Due March 2008 - another teeny tiny thread for dial ups and mobiles

Welcome. It seems that when we get to over 400 hundred posts then dial ups and mobiles can't handle loading the threads well. Sweetkitty, I hope this helps. xx

Turtle - my goodness that has to be the most expensive (and complicated) carseat in the world!! You can get carrycot car seats which might be a cheaper option.

No new pushchairs or car seats for me. Just a buggyboard for DD.

MerlinsBeard · 11/08/2007 20:33

i can't get your web address to load.

derah · 11/08/2007 21:11

MofM - I just deleted the stuff up to the last backslash and then it worked for me.

Or, you could click here (hope that's the right page)

MerlinsBeard · 11/08/2007 21:22

I just replied but my post got eaten

That is the most expensive and oddest contraption i have ever seen!

costs more than my rent and would take up 2 seats in teh car!

I looked up the latest which report and its not on there. wonder how safe it is, iirc they don't advocate lie flat car seats at Which?

timmyinatizzy · 11/08/2007 22:03

Hello everyone. Hope all is well. Had a fun time in Butlins with dsd's. They loved every minute of it. Dsd1 (the elder twin!) even got up and sang at karioke in a pub full of people. She started off with Poison by Alice Cooper and then did Take your mama, by the Scissor Sisters. Respect to her.

Hi Yardette, I'm in Bromley too, well actually Orpington to be more precise. My GP sent off my forms for the nuchal scan very quickly and I got my appointment through before the midwife appointment. My gp said that they do them at Kings College and Hammersmith here in London. Suppose we're lucky that Bromley NHS offer them, although we don't get dating scans, just the nuchal scan. Not long to go now, midwife on the 17 August and nuchal on 20 August. Can't wait to see junior. I'll be going to the Princess Royal, if you are in Bromley then that'll be the one you go to too. Do you think we could be there at the same time?

turtle23 · 11/08/2007 22:42

By the way, when I said I was having dreams about the carseat, it isn't that I really want one, it just keeps popping up in my dreams!! I was in it in last nights'!! lol

imjin100 · 12/08/2007 14:47

hello all, have returned from fab holiday - thoroughly enjoyed some time out and r and r, and excuse to eat ice lollies all the time (they work a treat for sickness incase anyone interested!) Have been given date for scan, which is friday, am suddenly very excited as going to my parents on saturday and hope to take a picture (which yes, we have to pay £3 for - nevermind - it's worth it isn't it!)
Welcome to all the new people, is march a baby bonanza time or is every thread this big.
Sorry to those who are feeling rough, having nightmares, peeing like crazy and feeling icky still....periodically if my dh wants a slap he tells me 'it's all in a good cause' -but I won't dare say that to you guys! Instead, hopes to all that soon turn a corner and just get on with getting fat. Longing to justifiably buy maternity clothes - just now if I'm finding clothes too tight there is only one reason and it comes in the fridge...chocolate chocolate chocolate.

merryberry · 12/08/2007 18:16

Hi all, back from holiday, and sorry to hear how rough CT is. We had a good break, I've had a little cry about being back, could have done another week, easy. Also went to wedding of lovely mate. Really good best man's speech, viciously funny
I think I'm done with first trimester problems now - a bit more energy and a lot less nausea and weird food choices. Looking forwarf to having my kitchen back and doing us some really good food. I barely cooked a thing the last 7 weeks.

Loveandsqualor, the bad time with number one son was down at TOmmy's. I'm booked this time to UCH, which is fractionally more overstretched than usual, according to an ex-colleague with the inside gen. But then it's not doing as badly with holding onto staff as some of the others, so...sigh...who knows. Skiddodle that's pants. Sad to say, you should not trust anyone with your health until they have proved themselves to you first, the NHS is just too large an organisation and the processes to complex with too many points it can go wrong at. Lots does go right, but it's very healthy to be sceptical and double check like you did this time!

Hello to the new people!

Derah, I laughed at your bench sleep
Fitnforty, yes at tommy's we had to pay 2 quid per print out.

Am off to gaze longingly at the clothes on isabelle oliver's, ever since i found out they do my fat laydee size i've been plotting some goodies for then - on the grounds they will have some resale value!?!? Plot, plot, plot

Hello!

Can I join in, please?

After four years of trying, I'm finally having a baby .

DH and I were due to have our first appointment at the IVF clinic on Friday, but I felt so run-down recently that I thought I'd do a test beforehand. I was so shocked at the result that I nearly fell off my toilet seat.

It's the biggest birthday surprise I've ever had. I'm seven weeks along, so I'm due on March 29th. I'm keeping everything crossed that my baby will be healthy and happy.

derah · 12/08/2007 19:49

Welcome PurlyQueen! What amazing good news!!!!! Congratulations!!!

Merryberry - I fell asleep working in a fume hood with my head resting happily on the glass! Surprisingly comfy! Glad you had a good holiday....

3madboys · 12/08/2007 19:56

yay congratulations purlyqueen

i have been looking at funky baby clothes on the wed there are some cool sites, nappyhead.co.uk is one a a few others, some are a bit shocking tho, i foudn one baby t shirt that says "all daddy wanted was a blowjob" i think my mil would freak at that, hmmmmmmmm insert evil face

skidoodle · 12/08/2007 20:20

hi purlyqueen and congratulations

welcome back holiday ladies.

merryberry, yes it was a good lesson well learnt. I will always double check everything from now on and make sure to know how I want things to be, it seems to help making sure you get good care.

I'm so hopeful my symptoms will soon pass like yours. I've been even more nauseated than usual the last few days, but hopefully soon I will be back to something approaching normal. Haven't cooked in ages and would love to get back to it.

3MB - OMG that t-shirt is so rude! I can't believe they'd even make something like that for a little baby. I'm sure your mil would freak out

timmyinatizzy · 12/08/2007 20:38

Oh well back to work tomorrow. Wish I had another week off. Fingers crossed that my trousers aren't too tight. Feeling tired today and that was after having a kip whilst the footie was on this afternoon. Think I might have an early night today. ZZzzzzzz.

Jackstini · 12/08/2007 21:20

Hi all - missed a few days as not been feeling great and have about 150 messages to read though (later!)
Have been having some very sharp twinges down one side so been booked in for an early scan tomorrow on midwife's advice just to rule out ectopic - we are hoping it is just ligaments stretching or scar from last CS playing up.
Anyone else had twinges and been fine? [little hopeful emoticon]

FlossieF · 12/08/2007 22:53

I went through a phase of having twinges down one side, and also got immensely paranoid about ectopic pregnancy. Then the twinges changed side, so I decided it was probably alright! Haven't had a scan yet, so don't know for sure, but I'd say it's probably stuff stretching....

Best of luck for scan tomorrow.

turtle23 · 13/08/2007 08:20

Congrats and welcome purlyqueen!
I had twinges too, and have seen for myself that bean is where he should be. Useless to say don't worry though, as we all do it so well!

Jackstini · 13/08/2007 08:34

Thanks Turtle & Flossie! Am on that stage of 'counting the hours until I know' now.
Hopefully I will be back on here later this afternnon with good news

MerlinsBeard · 13/08/2007 10:43

Jackstini, hope it goes well today for you.

Ihave had twinges on the left side but they aren't sharp particularly and they were imtermittant. have also had them onthe right side recently so unless i have a twin ectopic i think its just stretching.

I have still had no contact from the MW so no scans booked so i don't know if all is well and in the right place I hate this early stage

WinkyGirl · 13/08/2007 10:54

Hey Jackstini - hope the scan goes well. I've got a viability scan at 1.30pm today and am v nervous! I've had twinges which I have assumed are just my uterus stretching...

Fingers crossed!

MerlinsBeard · 13/08/2007 10:55

Winky, how far are you?

Feels like i have ben pregnant for ages already because every day is dragging by for me!

Jackstini · 13/08/2007 10:56

I know MOM - the first trimester you usually feel a bit 'forgotton' and it should be the most exciting bit!
Winkygirl - good luck for 1.30 - mine is at 2 - will be thinking of you

WinkyGirl · 13/08/2007 11:15

Hi MOM, I'm 8.5 weeks.

Good luck for 2pm Jackstini!

I also hate these first 12 weeks. Especially because you could really do with support but you cannot tell people. But then again at least its 12 weeks without all the unhelpful comments and people trying to rub your stomach and bossing you around about whether or not to find out the sex of the baby.

Oh for bloomin' hecks sake the morning is d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g rah!

MerlinsBeard · 13/08/2007 11:18

jackstini, i had a mmc at 6 weeks last year(well baby had got to 6 but i had got to 10) so every day i have something different to worry about!

Preggersagain...are we allowed to know who you are yet? Are you also inshockandawe?

preggersagain · 13/08/2007 11:22

no i'm not inshockandawe!! i'll reveal myself once i've had a scan!

MerlinsBeard · 13/08/2007 11:23

thats understandable preggersagain, i am just nosey!
