Not long @IVEgottheDECAF bet that walk gets things going

BimbleBamble · 18/08/2019 09:49

This has been a super productive weekend ladies, well done!! Hope you are all doing/moving along well
Feeling super jealous of the baby cuddles with 5 weeks to go!!

Horehound · 18/08/2019 10:18

Oh thank you all. They are still coming, they do not go away if I change position and I think they do start in my back and move into my front. I have managed to nap since I posted and I do wake up every time one comes along.
I'm just really a but worries because I am finding this bit quite painful already and I'm now not sure I can do this at home.
I do want it to be kicking off though I just really didn't think it would feel like this!

Also, I am wondering if I should be up and about moving rather the laying in bed but I do think conserving energy may be the way to go here.

KnobJockey · 18/08/2019 10:26

Horehound, how regularly are they coming now, and are they moving closer together or a bit erratic? Definitely try and rest and nap, take some paracetamol if you need it, maybe try a bath? Were you trying for a home birth?

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/08/2019 10:26

Rest, eat, drink horehound follow your body!

Horehound · 18/08/2019 10:35

Earlier on they were around 8 and 9 mins apart then for a short while 6 to 7 mins apart. I think they are more like 9 mins apart again now but my tracker is a but all to pot cause I've missed putting some on when I was napping.

Yes I'm hoping for homebirth. Eek. Yep think a bath is a good idea.

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/08/2019 10:37

I have found in previous labours it has ramped up and i have needed to get out. I dont like water in labour.

coffeeandgin26 · 18/08/2019 10:38

Well, I'm in labour! Not 37 weeks until
Tomorrow but my waters went at 3am this morning so here I am!

KnobJockey · 18/08/2019 10:42

Bloody hell everybody, calm down! I can't keep up! That's brill news coffeeandgin, are you in hospital?

Do you think there will be any of us left by September? We're dropping like flies! I'm calling bagsy for September 1st.

KnobJockey · 18/08/2019 10:45

Horehound, sounds like it's still one to keep an eye on then. I definitely think in your position I would pop a couple of paracetamol, get a nice bath, eat something light but energising (or a McDonald's), and try your hardest to nap if it's at all possible. That will probably take a couple of hours, but at least you'll have more of an idea then whether they are getting closer and ramping up, or dwindling a bit. Probably a good idea to text your midwife regardless, put her on standby 😊

Horehound · 18/08/2019 10:46

Good luck @coffeeandgin26 :)

Horehound · 18/08/2019 10:47

@KnobJockey yep, think you are right. Thank you

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/08/2019 10:48

I will probably be left in September Sad

So fucking uncomfortable. I got up every fucking hour last night which is great fun when your legs dont work properly.

Good luck coffee and horehound!

KnobJockey · 18/08/2019 10:52

No problem, I'm not an expert at all but I know when I'm feeling it's all a bit much, I need someone to tell me what I already know and can do! Your body knows what it's doing 😊

KnobJockey · 18/08/2019 10:53

Decaf, I'm not actually due til the 17th, and the thought that I could actually still be pregnant until October makes me want to hurt somebody!

boodles101 · 18/08/2019 10:55

Oh wow it's all kicking off in August! Good luck coffeeandgin

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/08/2019 10:56

knobjockey that is a miserable thought....my due date is the 5th. Ive never made it to my due date. But what if this is the time it happens Shock

Tefiti2 · 18/08/2019 10:58

To all those in labour - please share everything you have done in the last few days in order for us to follow your exact routines.... Grin
Good luck @Horehound and @coffeeandgin26 - hoping for quick progression for you both!!

coffeeandgin26 · 18/08/2019 11:07

Yeo in hospital, contractions coming every theee or four minutes. I had a feeling last night she was going to come today - I had the urge to go for a long walk after dinner (a spicy curry!)

Dyra · 18/08/2019 11:13

GL to you both Horehound and Coffeeandgin. Baby snuggles for you in the near future. 😄

Still a mere 34+4 here. Feels like forever to go until baby is full term, let alone the due date and shudder possibility of going over-due....

kyles101 · 18/08/2019 12:14

Aw, good luck ladies!!! We'll soon be knee deep in babies!!

easterbuns1 · 18/08/2019 13:35

@happydays00 lovely name!

@Horehound @coffeeandgin26 good luck ladies!

Seems mad we aren't into September yet and the babies seem to have started to arrive consistently now. Looking forward to the next updates.

Horehound · 18/08/2019 14:51

I'm not sure I'll have much updates. I still have contractions but they are all over the place and I noticed worse when I'm laying down. Quite painful though so I do have the TENS machine on. I have a feeling this is going to go on a long time...

kyles101 · 18/08/2019 14:59

Are you finding the tens helping? I'm in 2 minds whether to get one...

Tefiti2 · 18/08/2019 15:16

This is your first isn’t it @Horehound? Hope you’re managing to eat bits to keep your energy up xx
