Woohoo @happydays00 how exciting!!!

Horehound · 15/08/2019 07:41

@Megan2018 OH NO! What happened to your horse? Poor thing.
Only 2 work days left, you got this!

challengeyourreality · 15/08/2019 07:44

@happydays00 wow baby is arriving, exciting for you!
@Megan2018 what happened to your poor horse? These things are sent to try us

DustyDoorframes · 15/08/2019 07:55

@happydays00 fingers crossed you are already getting ready for a nice early section. I woke up in a great rage this morning just through being hungry so I would very much share your pain with nil by mouth!
Oh no @Megan2018 your poor horse! But having the end of work in sight (albeit with two days of clearing madness first...) sounds brilliant.
@Stroan how was the night? Another cheery 6am wake up call? Fingers crossed you get home shortly and can have at least a bit of chilled time!

Stroan · 15/08/2019 08:07

@dustydoorframes I think I've been forgotten! Just about to buzz to ask them to test my bloods as I'm feeling rough. Haven't seen a soul yet today, so much for close monitoring

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/08/2019 08:09

Turned into part of the furniture Stroan?

Florencenotflo · 15/08/2019 08:28

That's a bit rubbish @Stroan have they said what time you can go home?

I've just had a call, c section is definitely 23rd although it is a PM list so there are 3 scheduled, 13:30, 14:45 and 16:00. A bit worried now about DH going home after. I'd just assumed it would be in the morning and I'd be fine by the evening for DH to go home to Dd. Especially if I were to be pushed back for emergencies, it could end up being really late before I'm back on the ward. Have to cross that bridge I suppose if it happens. And I'm allowed breakfast that day, just needs to be before 6:30/7am! Yay!

boodles101 · 15/08/2019 08:53

florencenotflo mines and afternoon/evening list too. I don't have to be at hospital til 11am on Monday, hoping to find out times or order list at my pre assessment tomorrow. Good that you are allowed breakfast though so they don't keep you starving all day!

DustyDoorframes · 15/08/2019 08:53

Oh dear, that's not ideal stroan!
Yay to have the date confirmed florence! Hmm, definitely does sound like you'll need a plan b for your DD though. The logistics are so much trickier after the first child!

Stroan · 15/08/2019 09:02

Just had a hypo. In a way, I'm pleased it's been picked up here and under conditions where I definitely shouldn't have had a hypo. It makes me feel a bit validated in pushing for the earlier section. Steroids should have pushed my numbers up.

Just not sure if it might affect the section tomorrow - there's no way I can fast for more than 9 hours and I don't know what they would do if I had one before the op. Doctors should be round soon to ask though.

@florencenotflo that does sound tricky. Have you got good childcare on hand if DH can't get home quickly? Hopefully you get the first slot.

Megan2018 · 15/08/2019 09:05

No idea how horse has done it - field injury - high up on inside off hind and not a kick. It's a nasty hole that has opened up the muscle and goes right to the tibia. Grim.
Poor pony and rubbish timing, I am going to find this spell of box rest a challenge. I had high hopes of spending my next few weeks on the sofa. Instead I'll be mucking out twice a day, handgrazing, stuffing haynets and fretting. Fortunately she is insured as I suspect this will be the best part of £1k by the time we are finished.

I suppose it takes my mind off the pregnancy!

Dyra · 15/08/2019 09:05

Good luck for today @happydays00! Can't wait for the announcement.

Hope your horse is ok @Megan2018.

Hope you've been seen by now @Stroan. Maybe a late handover by the midwives and they're just running behind.

Exciting times @Florencenotflo. Impressed at your trust's 75 minute section time. Fingers crossed you're first on the list anyway.

Very hormonal this morning. So far I have cried because I'm too tired and I want Coco pops for breakfast but can't. Then in an effort to cheer me up my husband said he'd cook dinner for me tonight. Which naturally made me cry harder. Let's see if I can make it through the rest of this shift without dissolving into a soggy mess. 10 1/2 hours to go...

DustyDoorframes · 15/08/2019 09:12

@Stroan that was a very well timed hypo! Obvs better not to have had it, but still. Hopefully the doc will come up with a good plan- people can't fast before emergency sections so there has to be a way round. Hopefully not involving you staying in on a drip...

I'm feeling really lightheaded, currently on the sofa drinking sweet tea instead of on my way to work. Oops. I've an appointment with the BP clinic tomorrow, so I'll ask them then. But I definitely think my BP is low rather than high, since I'm getting dizzy spells a couple of times most days.

BimbleBamble · 15/08/2019 09:28

Good luck to all you ladies who are going to have your little ones with you in the next few days, super exciting!!

Tefiti2 · 15/08/2019 09:41

Good luck @happydays00 and @Karigan195!! Sorry about the hypo @Stroan but I totally understand why it makes you feel a bit more validated.
School holidays are over here!

Puglover88 · 15/08/2019 09:55

@happydays00 @Karigan195 can’t wait to hear your baby announcements!

@Stroan ah that’s not ideal but at least you’re in the right place where they can deal with it!

@Megan2018 hope your horse is OK!

@Dyra I’m an emotional mess at the moment as well, crying over the smallest things! Hope the shift goes quickly.

Stroan · 15/08/2019 09:55

Thanks @dyra I think they've just had a busy night and morning. It's been pretty efficient so far and I've been well looked after. They did bring me someone else's breakfast though - and it was the dream. All the carbs!

@dustydoorframes Just seen the doc and done all my pre-op stuff. I'm actually on the afternoon list, so can eat breakfast at 6am tomorrow then come in for 11. So pleased to be getting home to DD who was really unsettled this morning.

Doctor not concerned about the hypo.

Puglover88 · 15/08/2019 09:56

Might have gone a little overboard at Aldi! 😬 Also got a cot mattress as well!

Stroan · 15/08/2019 09:56

@dustydoorframes not great about the dizziness. Is low BP normally something you experience in pregnancy? At least you have the clinic soon. Enjoy a rest day if you can.

DustyDoorframes · 15/08/2019 10:19

That's really good re breakfast tomorrow @Stroan ! I am very breakfast focussed today... and brilliant re getting home, phew!
I'm with the BP clinic because of a history of HIGH BP/preeclampsia in pregnancy. So low is probably good!

Haha @Puglover88 did you leave anything in Aldi for the rest of us?? Good haul!

Florencenotflo · 15/08/2019 10:33

@boodles101 I've got to be there for 11am so probably similar timings.

@Stroan I was eating right up until my emcs with dd, they can't make you fast for 9 hours surely. I wondered if they did it before planned ones just in case. It's probably better for them if they know you haven't eaten but can manage it if you have. And yes, luckily in laws were due to have Dd that day anyway as they also have nieces down for a few days. My mum will come and take over from MIL if DH won't be back.

@Megan2018 is there anyone at the yard that could help you?

I said that @Dyra! Like a conveyor belt! But my emcs with dd was over within 60 mins, so I guess they have it down to a fine art! And fingers crossed nothing else makes you cry!

I was just looking at the Aldi stuff @Puglover88 the problem is I don't think we actually need anything else now, but I love a bargain! Is it all quite good?
