Due March 2008 - another teeny tiny thread for dial ups and mobiles

Welcome. It seems that when we get to over 400 hundred posts then dial ups and mobiles can't handle loading the threads well. Sweetkitty, I hope this helps. xx

C4it - thanks for the info. I will definitely look into the Anti D issue a bit more before my appointment. I absolutely hate needles and don't want to be injected if I don't need to.

Meeting in London sounds good to me too. I work in Holborn but anywhere in Central London is good for me.

Victoriagirl congratulations, it must be so exciting.

Brazilianmum · 22/08/2007 13:27

has anyone heard of the website www.drfoster.co.uk/localservices/birth/ It has details of all the maternity units in the country and what they offer.

derah · 22/08/2007 13:44

MoM - I used that white elastic that goes in sleeves/hems etc. Though a hair elastic would work too. How sad that I'm not the first to think of it!

Must hunt for boob tubes..... sounds like a great tip!

HolidaysQueen · 22/08/2007 14:15

I'm a London girl too and would be up for meeting up - would be fun trying to guess which nickname matches to which real live person I work out near Heathrow and live in Ealing, so central would suit me best(Piccadilly Line gets me to most places)

cricri · 22/08/2007 14:43

Hello all,
I would be up for meeting up in London too - I used to work in Central London and live just 1h away by train. I could combine our MN meeting with shopping for boobtubes or just have a day out. I actually enjoy going to London now that I don't have to go every day. Before I couldn't wait to escape!
I come in from the east side so anywhere in Central London would be fine.

derah · 22/08/2007 15:28

As long as it's a Monday, Tuesday or weekend I'd love to come to a London meet-up too.

Have you ladies seen that there's a Due in May 2008 thread already? Eeep!! We're positively old news!

frannieinthecity · 22/08/2007 15:47

hi, i hope you don't mind me joining in at this stage. I'm 9 weeks pregnant and due 22nd March - I think!

I am actually being sick every single afternoon and wondered if you ladies had any advice. I've tried ginger. eating. not eating. bleeeurgh. it's a nightmare. i am taking pregnacare and wondered if that might contribute. I guess it's just luck of the draw huh. any tips gratefully receieved...

e14mum · 22/08/2007 16:06

Hi frannie- I take my vitamins before I go to bed, and I also have a snack before I go to bed. (Like yogurt and fruit, or a piece of toast) I find I've been sickest on the days I didn't have a snack the night before.
Those are my meager tips- but I hope it helps and you feel better soon!

frannieinthecity · 22/08/2007 16:22

thanks e14 i'll give it a go. it's a bit heavy going when it's every single day.

i sat with my head over the loo yesterday crying, but at the same time thinking, well this is a good sign - stuff must be happening.

all the handy hints below v useful & congratulations on the twins!

imjin100 · 22/08/2007 16:32

frannieinthecity, I have found icepops (or ice lollies if I can't get ice pops) been great. That and marmite....?
I have heard people saying taking those pills can be dodgy on an empty stomach and doesn't help ms....
probably no use but just a thought.
good luck. I have to say I am feeling most odd now, at 12 weeks the MS has stopped, almost as suddenly as it began. Was looking forward to going out with DH but he's not feeling well (he tells me it's sickness of some sort - the fact that he came home pissed last night after an evening with the boys has nothing to do with it!). Bit disappointed to be really honest but have masses to do at home so never mind. Frankly it's the idea of having to cook that feels me with gloom, just can't be bothered!!

timmyinatizzy · 22/08/2007 16:51

Good news!

Just had a phone call from a midwife at Kings where I had my nuchal scan on Monday. Junior is clear for Downs, Edwards and other sex chromosonal disorders. I've got a 2 to 3 week wait for some other tests to be complete but I am soo happy. I was one of the 43 out of 44 who would be fine. Thanks to everyone who sent their best. I can now officially enjoy the pregnancy and tell everyone!!!!!!

Brazilianmum · 22/08/2007 16:57

So happy to hear your news. All the best.

cricri · 22/08/2007 17:23

Timmyinatizzy - that's excellent news! So pleased for you.

glammarjoram · 22/08/2007 17:47

timmy, that's excellent news. I'm really pleased for you.

glammarjoram · 22/08/2007 17:48

sorry cricri, that was almost word for word the same as yours. Must have read it, forgotten it and then thought it was all my own work! Preggers brain

cricri · 22/08/2007 18:16

No worries Glammarjoram - I've very nearly done the same thing myself on a couple of occasions!
Talking of pregnancy brain - guess who decided to cook baked potatoes in the oven for tea but then switched on the wrong oven(bottom rather than top)... DH is now having to microwave them! Oops!

winemakesmummyclever · 22/08/2007 18:25

Timmy - what great news for you & dp. Here's to a stress-free time for all of us over the next few months

spugs · 22/08/2007 19:27

hiya, congrats on our first set of twins
had my booking in with mw today have protein in wee so she thinks i have an infection have to wait a whole week for results so wont get any antibiotics or anything till then.

sickness is definitly wearing off now and ive stopped taking tablets with iron in so ive deflated loads just 2 more weeks till scan

glammarjoram · 22/08/2007 19:34

my current pregnancy obsession song how much do I like this song? Anyone got her album? And she was born in 1987!!!

derah · 22/08/2007 19:38

Yay Timmy! That's such good news and what a weight off your mind!

Glammarj - good song indeed, but I'm more into Delilah by the Plain White Tee's.

I was supposed to go to an aqua-natal class tonight (the one I tried to go to last week but forgot my wallet) but DH was stuck in a meeting and didn't even leave work until after I was supposed to be on my way there. So annoyed with him that he didn't even call/text to say he wouldn't be home in time and I was standing next to the door with my bag packed, ready to go! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

glammarjoram · 22/08/2007 19:42

Derah, I have 2 songs on a loop at the moment and the other is is indeed Delilah!!!! Somtimes I transpose the "Delilah" for my RL name and I imagine he's singing it about me! How sad am I? For those who haven't heard it Derah's current fave Poor you being thwarted in your attempt to go to the baths.

victoriagirl · 22/08/2007 21:20

Thanks for all your lovely messages- still in shock. Wonder how long that will last for.
Timmyinatizzy- thanks for the tip. But don't worry, there is no way I would dress them the same- or give them names that start with the same letter. I know there is a higher risk with the pregnancy, so am trying not to get too carried away, but already feel very attached to them now that I have seen them. Good news on the DS test. We are having to rethink our 'no we won't have any tests' policy as there is now an implication for both rather than just one.
Glad to hear sickness is starting to ease for some- sorry to hear its still there for frannieinthecity. Its still there for me too, but seems to have switched to 3.30am now, as well as the mild nausea throughout the day. Nothing much seems to help, other than trying to eat every 2 hours so that I never get hungry, and drinking lots.
Funny to read all of you are planning to meet up in that patisserie. The girls on the TTC after miscarriage thread were planning to do the same thing in the same place I think. Hope it works out for you- will be there in spirit.

tallmother · 22/08/2007 21:21

Hi all,

Joined the thread ages ago and it's taken me an hour and a half to catch up on the highs and lows of the last few weeks! (DH is worried that laptop is on my lap and it might be frying the bean?....should I be worried about wireless...?). Great to hear about the twins and so sorry the hear about all the sad news too.

Just got back from a lovely holiday in Italy but spent the whole time worrying that I had no symptoms (haven't felt sick/tired at all for weeks...should thank mt lucky stars I suppose). Went to the EPU today for scan and bean is fine (although arms looked a little stubby!). DH came too and has finally realised this is happening.

Have been given a dating scan date for 1st October which am a bit confused about as I will be nearly 16 weeks then?

Haven't told a sole yet apart from DH but am finding it harder every day...am 9 +4 (like I'm hiding something all the time). Thinking about telling inlaws this weekend - wanted to wait for 12 weeks but now scan is 16 weeks I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG!) Can think of no more excused for not drinking.....

Sorry for long post and lack of emicons...can't find right button for brackets!

Dontlookatmeimshy · 22/08/2007 21:41

Hi all, haven't been on for ages due to feeling so crappy and spending every available free moment sleeping!!. Just starting to feel vaguely human again, sickness is easing a bit, hormones aren't quite so eratic! but still need to have a midday nap with ds otherwise I turn into a zombie by tea-time.

Sorry to hear we have had so many losses especially just when we start to think we're almost out of the first 12 weeks.

Congratulation to VG for our first set of twins.

Hope everyone else is ok and not feeling too bad/sick/tired/hormonal etc

winemakesmummyclever · 22/08/2007 22:10

Glad to hear that most of us are feeling slightly better lately. For those of you who are still feeling the ms, be assured that it will pass.

Glammarj - haven't heard any of her stuff, shall start a download. Feel v old now I know she's only 19.

Derah - I heard the Plain White T's the other week on the radio and haven't been able to get it out of my head since - love it. Very into Cherry Ghost at too - shall have to get the album soon. May buy it for myself as a birthday present tomorrow .

Congrats to any new ladies and to those who've had their scans. Sleep well
