Had my 2nd growth scan today 32+5 all good still on 50th centile she was super wriggly as usual yawning and sucking her thumb bless currently 4.5 lbs. asked consultant to look at my placenta location scan info and he said I'm fine for a natural birth even asked if I thought about a home birth erm no I'm 42 and I'm been induced on due date he said if I go into labour before this I can go to midwife led unit, I can also be induced at midwife led unit by breaking waters but if that doesn't work I'd then need to be transferred to consultant led which in our hospital is across the corridor so I'm fine with that. I've also had news on my maternity allowance got letter today to say first payment in next few days then regular payments from 15th August, I sent off on the 11th June so all in all I'm feeling positive apart from this heat I'm melting Smile

Fortheloveofscience · 25/07/2019 13:37

At my midwife appointment this morning I saw someone different who said I need my bloods repeating next appointment (34w) because my last result (that she had to call the lab and retrieve) was 116. Assuming she’s talking about haemoglobin, normal range is 115 so might be why I’m feeling so off? A little cross that this was the result from my 16 week bloods and first time anyone’s mentioned it.

IVEgottheDECAF · 25/07/2019 13:38

Think i sent my mat allowance application about the 25th/26th June so hopefully i will atleast hear back in next two weeks

BBell2 · 25/07/2019 13:46

My work has just sent out a reminder of our corporate dress policy. I'm just waiting on someone to come and tell me I'm exposing too much shoulder! I swear one top still fits and it's a contraban vest top.

IVEgottheDECAF · 25/07/2019 13:57

Omg Bbell i cant imagine anyone would be so brave as to take on a heavily pregnant woman over her wardrobe on a day like today

Today i painted my toe nails. I think that is impressive. It was hard work.

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 25/07/2019 14:35

@BBell2 anyone who challenges you is either very brave or very stupid. Bra and pants here again today and even that is too hot.

I did my trotters today too @IVEgottheDECAF. It is a job that will be delegated to DH from now on.

I have also fake tanned. It's a good job the weather looks shit because I now have a lovely white circle at the tops of my thighs where my belly has sweated my tan off. I am a delight, why is DH not rushing home from work each night to ravish me? Maybe he has gone blind.

Fortheloveofscience · 25/07/2019 14:41

Oof Bbell of all the days to send out a dress code reminder! Take no prisoners if anyone dares to mention anything.

kyles101 · 25/07/2019 15:21

Very impressed at the ladies painting toes nails - I've not seen my feet in a few weeks let alone got down there to paint them! Dh is being a love at the moment though, he might do them for me if I ask nicely.

Stroan · 25/07/2019 15:44

Painting toenails?! How does that even work? Do you use a long paintbrush?

I highly recommend a trip to triage to make you think the temperature outside is actually reasonable, the hospital is hotter than the sun. Pack fans in those hospital bags ladies!

I had another hypo this morning (in Asda, I don't recommend trying it) followed by 4 hours of no movements so had to go in. Very tricky baby who was not loving being monitored so took a while. All ok, the consultant believes it was an unexplained hypo. I disagree but anyway.

Two weeks ago they said that if I had one more hypo they would admit me and deliver the baby early so I'm relieved but confused! I swear I get a different story everytime I go in.

Probably depends on who you speak to and their mood that day stroan Confused

Re toe nails there was a lot of tricky bending and i wont be doing it again!

I need to get a new fan. Dc4 has broken the one i bought for my bag.

IVEgottheDECAF · 25/07/2019 15:49

Glad all ok btw stroan

Looking forward to an update from April

Fortheloveofscience · 25/07/2019 15:59

Glad the monitoring was ok stroan but different doctors telling you different things can’t be hugely reassuring. When’s your next review booked for?

Aside from the fact you’re not yet at term, practically speaking would it be a disaster for you to meet baby early?

kyles101 · 25/07/2019 16:01

Oh @Stroan what a pain. Must be worrying. It's awful when you can't see the same person twice... and I just think Hmm when you're getting so much conflicting advice from different medical professionals. Surely it should all be along the same vein?

For example, loads of the predicted weights I've seen on here are around about what my predicted weight is at the same gestation or sometimes later... yet they seem to want to have kittens about it at my trust...? Meh, he midwife I spoke to at the weekend said just to avoid induction as the first priority, she actually delivers babies all day long so I'm going with her.

Stroan · 25/07/2019 16:09

This was actually the same doctor. She told me to tell triage if I had any hypos so they called her and she spoke to me on the phone. She's lovely and really good, but it's so infuriating.

Obviously, I'm grateful not to have been admitted for delivery but it's really messing with my head.

@fortheloveofscience no, I don't think it would. He's already about 6lbs, I'd like to get to 35 weeks ideally. I'm having real difficulty believing that my body is capable of keeping a baby safe and just can't get my head round things still being ok by 39 weeks.

IVEgottheDECAF · 25/07/2019 16:21

When are you next seeing someone stroan?

Stroan · 25/07/2019 16:25

Growth scan and consultant in 12 days.

Fun and games Stroan... I guess the whole thing is so complicated, they are looking at a ton of different factors and then using their judgement. So disconcerting!!

boodles101 · 25/07/2019 16:38

Glad all is ok stroan but yeah frustrating that the doctor is telling you different things. Think you definitely need to be prepared for baby to come earlier than 39 weeks!

Decaf April posted on our Facebook group and baby is doing well, she included a photo and he is gorgeous. I hope she won't mind me saying on here.

IVEgottheDECAF · 25/07/2019 16:39

That is good thank you boodles Grin

Karigan195 · 25/07/2019 16:47

@Stroan appreciate how you feel. I hope everything is ok and they must be happy with baby’s monitoring or surely they would have you in.

I feel much the same. It’s been one thing after another this week. First GD then yesterday get told my blood pressure is in hyper tension levels. So worried about getting this baby out safely too. Doesn’t help that internet’s all ‘got gd 5 times more likely to have still birth, older than 40 add on another few digits to that, oh and high blood pressure add a few more’. It’s hardly conducive to relaxing!!!!!

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 25/07/2019 17:02

Oh Stroan how stressful! It's hard to put your faith in a doctor who is inconsistent ay? I hope you are having a nice rest this afternoon.

Is there a way I can be added to the Facebook group please?

Tefiti2 · 25/07/2019 17:42

That’s really difficult @Stroan - 12 days away seems far considering your recent problems, would they squeeze you in for a review sooner?

I’ll PM you @dennis!

db92 · 25/07/2019 17:57

@Tefiti2 can I be added to the Facebook group too please?

@April88 congratulations! I hope you're both doing well.

@Stroan how far gone are you now?

Puglover88 · 25/07/2019 18:19

@Stroan could you ask for a sooner scan for your reassurance? Big hugs Flowers

@Karigan195 google is not a pregnant woman’s friend! I’ve been freaked out so many times by things I’ve read on the internet!

Has anyone else had a MW appointment where they’ve pushed down quite hard to feel baby? My baby’s head is really low in my pelvis and it was really uncomfortable when the MW pushed down!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 25/07/2019 18:21

@Karigan195 sorry to hear about your blood pressure - I’m on high alert for it as well. What were your numbers? Have they put you on any medication?
