:57

@Hsunshine I dropped weeks and weeks before I gave birth to DS1 who was born at 41 weeks. I've just dropped a couple of days ago and had read that with subsequent pregnancies, it can be a sign that it's all starting but I posted about it on another thread. A midwife told me not to get too excited - could still be weeks! Hope that helps.

Dyra · 23/08/2019 22:11

Congratulations @Florencenotflo! 🥳 Can't wait to see little Lois. Were you second on the list in the end?

Are vacuum dressings common in your trust @Stroan? They're very fancy and not often used outside of orthopedics in my trust. I'm very intrigued.

Good to hear all your recoveries are going well.

Megan2018 · 23/08/2019 22:19

Many congratulations @Florencenotflo
Lovely name! Hope you are both doing well x

Puglover88 · 23/08/2019 22:21

@Florencenotflo congratulations! Hope you’re enjoying all those cuddles and recovering well! X
