That's brilliant news @BridgetJonesDaiquiri - midwives + tears = anything sorted. I really hope you get some answers and reassurance.

I've deffo overdone it, must remember 37 weeks pregnant, going to have a lay down as keep getting horrible spasm type pains in my lower spine - ouchey - sod the bathrooms.

Florencenotflo · 15/08/2019 15:53

Glad that you managed to get hold of someone who talked sense @BridgetJonesDaiquiri!

As far as feeding goes here I'd like to bf initially but it didn't go to plan with dd. My milk didn't come in until day 10, by then the little gannet had got used to bottles and to be honest so had we. I'd ideally like to mix feed but I'm not sure how easy that is to establish. Purely for selfish reasons if I'm honest. Dh can help out when needed and I'm having to go back to work sooner than I'd like (around 6 months) and I can't get into the situation of having a baby that won't take a bottle.

@kyles101 I know what you mean. DH is off today so we've blitzed the housework and now he's taken Dd out down the seafront for a walk and to go in the park. I'm sat at home with horrendous braxton hicks and backache again 🙄 I think it's activity that makes them worse. Once I actually sit down and relax they seem to kick in.

Oh @BridgetJonesDaiquiri love. I'm sorry they've put you through so much stress over this, not fair is it. Glad you're getting to see a doctor today though, really hope they can sort you out.

I keep refreshing the thread seeing if there's any baby announcements! Aren't there two today? Very exciting.

We don't have an Aldi here, thank god. I officially do not need anything else and I know I would've fallen for the words "baby event"!

I'm going to give BF a go but my nips are stinging with let down and I've been leaking since about 20w. Just feel a bit over it already and I know how hard it is to get established over the first few weeks. I might be lucky like DSis and have a baby who latched immediately and great supply, but I'm not going to be breaking my heart over it if it doesn't work out. I'm more keen on her having a happy and relaxed mum and enjoying that time together as a family than I am about her being BF. I'm also going back at about six months @Florencenotflo, so for similar reasons she needs to be happy with bottles anyway.

DSis has just sent me a photo of the bedside cot all packed up, she's bringing it over tonight. She had to evict 5mo DNephew out of it as he kept breakdancing and spinning around it. Shit's getting real!

Puglover88 · 15/08/2019 16:28

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri that’s crap that they’ve made it so difficult for you and put this extra stress on you right when you don’t need it! Hopefully your meeting with the doctor this afternoon will give them the kick up the arse they clearly need!

happydays00 · 15/08/2019 16:34

Just popping on to say baby happy as arrived. Unfortunately he's in the NICU as his lungs are having to work harder than normal. They think it is due to fluid on his lungs (I had 3 litres and you're supposed to have 200-300ml!!!) but could be due to an infection or pneumonia.

Will update you with pics when I get some, feeling very groggy as they had to pump me with drugs during the section due to over stretched uterus and god knows what else! My body is far too dramatic to give birth either vaginally or by section it seems

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/08/2019 16:36

Congratulations happydays! GrinFlowers Hope you and baby are feeling better soon!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 15/08/2019 16:38

Congratulations @happydays00! Hope you're reunited soon and start to feel a little less groggy asap xx

TheCraicDealer · 15/08/2019 16:41

Congratulations @happydays00! ThanksThanksThanks great news, can't wait to see a wee picture! X

RonaldWeasley · 15/08/2019 16:41

Congratulations @happydays00 and well done. Sure they will take great care of him in the NICU and he'll be back with you soon x

Megan2018 · 15/08/2019 16:43

Glad he has arrived @happydays00 - huge congratulations!

Hope he is back with you asap, I am sure they will have him sorted in no time at all - you have both been through it to get here! Onwards and upwards now xx

KnobJockey · 15/08/2019 16:45

Congratulations happy, and welcome to the world little happy! I'm sorry you had complications, but what a good thing they had you in when they did.

Horehound · 15/08/2019 16:48

@kyles101 yeh it's cause we've just gona down to 1 car and husband need it for work so I'm stuck really. There is a bus that goes into the nearest town but that doesn't help because I don't know anyone there! I need a wee run around but we need to save money too.

That's amazing re. The books..what a bargain!

Yes really looking forward to having the dog. She loves it here and I love her. I had her for 4 years whilst my parents were abroad so I feel like she's mine anyway..I spoil her like a baby haha good practice!

Puglover88 · 15/08/2019 16:49

@happydays00 congratulations and welcome to the world Baby Happy! Hope you’re doing well and that he’s back with you soon - I’m sure they’re taking good care of him! Flowers xxxx

Horehound · 15/08/2019 16:50

Congratulations @happydays00 hope he and you are ok. Get some rest xx

Horehound · 15/08/2019 16:52

We've not heard from karigan yet have we?

Hope she is ok

Megan2018 · 15/08/2019 16:55

@horehound Karigan is posting on the facebook page. No baby yet but still in and contracting!

April88 · 15/08/2019 16:55

Congratulations @happydays00. Hope he only has a short time in NICU and our recover quickly

Dyra · 15/08/2019 16:56

Congratulations @happydays! Hope baby happy is returned to you quickly. How much did he weigh?

And holy moly 3L liquor?!?!??🤯 I am super impressed. Most I've seen was 2.7L. A huge well done to you for managing to carry all that plus baby and placenta. Get lots of rest now and I hope recovery is speedy.

Glad you're being seen @Bridget. Hope you get all your questions answered and something gets done.

Wish they'd have hurried up and built the Aldi we're supposed to get next year already. 😔The nearest other Aldis are awkward to get to since I rely on public transport. I love a good bargain. Need a new Moses basket mattress (or better yet a whole new Moses basket). I want to breastfeed, but I want some formula to hand just in case (as no leaking yet prods boobs). Need to start stocking up on nappy stuff too and I'm sure there is plenty more stuff I need.

Karigan195 · 15/08/2019 17:03

Congrats Happy :) can’t wait to see photos of the little one.

Yes still in waiting for my apparently tilted and therefore very stubborn cervix to dilate and still getting contractions. Very tired and getting more and more sore. Just scheduled a back up c section for 9am if my body etc won’t cooperate.

Horehound · 15/08/2019 17:09

Oh hope you make some progress then. Not long until 9am eek!

Oh man I'm so jealous. I don't have leaky boobs, I don't even feel like I'm gona go anytime soon. Bet I've got 4 weeks to go or something. Hmph!

kyles101 · 15/08/2019 17:10

Congratulations @happydays00 !! Speedy recovery for you and bubs. Can't wait for some pics 😍

Oooh 9am backup sounds promising @Karigan195 not long to go now!!!

We'll soon have babies ladies!!

Florencenotflo · 15/08/2019 17:13

Congratulations @happydays00!!

OP posts:
Megan2018 · 15/08/2019 17:14

Snap @horehound. I have 4 weeks left until they will induce me, so at least 4 weeks until baby. I don't imagine them making an early appearance!
I'm still at work tomorrow.

I think she'll be born on Friday 13th as I have had lots of nice things happen on Fri 13th (including eventually passing my driving test on the umpteenth go!).

Horehound · 15/08/2019 17:44

@Megan2018 only 1 more day woo hoo! Then you can, well, I was gona say relax but you now have a poor horse to attend to.

But at least no work :)

Oh that would be funny if she did come on Fri 13th..a lucky day!
