horehound congrats! Well done you! Sounds like a tough slog! 110% worth it though i am sure!

Amazing news on max happydays!

DustyDoorframes · 21/08/2019 12:35

Wahay @Horehound !!!! He is gorgeous!
51 hours! You absolute trooper! You must be so exhausted!

DustyDoorframes · 21/08/2019 12:36

PS- @Horehound we knew you could do it, and you DID IT! Amazing lady that you are!

Fortheloveofscience · 21/08/2019 12:36

Congratulations horehound, what a cutie! 51 hours sounds horrendous, hope you manage to get a good sleep.

That is truly wonderful news happydays I’m so pleased to hear Max is doing so well.

Feel like I’m hugely lost with who’s doing what, just about keeping up with the birth announcements. Going to have to scroll back for a full catch up when my leave starts next week!

easterbuns1 · 21/08/2019 12:36

Congratulations @Horehound he is beautiful.

Great news about Max @happydays00

@boodles101 sounds like the twins are doing great, well done!

Can't believe we have so many babies already!

Have every sympathy for all the gd mums, I thought I had a good understanding of diabetes with my background but it sounds like it's a hard slog for a lot of you, I don't envy you at all. The only way I can get through my sickness is with very plain carbs and sugar.

I've got mw tomorrow which I assume will be my last appointment before baby arrives but not much else to report. Older ones are now back to school so it's the calm before the new baby.

kyles101 · 21/08/2019 12:49

@happydays00 that's fabulous news!! And what a good boy max is taking all of that milk overnight!! He has a milk hangover by the sounds of it this morning!!

@DustyDoorframes does fibre slow down the carb release thingy? Perhaps why chickpeas aren't as bad as beans... I think I read that somewhere... but it might be baby brain bs 🤷‍♀️

I can get away with a jacket if it's about the size of my fist and lots of butter. Jacket sweet potatoes are lovely though, can highly recommend. Oooh, might have a tuna mayo and cheese (sorry!) jacket for dinner tonight - yum!

@Horehound congratulations!!! Well done you! You did it!! Knew you wouldn't just stay pregnant forever 😉 he is so beautiful!! You made that! 51 hours, you need a medal!

Enjoy the calm @easterbuns1 - the rate these babies are appearing it won't last long!

Dipsy77 · 21/08/2019 12:50

Congratulations #horehound he is beautiful Smile

RonaldWeasley · 21/08/2019 12:56

Congratulations @Horehound, he's absolutely gorgeous. Hope you get a bit of rest now x

boodles101 · 21/08/2019 13:11

Huge congrats horehound we all knew you could do it! He looks absolutely gorgeous. Now get some rest!!

Happydays pain much better today thanks, still only taking paracetamol and the MWs are being quite sparing with it too. Got alot of wind trapped and I'm nervous for my first poo! I'll be surprised if we get home today seeing as no one has even been to see us yet. Hoping my milk comes in soon.

We have so many August babies for a September group!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/08/2019 13:15

Lets hope the babies keep arriving promptly ...... 38 weeks tomorrow

Tefiti2 · 21/08/2019 13:27

Oh @Horehound that sounds absolutely exhausting - but you’re a mum, how amazing!! He is just beautiful, hope you get lots of sleep x

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 21/08/2019 13:35

Massive congrats @Horehound! 51 hours you trooper, you did it! Hope you're able to rest up now and get some much needed shut eye.

Been for DAU today (all fine), growth scan and seen consultant. Growth all fine and she's measuring 6lb 12oz at 36+2, which is broadly similar to her sister who measured 6lb 11oz at 36+4 and was 7lb 9oz when she was born at 39+3, so taking the measurements with a slight pinch of salt. Induction booked in for a week on Saturday at 37+5 (31/08 😱) but may be brought forward if needed. Getting close now!

Puglover88 · 21/08/2019 13:50

@Horehound congratulations you did it! He’s gorgeous and you did so well! Enjoy your well earned sleep whilst you can! Xxx

iano · 21/08/2019 14:13

Congratulations @Horehound! He's lovely. Hope you can get some rest now.

Dyra · 21/08/2019 14:34

Congratulations @Horehound! 🥳 Gorgeous little chappy you have there.

Megan2018 · 21/08/2019 14:35

Induction booked for due date, 12 Sept!
Diabetes clinic don’t want to see me again, very happy with readings. One more scan on Friday so assuming that is fine then it is just a 3 week wait.

kyles101 · 21/08/2019 14:39

Ooh properly on the countdown now the. @Megan2018 !!

Megan2018 · 21/08/2019 15:13

Different consultant and she gave me the option to go over 40! But I am worried about age factor so would prefer 40wks. Of course, she might come before that anyway. Who knows!!

BimbleBamble · 21/08/2019 15:35

@horehound massive congratulations, and well done on what sounds like a super tough marathon labour! Hope the cuddles are making up for it!

We need someone to do a baby arrival chart synopsis at the start of the next thread so we can catch up! 5 weeks still to go here!

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 21/08/2019 15:56

I'm away helping on a summer camp atm (I say helping.... mostly sitting watching other people do it and trying to keep an eye on DD!) and can't believe how many babies we've got! Congratulations to all :)

Moraxella · 21/08/2019 16:52

@boodles101 when you say the midwives are giving you paracetamol sparingly, I hope it's enough and guided by you? If not please please ask for pain relief, it's major abdominal surgery and it drives me mad when I go and see the post-CS ladies and they're in agony despite me prescribing them (and explaining to them) the 3/4/5 day routine of pain relief I have prescribed. and turns out the midwives just haven't given it.

Also - peppermint water is good for the trapped wind - so if you need a hand with that just ask for it (it might need to be prescribed but they must have some on the PN ward, it's quite common to be given after CS and colorectal surgery etc)

as for @Horehound - I feel like you to be nominated on the silent pool mumsnetter thread! :-D

Stroan · 21/08/2019 17:01

@moraxella are you an aneasthetist? Mine were incredible and really made my birth experience so positive. I hadn't realised how important they would be.

The midwives hadn't told me I was allowed liquid morphine regularly, I'd been sitting patiently waiting for the drug round until one of the aneasthetists came and saw me struggling.

@horehound congratulations and well done. What a beautiful little squish! Hope you are getting the chance to rest and recover, sleep is so important and newborns don't do anything anyway!

boodles101 · 21/08/2019 17:23

Thanks moraxella I'm doing well pain wise, it's been very busy here today so it's just been longer between doses. I brought peppermint teabags in with me as heard it helped with the wind and it has. We have finally been discharged so just having a feed then we are off home!

Horehound · 21/08/2019 17:53

I've still not slept but i just came on to say my husband corrected me to say it was a 72 hour Labour!!! Shock

I'm.hopefully being released from hospital tonight. Can't wait to get my boy home!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 21/08/2019 18:11

Ladies remind me, will I need to pack a towel for post-labour shower? I think I did last time but can't remember for sure.
