Hey

@stroan oh congratulations! What a beautiful little bundle.

I had a rough night, contractions all through night some 3 or 4 mins apart and very painful but have totally slowed down again. Think I've had 45 mins sleep tops.
My TENS machine broke not long after I posted about it! I'm finding baths very relaxing and I don't have many contractions when im in the bath which i know is just delaying everything but I'm glad of the break. I was so tired this morning I got 3 lots of 15 mins sleep between contractions. That's it. Feeling pretty wrecked.
I then went for a wee before my bath and I think I lost all of my mucus plug.
Still got my waters though.
Gona call midwives this morning for advice

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/08/2019 08:19

Hang on in there horehound! You can do it!

Tefiti2 · 19/08/2019 08:28

Oh @Horehound you sound like you are managing amazingly on such little sleep! Definitely call the MW and ask them to pop round to see what advice they can offer!

Stroan · 19/08/2019 08:34

@boodles101 good luck today, you get to meet TWO babies!

@happydays00 that's great news, well done little Max!

@karigan195 that sounds terrifying. Have they offered you a debrief and some post natal support? In the meantime, kangaroo care sounds just like what you all need.

@megan2018 @happydays00 yeah, the hypos stopped immediately. No more testing! I feel a bit validated though because despite the consultant and diabetic nurses insisting my numbers were great, the aneasthetists weren't happy with how low they were before and during the ELCS. I had to get glucose gels squirted into my mouth!

@knobjockey if it helps, R was predicted to be 7.5lbs and was 8.5lbs a week later. So far he's worn DDs stuff which was up to 1 month but possibly shrunk in the wash. And another up to 1 month outfit from Mothercare which fitted well. We don't have anything in newborn size bit I don't think he really needs it.

@florencenotflo oh the cuddles! I'd forgotten the cuddles when they are still all tucked up and they just rest on your chest like a wee frog. If I could hold him like that all day without falling asleep, I would. Babies cannot be cuddled too much.

boodles101 · 19/08/2019 08:41

Great news about Max happydays

Thanks for all the good luck wishes. I'm so excited this morning!! Thought I'd be really nervous but I just can't wait to see them now. Had a lovely normal morning with my son and just dropped him to nursery, now just going to potter around til I have to be at hospital.

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/08/2019 08:51

What time do you go in boodles?

boodles101 · 19/08/2019 08:55

Got to be there at 11am and then I'll find out where I am in the list. Hoping I'm first but they need twice the staff available so all depends on that.

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/08/2019 08:58

So exciting!

Id love a date. Im not in to surprises.

Lots of discharge this morning and few mild cramps

DustyDoorframes · 19/08/2019 09:08

@boodles101 that sounds very civilised! You are bossing having twins so far! Surely they will want to get you out of the way ASAP to free up the staff??
@happydays00 yay re Max!! That sounds very positive! How's your DD taking it all??
@Exitstrategist I'm hoping for a home birth (although I'm guessing GD puts a large spanner in those works...), but tubal ligation is definitely tempting. I really enjoyed my first two pregnancies but this one has been much harder, I'm not bloody doing this again. And I've got my doubts re coping with 3, let alone more!
@Stroan @Karigan195 froggy newborn cuddles!!!! That's definitely what I'm in the market for!
@Karigan195 that just sounds unutterably terrifying- those 6 minutes! It might be nothing to do with the long labour, but it does sound like asking for a debrief would be a very good idea. So so glad you are snuggling up now.
@Horehound definitely time to ring the midwives, they can give you some coping strategies, and hopefully things will speed up soon anyway. I hope you haven't send your DH to work!!!
@Fortheloveofscience V glad you and your DP are on the same page now. Phew!
Crikey, i can barely keep up with the thread, I don't know how you facebookers manage to keep on top of both!!

Ooh and paging @IVEgottheDECAF as a level 5 Mum! DD (3) has got threadworm aaaaargh!!! Have you had to cope with that at any point? I can't worm myself so going to have to go into some kind of hygiene overdrive which makes me want to weep, with the amount of stuff which needs doing anyway. Argh.

DustyDoorframes · 19/08/2019 09:10

Oooh decaf good signs???

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/08/2019 09:16

Oh gosh Dusty, by some miracle none of mine have ever had it! Things like that dont seem to like my dc! We only ever had nits twice in 11 years!

db92 · 19/08/2019 09:16

Congratulations to all who have had there babies over the last few days! It's so lovely seeing all the pictures and makes me even more exited for my turn. @Stroan and @Karigan195 I hope you're all settling in well at home

That's great news that Max has moved to the next room @happydays00 . Fingers crossed you'll have him home with you by the weekend

Good luck today @boodles101 Smile

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/08/2019 09:25

Hopefully good signs but probably nothing!

TwittleBee · 19/08/2019 09:53

Aww there have been babies! Congratulations!

happydays I am so relieved your little one is recovering well and moved into the next room, best of luck!

karigan that is bloomin terrifying and sorry you had to experience that. Best of luck on a debrief.

stroan soooooo snug!!

boodles good luck today, hope you dont have to wait too long for your turn! Twins!

Good luck to those in labour and I hope those who arent don't have to wait too long until they are too (although obviously not pre term please ladies!)

lots of love

DustyDoorframes · 19/08/2019 11:13

Decaf in that case I definitely need to take notes from your household management! The pharmacist was very meh about it and didn't think I needed to bother with total hygiene lockdown which is reassuring because there is 0 chance of me deep cleaning the entire house as well as washing everything in it over the next couple of days, and DP is massively up against it with work so can't either...

Twittle! Super lovely to see you here! You are made of STRONG stuff!!!

Oooh boodles must be at the hospital by now. Thinking of you!!!

KLane · 19/08/2019 11:18

So nice to see your username pop up @TwittleBee ! How are you?

boodles101 · 19/08/2019 11:24

Thanks twittlebee so lovely to hear from you, hope you and your family are doing ok.

I've settled into my private room at hospital now and I'm first on the list so will be heading down around 1.30. nerves are starting to build now!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/08/2019 11:28

Omg boodles you are about to become mama of 3!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 19/08/2019 11:29

@TwittleBee great to hear from you! Hope you're doing ok lovely xx

@boodles101 best of luck!! xx

BimbleBamble · 19/08/2019 11:34

Good luck @boodles! Double the cuddles coming your way this afternoon!

@twittle lovely to see you back here and hope you are doing ok and having some better sleep and rest now, been thinking about you lots

On the two week count down for finishing work, officially only 6 days left in the office including today, I think it's going to stag so much. Can't wait to be able to fully rest and focus on little ones arrival!

Karigan195 · 19/08/2019 11:46

Good luck Boodles :)

Twittlebee I hope you are doing ok.

iano · 19/08/2019 13:38

Good luck @boodles101!

Horehound · 19/08/2019 13:56

@boodles101 good luck! You'll be going down now! Very exciting.

My husband went to get me a new TENS machine and honestly, makes everything better.
Mum and dad popped in too, to collect their dog, so actually was a nice distraction.

Been sitting on my ball and I'm finding that a relief rather than the sofa or bed.

Midwife coming at 4/4.30 cause I asked her to check on me. Maybe she can tell.me how dilated I am.

One thing about the mucus plug loss...it absolutely basically fell out of me and went straight into toilet and was about to go down the bend when I told my husband to look at it. It was like a grey trail of fibrous mush. So I thought that was the plug. And also had small about of blood on my pad.
But then a few hours later went to toilet again and that's when I saw the jelly like stuff, a but like ovulation, which I believe is the plug. So wtf was the first thing?!

Florencenotflo · 19/08/2019 14:13

With dd mine was huge @Horehound and sorry if TMI but I could feel it coming out. Managed to go to the loo and catch it. It was gross 😂 but you may even find that there is more to come. So exciting for you though!

OP posts:
Horehound · 19/08/2019 14:19

Ah ok might find more to come then although first but did seem rather massive to me. It was obviously heavy or dense that it was just gona disappear from the toilet without me even flushing.

I think baby is so high I can honestly see this going on for days.

No didn't send husband to work @DustyDoorframes!
