I have never in any previous pregnancy done any nesting. Yet i am sat here now looking at dc4s books feeling pissed off that they are messy....

I wonder if silence means baby Karigan is en route!

DustyDoorframes · 14/08/2019 17:56

Just caught up on the day!
Oooh exciting @Karigan195 ! Queue jumping the "early" sections??? Hopefully it's not just pointless pain!!
@boodles101 yay re the consultant! I do like a nice simmetrica date! Monday- eeep!!!!
@Stroan 16 is double 8 so that's a good date in my book!
Glad you are off home @BridgetJonesDaiquiri . Do you have to go back for BP monitoring, or can the MW come to you? Ouf re the OC. Those babies don't half are their toll!!

DustyDoorframes · 14/08/2019 19:33

PS @Stroan are you still on labour ward????

Stroan · 14/08/2019 19:40

@dustydoorframes I certainly am! DD was very confused that I have a crib and no baby Grin

DustyDoorframes · 14/08/2019 19:55

You're going to be having the longest "labour" on the ward! Fingers crossed you get a bit more rest tonight. How are the blood sugars?
I guess the MWs aren't used to their patients actually going to sleep on the ward...

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 14/08/2019 20:01

@Puglover88 I knew very little about it too before this week! Yes it usually means they induce shortly after 37 weeks to avoid any complications. Although I'll probably push for planned cesarean as I have the BP issues to contend with as well and was induced last time and didn't have a great time with it. Would love the claw back some control if possible!

@DustyDoorframes I go back to my GP on Monday for BP monitoring and then hospital for scans (baby growth and my liver) on Wednesday. Still not got appointment day/time through for consultant to discuss next steps - I'll be on their case tomorrow.

Spoke to my boss and have said I need to move my mat leave forward to this Friday. Got a few things I need to tie up tomorrow and can work from home thankfully.

Stroan · 14/08/2019 20:48

@dustydoorframes I know! The poor staff are so busy and have to keep coming to faff with me on a schedule. I feel like a total fraud.

I do keep hearing new babies cry though. I'm still a bit in denial that will be mine in less than 36 hours....

@bridgetjonesdaiquiri it's good you have a diagnosis and some medication. Hope it's not too itchy for you between now and the appointments next week.

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/08/2019 20:52

Ah i am so green over people getting babies so soon! Envy Although after today i dont think i could manage to give birth Blush

DustyDoorframes · 14/08/2019 21:29

@Stroan you are there because it's easiest for them to have you to hand! No fraud needed! But it must be doing your head in a bit...

happydays00 · 14/08/2019 21:30

@Stroan not surprised you are feeling emotional. Would you prefer to go home for a night? I remember you said you may hve to stay in for multiple nights post c section too?

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri sorry to hear you have OC. Is the itching unbearable?

I've re packed my hospital bags tonight, got a pedicure and my eyebrows done earlier, just had a nice dinner with DH and painted my fingers nails. I'm still in total denial that this time tomorrow I should have my baby 😳😳

Florencenotflo · 14/08/2019 21:34

So exciting @happydays00! And it sounds like you've had a nice day too.

I had my consultant appointment, c section is booked for 23rd August (39+3). Typically though I'm now having some mild contractions, I'm struggling to decide if there are really harsh BH or the real thing. Having a lay down on the sofa!

kyles101 · 14/08/2019 21:44

Oh @happydays00 so excited for you!! It must be like the night before Christmas x 1,000!!

DustyDoorframes · 14/08/2019 21:48

@happydays00 that sounds like the ideal last day pre baby! We will all be thinking of you like crazy tomorrow!!!

Oooh @Florencenotflo next Friday! Exciting! What happens if labour does kick in? Do you have to rush in for an emergency section? Fingers crossed they are just BH anyway.

Fortheloveofscience · 14/08/2019 21:59

Happydays will be thinking of you tomorrow, can’t wait to see the birth announcement.

Florence I’m sorry I can’t remember why you were scheduled for the section, but hopefully you’ll find out soon whether it’s the real thing or not.

Stroan · 14/08/2019 22:05

@happydays00 you are SO close. Lovely last day too, do you know what time you are scheduled for? We'll all be thinking of you tomorrow.

Yes, I'd like to get home for the night and do bedtime. Plus my Mum is planning to deep clean my kitchen and I want to make sure she puts everything in the right place 😂

Because DH has to be with DD, and she can't really handle long visits, it feels a bit like we're totally disconnected this week. He's stressed with work and me being in hospital and I'm insecure and a bit lonely. Would be nice to spend some time with him too once he's finished work and is more relaxed.

Florencenotflo · 14/08/2019 22:20

@DustyDoorframes consultant said to see how it goes but if I do go into labour naturally ring labour ward and see how I feel about continuing as a VBAC or not.

@Fortheloveofscience I wanted a VBAC, have done the positive birth company hypnobirthing course and was all ready. But my growth scans at 32 and 36 weeks puts baby's head measurement at 97th percentile and estimated weight of 10lbs plus. If I try for a VBAC apparently there is a lower threshold for intervention and ultimately a repeat c section anyway. I was very undecided until the last week or so.

@Stroan fingers crossed you get home for a bit tomorrow- needing to supervise your mum should convince the consultant it's crucial, anyway!

@Florencenotflo that's good you still have options if things do kick off. And your feelings on the matter might become crystal clear...

challengeyourreality · 14/08/2019 22:44

Evening all, trying to keep up with who is due/scheduled for births when but failing miserably. Good luck to anyone in the middle of it all right now.
Having the worst heart burn tonight, hurts so much. Greatly regretting my acid rich dinner and snacks.

iano · 14/08/2019 22:48

Oh wow! Lots of luck to those having babies in the next few days! Very exciting!!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 14/08/2019 22:55

@happydays00 sounds like a perfect pre-op day! Wishing you all the very best for tomorrow - the end is in sight Smile

The itching it's actually ok/fairly mild, which is strange as my bile acid levels are so high. If I hadn't mentioned some itchiness in passing they wouldn't have looked at bile levels and diagnosed OC. I'm fully prepared for the itching to increase though! The most obvious sign of OC is that my urine is really dark and have mad acid reflux no matter how little I eat. I'm struggling to push myself to eat anything at the moment as it's so uncomfortable.

Puglover88 · 14/08/2019 23:17

@happydays00 wishing you all the best for tomorrow- will be thinking of you! xx

Megan2018 · 15/08/2019 06:18

@happydays00 hope all goes well today, look forward to hearing all about it!!

36 weeks today and last day at work tomorrow. Had a traumatic evening last night, emergency vet needed for my horse who has a wound through to the bone on her leg. Not what I needed! Overdid it rushing around to get a stable ready - felt horribly uncomfortable in the bump afterwards and my heart was going like the clappers which baby didn’t appreciate.
At least after Friday I’ll be able to take my time with the horse jobs.
Today is A level results day and Clearing at work (uni), so my last 2 days will be busy. Roll on Friday night!!!!!

db92 · 15/08/2019 06:18

Hope all goes well today @happydays00 . Will be thinking of you

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/08/2019 06:20

Good luck happydays

Karigan hope you and baby are ok

Megan sorry to hear about horse! Try and rest when you can!

happydays00 · 15/08/2019 06:24

Thanks everyone! I had an amazing sleep last night m, so that was a lovely surprise!

@Stroan really hoping you can get home for a bit. My fingers are firmly crossed. We have been told we just have to rock up at 7:30 and the surgeon in the day allocates the timings. So could be any time but I'm really hoping for morning. The nil by mouth is still an issue for me 😂

@Karigan195 so hope you're snuggling your baby.

@Megan2018 How stressful! Hope you got some rest and horse is ok!

Will send pics when I can. IT'S HAPPENING 😬😬
