@Moraxella thank you, unfortunately out of all of those it's the dark blue I'd go for and that's not one of the cheap ones 😂 I've got the bright red one now.

@challengeyourreality I think I just need to get over it. It's a pram at the end of the day. We'll be moving baby into an umbrella stroller by about a year anyway.

@BBell2 thank you, I'll have a look but i'll probably just crack on with this one. Like I said, we'll be swapping to something more lightweight by 12 months no doubt.

@boodles101 that's a great photo they managed to get. Do you want your section brought forward?

Stroan · 12/08/2019 20:24

@thecraicdealer I really want a fox! But our Chameleon is in perfect condition after 3 years of use so really couldn't justify it. I must also be one of the rare people who didn't ever swap to an umbrella stroller. We didn't get one until we went on holiday when DD was 18 months. Absolutely detest the thing. I can push and steer a toddler in bugaboo with one hand, the stroller is like a hard gym session in comparison. So you might get your moneys worth out of the fox.

Love your nursery prints too, I'm a big fan of cute prints.

@boodles101 not great news on the growth (although could still be innacurate) but I am pleased they are moving your section. Did they give you any idea of timescale?

Florencenotflo · 12/08/2019 20:25

@boodles101 that is a lot of baby in there! Are you pleased they've moved the section up?

@Horehound could it be carpal tunnel? I also thought I'd dodged stretch marks this time around but they've started popping up on my bump. Thankfully the ones I got with dd have faded to nothing now so hopefully these will too.

It's a general girly boho vibe we're going for- I splurged on an Aden + Anais paisley blanket for her cot and just sort of based it around that. I got some nice Jungle Book storage baskets from Cath Kidston for her changing unit as well for shoving nappies and wipes etc in.

I thought I'd go mad with the pink when we found out she was a girl, but actually I haven't bought anything pinker than the coral walls!

Ok that makes me feel marginally better @challengeyourreality Grin I think we'll collect the pram at the end of the month- that's still the guts of a month before I'm due so I'm sure I'll be sick of tripping over it!

@Florencenotflo the Pioneer is a great pram and that beige is nice. DSis has a Wayfarer and it was really nice to use when DNeice was little. Hope you can get another spare fabric pack somewhere though, it does make it feel "new" doesn't it?

TheCraicDealer · 12/08/2019 20:30

@Stroan was it you that got your chameleon reconditioned by Bugaboo? Brilliant idea. I didn't know they did that so have stored that nugget of info away for future reference!

boodles101 · 12/08/2019 20:30

They haven't moved it yet, I've got to wait and see what my consultant decides on Wednesday. But midwife seemed to think it would be likely hence why they've given me the steroids. I would still prefer to wait til next week when I'll be past 36 weeks (considered full term for twins) but definitely happier than waiting til 38 weeks!!

DustyDoorframes · 12/08/2019 20:32

Crikey @boodles101 , looks like you are getting your wish of a sooner birth date then, albeit not for quite the hoped for reasons!! What is the next step for decision making? Do you have another scan booked imminently?
@happydays00 last day before baby tomorrow!!! Eep!!
And @Stroan are you in for your steroids at the mo? How is the antenatal ward? Hopefully you are getting some peace!

boodles101 · 12/08/2019 20:42

dusty no other scan booked but guess the consultant could book another if he wants.
Stroan I'm not too worried about the weights as they are decent weights for twins, plus the last scan I had that put her at 50th centile was the one which the consultant wasn't happy with anyway, so I'm guessing that one was the inaccurate one. Good luck for your steroids tonight and stay on the ward - can't say the steroid injection tickles! It did also give me a headache pretty quickly after so maybe don't panic if you get one too.

challengeyourreality · 12/08/2019 20:42

@Florencenotflo I had many stretch marks with my 2nd preg but this time I have been very careful about my diet and so far I don't think there is too much more damage, if any. The old stretch marks are shiny and translucent - some might be stretching a bit more as the tips seems slightly purple in some light but I can't tell and I'm not worried about it, I'm just so grateful that I am having a baby, it's such a gift

EllebellyBeeblebrox · 12/08/2019 20:57

Had the delightful experience of running down a sand dune after my dcs today, whilst wetting myself Blush luckily had only had a wee about 20 mins previous so wasn't a full on disaster. I swore this time I would do my pelvic floor exercises, is it too late now?! Hope you're all having comfortable evenings

kyles101 · 12/08/2019 21:06

Boo to the varicose veins - I'm with you @Florencenotflo and would deffo consider getting them done once we're done with popping out children.

@BBell2 your dh is hilarious! Misplaced nesting!!

@Horehound that's gonna confuse me!! Slap me every time I ask where whisky is!! Doesn't look like they go away love, stuck with em or get em zapped by the sounds of it. My thighs have gone so lumpy, they're awful. You've done well to get this far without stretch marks, I've got a few of those on the way too. Being without transport where I live would be my worst nightmare, it's why I want to avoid a c section at all costs.

Yay for earlier date @boodles101 - hmm if you're seeing consultant on Wednesday hopefully it'll give you enough of a breather to get to 36 weeks? Do they move that quickly to do it the same week?

Got most of the jobs I wanted done today, plus a nap and a couple of loads of washing. Think I've pulled something though 😬 nice day tomorrow visiting an old school friend.

Florencenotflo · 12/08/2019 21:34

It's funny isn't it, I'm not really into clothes, make up etc but I've always said that once I'm done having kids I'd definitely have my veins done. But, I'd also have a boob lift if they did go south Blush not in the near future, I couldn't justify the money but maybe in 10 years I'd give myself a bit of an overhaul 😂 call it my midlife crisis!

OP posts:
happydays00 · 12/08/2019 22:15

@kyles101 my thighs have gone super bumpy too!!! No stretch marks but slowly starting to get more bumpy and swollen.

@DustyDoorframes I've got tomorrow and Wednesday (thankfully!!!) as I really do need the two days to finish prepping everything! I still need to pick up the car seat too which I keep forgetting 🤦🏼‍♀️

@boodles101 I remember you said 36 + something would be your ideal eviction date so I hope that materialises! Excellent weights for twins there!! You must just be so uncomfortable I cannot imagine it. Do you still have that numb / sore patch under your ribs? Mine has come back and it really is bloody uncomfortable.

@Stroan hope all goes well with the steroids and ward stay and you do not miss your DD too much.

Love the pram chat - I would so love the fox but like @Stroan there is nothing wrong with my chameleon so have banned myself from even looking at the Fox (or any others for that matter!!)

happydays00 · 12/08/2019 22:16

@Florencenotflo I'm so with you! Don't want bigger boobs but would love them to be closer to my collar bones than my belly button 😂

Florencenotflo · 12/08/2019 22:19

@happydays00 exactly! I wouldn't go any bigger but just a bit more perk would be good!

OP posts:
kyles101 · 12/08/2019 22:23

Maybe we could get a group discount on the lifts? 😂

Megan2018 · 12/08/2019 22:24

We finally got the replacement part of our pram last week from John Lewis. Just need to order car seat now. Then our only remaining purchase is a baby monitor.

We went for this pram in the end after a lot of agonising!

Horehound · 12/08/2019 22:26

@Florencenotflo yeh I did wonder about carpal tunnel. Need to do more research.

@kyles101 yes I know, I like to confuse everyone.. sorry! I Can't seem to change my name now without using my googlemail password but there's no option to select the account on the profile page so not sure how to do it.
I think I'll go down the road of a tummy tuck and boob job once I'm finished having children although at the moment I think I'm set for just 1!!

challengeyourreality · 12/08/2019 22:41

I would consider cosmetic work but not silicone implants, my friend had a terrible time with hers and there have been lots of stories in the media about complications after those surgeries. If there was some natural shaping possible I'd def be in but then again there is the procedure to go through and I don't really want put under anaesthetic. To be honest my body is not bad especially in clothes and I'm never going to be a super model or have to flaunt my naked body publicly so it'll probably stay as it is. Until they invent some non invasive, natural procedures.

challengeyourreality · 12/08/2019 22:42

That's a nice one @Megan2018

Stroan · 12/08/2019 23:03

@thecraicdealer it wasn't by Bugaboo, just a buggy servicing place I found. Bugaboo have amazing customer service though. They replaced our chassis when it was a tiny bit loose - I think my changing bag was too heavy for it.

Your nursery sounds lovely. I had loads of nice prints in ours but DD demanded them. She was most upset that the baby was getting HER pictures. So she has them all and baby boy has a massive wooden sign with his name on.

@horehound I get a bit twitchy if I've not left the house or seen another adult for a few days too. It's all lovely in theory, but SO boring.

@DustyDoorframes @happydays00 @boodles101 I'm not in yet, have a scan/consultant appointment tomorrow then I'll stay in. Was SO upset putting DD to bed tonight (plus she was a monster) and now wondering if I should have listened to all the people who keep telling me I should leave her more.

On the plus side, I've got Kindle books and audio books galore to get me through two days on the ward. And earplugs!

I've developed spider veins on my nose since I got pregnant. How is that possible? I'm really not bothered about appearance but I want them gone. And maybe the deep groove between my eyebrows too.

My stretch marks now have stretch marks. My stomach looks like graph paper. I've had them since I was 11, so I really cant get too bothered about them.

boodles101 · 13/08/2019 03:26

Definitely been awake for last few hours with lots of Braxton Hicks. Not painful but uncomfortable enough to keep me awake. There's not much of a pattern but maximum every 8 mins.
Unsure if this is just a reaction to the steroid injection or something more! My heartburn is ridiculous too despite drinking loads of gaviscon!

challengeyourreality · 13/08/2019 07:20

@boodles101 perhaps a spontaneous labour after all!

Moraxella · 13/08/2019 07:39

Just reading the pushy parent thread on aibu. Oh my life. Just enrolled mini-mix for two languages, two sports and an instrument (triangle). Busy morning! 😂

Has anyone had Botox? How much was it? I’ve got a permanent V furrowed into my brow from being too disapproving-looking. I wouldn’t call myself vain, but I do get lots of comments about looking permanently confused and I’d like to experiment to see if this makes me look less so 😬
