@kyles101 misdirected nesting is exactly what my husband has! Today he painted the shed and cleaned out the cupholders in the car. He is really excited and doing a lot of prep/baby research though so I can't complain tbh.

Beautiful to hear your birth was so healing @Stroan, a well deserved positive experience. Hope to (jealously) see another new baby or two here by the morning!

I've got my 'booking in' appt with new midwife next week at 35 weeks as we've moved, feels a bit weird and scary to be starting the process again somewhere new.

RonaldWeasley · 18/08/2019 20:53

P.s. @Stroan he's beautiful!

BBell2 · 18/08/2019 21:15

@DustyDoorframes I'll be here at the end too, probably October!

@struan I'm pleased they found your cyst and the section went well. A friend was explaining her planned section today and it sounded compared to her first...civilised so and calm!

@kyles101 you asked if I'm back friends with my husband, I wasnt this morning (big barny AGAIN)...but today he handled our daughters party, bouncy castle cancelled at last minute due to wind and he had to step in as zero experience kids entertainer. Serious brownie points because i found the whole experience cringy and just wanted to hide! This babes probably never having a party, we are traumatised!!

Hope the ladies with waters broken have a productive night! @Horehound @coffeeandgin26

DustyDoorframes · 18/08/2019 21:50

Awwwww @Stroan he's just gorgeous!!! All wrapped up like that, he's lovely. Glad to hear you are all getting settled.
Yep, it's very much looking like I have got GD. I had a scan which measured extra big on Friday, so got sent home with a blood sugar monitor to test til Tuesday. But given that I have had one solitary "good" reading since then, I'd say I've got it. Ho hum.

@BBell2 us late September peeps shall have to huddle together by then! Sounds like it will be pretty un-crowded!

@Horehound and @coffeeandgin26 I hope everything is proceeding apace and those babes are on their way!

Good luck for tomorrow @boodles101 ! Last night of "peace". hope you are not too itchy!

easterbuns1 · 18/08/2019 22:16

Congratulations @Stroan he is beautiful

kyles101 · 18/08/2019 22:40

Oh @Stroan what wonderful news! Congratulations, so pleased you're both home and doing well. Might as well have got it out whilst you were there!! He's adorable!!

Ah, @RonaldWeasley I forgot the cup holders - mine did that too, in fact, the whole car and put the shopping bags back in for me. VERY important baby prep jobs 😉

Ha ha @BBell2 sounds like he's earned a little bit of grace there!! I think kids can smell fear in situations like that, I'd have been awful! Cinema or pool parties all the way for us I think!!

@boodles101 You must be beside yourself with excitement!! 2 tiny new humans to meet tomorrow!!

Megan2018 · 18/08/2019 23:29

Huge congratulations @stroan! He is gorgeous! What a performance the while thing has been, at least the cyst has been dealt with too.
Hope the hypos stop now?!

Karigan195 · 19/08/2019 06:12

Morning everyone. Stroan he’s beautiful! Happy how is your little one?

Hope everyone is doing ok today.

We had no sleep last night as someone is trying to cluster feed! He can however do no wrong right now so I don’t care lol.

Read the handover report. Really shouldn’t have. Apparently there was 15 mins in poor condition. 6 with no heartbeat and he wasn’t breathing. Never been so scared in my life.

Glad they did the c section when they did as can’t help thinking we would have lost him if they had waited any longer.

KnobJockey · 19/08/2019 06:21

Oh @Karigan195 how bloody scary, the amount of time that you were bumped/ left to it was completely wrong- surely they should have a protocol for that! I wonder if anyone on here who went through similar last time will be able to point you in the right direction of how to get good aftercare and a debrief?

He looks absolutely scrummy though, I'm so happy that you are home and able to relax a little, even if he's not letting you sleep. Are there any after effects that you have to keep your eyes open for, or is he now considered fit and healthy?

Karigan195 · 19/08/2019 06:27

He’s jittery still. He also has borderline calcium so we have to make sure he feeds every 3 hrs maximum but they think he’ll be ok.

We’re just doing lots of kangaroo care right.

KnobJockey · 19/08/2019 06:32

@Stroan Ruari is beautiful, congratulations! How was your first night home with him? I'm so pleased for you that the planned csection has helped you with your DDs birth, after all of the stress and worry you deserve a bit of relaxation for your poor brain to heal.

Enjoy your time at home with them both 😊

KnobJockey · 19/08/2019 06:35

That's not too bad at all then Karigan, kangaroo care has got to be the loveliest kind! Ooh that feeling when you're laid back with a babies head tucked in your shoulder, their little frog legs on your chest, knowing that you are literally the only thing they want in the world right now, if they could bottle that feeling and sell it they would make squillions!

Florencenotflo · 19/08/2019 06:40

@KnobJockey I think that's the bit I'm looking forward to most. With dd people kept telling me to put her down, I didn't need to cuddle her all the time.

This time I've perfected my 'fuck off' face. I'm not planning on leaving the house (or my pyjamas for that matter) for at least 2 weeks, and just sitting with that little bum in my hands while I sniff their head 😍

@Karigan195 glad you're home and little one is doing ok!

Wonder how the other ladies are getting on overnight that we're in early labour!

OP posts:
Karigan195 · 19/08/2019 06:45

With you on that Florence. Think I have slight ptsd lol and need to feel him warm and breathing all the time anyway! DP has however been amazing. Been doing changes was up all night and totally looking after us both!

KnobJockey · 19/08/2019 06:45

Happydays00, did you manage to get some rest last night? Any news on little one, how he's recovering?

So, am I right in thinking that we have Boodles booked in for the twins csection today, coffeeandgin was in labour yesterday, Horehound was possibly starting too- how's everyone feeling this morning? Anything ramp up overnight?

I also think there were possibly another 2 on the Facebook group that aren't the ladies on here, or am I totally confused? Lost now!

KnobJockey · 19/08/2019 06:48

Oh Karigan, what weight was he again, did it compare to his scan weight you were given (if any) and does he fit in newborn clothes or have you skipped straight to the next size? I'm going to try and ask everyone as the little ones are born so we have an idea whether the newborn clothes are going to be tiny!

Karigan195 · 19/08/2019 06:50

He fits in newborn. 3.39kg was birth weight. Think that’s around 7.5lb isn’t it.

He seems dinky to me. :)

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/08/2019 07:13

What beautiful babies stroan & karigan! Glad you are both home soaking up the newbornness!

Happydays hopefully you can take your little one home soon but do take advantage of the option of sleep!

Boodles! YOUR HAVING TWINS TODAY!

Few cramps over night but didnt turn in to anything. Yawn. Fanny daggers when i walk this morning. Mw later on.

Puglover88 · 19/08/2019 07:19

@Stroan and @Karigan195 what gorgeous babies! Enjoy all the cuddles!

@boodles101 all the best for today!! So excited for you!

happydays00 · 19/08/2019 07:43

@Karigan195 that sounds utterly terrifying. Have they said what they think caused that?

@Stroan so glad to hear you had such a positive experience! Have your hypos stopped? No idea how GD works, does it stop as soon as baby is out?

Max has been moved from high dependency ICU to the next room which is amazing news and is now breathing on his own (with a lower dose of oxygen) and they’ve increased his tube feeds too so he’s showing really good progress. If all goes well we should get him home by the weekend 🤞🤞🤞🤞

@boodles101 wishing you the very best of luck today!!!

I know there are loads more updates but I cannot remember who is doing what! I was up expressing at 3:30 and haven't been able to get back to sleep since 😴😴

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/08/2019 07:50

Happyday great to hear Max is making good progress! What a little Star

Fortheloveofscience · 19/08/2019 07:53

stroan he’s absolutely gorgeous, huge congratulations!

Best of luck for today boodles, can’t wait for the twin pics!

happydays that’s fantastic news, how much time are you able to spend visiting at the hospital in the few days til he’s discharged home?

karigan I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been to read. I guess you’ll never find out whether it’s because of the fact they left you in labour for 3(?) days before doing the section? Obviously it’s great that you’re both home and all’s well, but the what ifs are absolutely terrifying and if you need some help with PTSD you absolutely need to ask for it.

Fortheloveofscience · 19/08/2019 08:01

Also, thank you for listening to my DH rant yesterday, it was a bit unexpected because he’s usually really good with 50% of the mental load with day to day stuff etc. Not as worried about after baby’s born, not least because we’re doing SPL so the second 6 months he’s going to be completely in charge of all baby/household stuff! Had a chat with him yesterday evening and apparently he’s been trying not to push with the to do list in the hope that I’ll relax into his slower tempo. Now realised that it isn’t going to work and just tires me out more so we’ll see if he gets more proactive.

On the plus side, we did order a cooker for our new kitchen and saved £400 off a rangemaster kitchener which is almost 30% Grin.

Exitstrategist · 19/08/2019 08:14

Congratulations to all those who have delivered- I still have at least a month so super jealous of the newborn cuddles! Good luck today to those with c sections and in labour! I will be having a c section also. No date yet- is that normal? Also, is anyone planning tubal ligation?
