Megan what’s happening with the pram/John Lewis situ?

Tefiti2 · 24/07/2019 15:54

Wow @April88 huge congratulations!! Flowers Hope you are able to get lots of cuddles with baby Jacob and are recovering well!

iano · 24/07/2019 18:11

Many congratulations @April88! Lovely name. Hope Jacob continues to thrive!

Dipsy77 · 24/07/2019 19:13

Wow @April88 congratulations xx

Dyra · 24/07/2019 19:30

Congratulations @April88. Hope you both recover quickly.

Whisky2014 · 24/07/2019 19:37

Had my 34 week appointment today. Well, im actually 35 weeks today. Next time I see them I'll have finished work...woohoo

All seems fine but they took blood to check my iron levels.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/07/2019 20:33

I cant work out if my feet are starting to swell, if i cant tell then its not bad enough to be an issue i assume?

happydays00 · 24/07/2019 21:15

@April88 congratulations!! How're you feeling?

@IVEgottheDECAF I think if you're not sure, there's no need to panic. I also think in this heat the majority of our feet will be swelling 😬😬 it is too bloody hot!!!!

My best friend has been in labour for 24 hours and apparently the ward is hotter than hell, I feel so, so sorry for her. Whilst simultaneously praying this ridiculous heat wave has passed in the next few weeks!

Stroan · 24/07/2019 21:24

Mine are definitely swollen but it's the heat and being on my feet more today. I'd maybe try soaking your feet and seeing if that makes any difference?

Florencenotflo · 24/07/2019 21:28

My feet and ankles have swolllen too @IVEgottheDECAF but it's no wonder really.

I hate to state the bloody obvious but this is bloody miserable. I love a good summer, but this is just no fun. Dd wanted to do all sorts today which I had to say no to, because I just couldn't be arsed with the park or soft play or the beach. We agreed on feeding the ducks and a play in the garden with the hose. Luckily she found that entertaining enough. I'm at work tomorrow which isn't much better, inadequate air con and stupid fucking colleagues asking if I'm a bit hot, is it just one in there, (shocked face) when I say I have 5 weeks left... I'm a little ray of sunshine today 😂🙄

Midwife appointment was ok though, no concerns which is all that matters! Next appointment is at 37 weeks and she said we'd discuss birth plan more then. I'm seeing the consultant next week about the rouge head measurements, they may or may not suggest a c section so I'm not making any plans until after that appointment.

kyles101 · 24/07/2019 21:47

Congratulations @April88 welcome to the world Jacob! Will definitely be getting my bag finished this weekend now!!

12 more days at work, it's starting to feel like a slog, especially working right through from 7:30 - 4:30 without a break today. Fried my brain a little! Had a lovely dip in the paddling pool with dh and a bbq this evening through so that was nice.

Dyra · 24/07/2019 22:29

My feet have gone up at least a full size with swelling. I also had to take off my wedding ring a last week, as it was in real danger of getting stuck. It's not pre-eclampsia. I swell in heat anyway, it just seems more drastic when pregnant.

11 shifts left to go over the next 5 weeks.... Cannot wait. Though, looking at the weather forecast for tomorrow, for some reason I would much sooner be at work in an air-conditioned theatre, rather than having a day off in my not air-conditioned house. Can't begin to think why....

Exitstrategist · 25/07/2019 07:07

Congratulations on baby Jacob! Hope you’re doing well. Can’t believe I only have seven weeks left- nothing packed or sorted yet! Crazy to be heavily pregnant on what is expected to be the hottest day in UK records. Try to keep cool everyone!

jazzyjellybeans · 25/07/2019 08:04

Congratulations @April88. Love the name. I hope you and Jacob are doing ok this morning.

IVEgottheDECAF · 25/07/2019 08:12

34 weeks today!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 25/07/2019 10:46

Well managed to get into the office ok this morning - overground train had a/c and then got a seat on the (not too baking yet) underground. My secretary told me she thinks I’m absolutely barking for coming in but yesterday was so bloody unbearable at home that the relative bliss of sitting in my ice cold office feels worth it (at this point!). Slightly dreading the descent into the bowels of the earth at the end of the day though 😬 got a portable fan ready and wearing some cycle shorts under my dress to avoid thigh chafe-age!

I’m actually chilly here at the moment!

Megan2018 · 25/07/2019 10:51

It's 32 in my office as no air con, but I'm surviving! I am just refusing to walk very far or do much at all.
My car is lovely to commute in so it's not too bad. But I am not being massively productive!

DustyDoorframes · 25/07/2019 12:22

Fly by post from a very very hot Europe... all my travel has gone awry, and we are all made of sweat. No doubt you all are too! Glad to see some employers are being sensible and not insisting on people coming in.
I've given up hope of catching up with the thread before posting, I've got as far as yesterday evening.
Aaaah @April88 congrats!!! Looks like mat leave it is! Hope everything is going super smoothly and boringly now.
@Stroan woot re starting mat leave! And wtf re your husband getting your medical calls!! Breach of confidentiality much??
@boodles101 so glad the consultant was reassuring! And v glad you are getting a rescan.

Karigan195 · 25/07/2019 12:34

Don’t worry Dusty. I gave up hope of catching up with us lot before posting ages ago 😂

Megan2018 · 25/07/2019 12:38

@Moraxella the pram saga continues - John Lewis allegedly trying to get a replacement part from iCandy, this is yet to materialise though. DH had to give them the serial and batch numbers a week ago and heard nothing since.

KR30 · 25/07/2019 12:44

@April88 huge congratulations!

Must make sure the bag is packed pre-growth scan appointment, scary!

Same on the swollen feet as the rest of you, I am absolutely hating living in flip flops now Angry

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 25/07/2019 13:11

This heat is entirely unnecessary. Dr Google says your core body temperature rises by aprox 1 degree in late pregnancy, I call a LIE. I am at least as hot as a small angry volcano.

We are off to a festival tomorrow and very typically the forecast for the entire weekend is rain showers and storms...

Karigan195 · 25/07/2019 13:20

That sounds lovely right now. Have a good dance in the rain where you won’t overheat 😂

IVEgottheDECAF · 25/07/2019 13:24

I am full on hiding in the house. 31 degrees out there. Yuck.

Had the HV visit, mainly because i never got around to cancelling it! It was ok. She didnt tell me anything i didnt know. She didnt want to snoop around or anything either.

Pelvis is so sore. Everytime i stand up or sit down or do anything its just there Sad

challengeyourreality · 25/07/2019 13:33

Congratulations @April88, hope all is well with you both.
Sweltering in this heat, not helped that my DM is visiting for a few days. Usually we have a wonderful bond but this time it's just not going well. I am (probably irrationally) infuriated by her and she even said she doesn't know why she comes over Hmm great thing to say when you grandchildren are in earshot... Anyway...
Can't wait for the cooler weather this weekend, this heat is not for me - 39 degrees today and no air conditioning to speak of. Feeling so annoyed at myself for not having enough money aside to buy a dyson pure cool and a pram, someone shake me out of my entitled attitude!
In other news, DS accidentally pulled out his chair into my stomach yesterday so am to be monitoring movements for a few days as it was quite a heavy blow.
Good news is that baby seems to have turned so thank you for the spinning babies recommendation yesterday! I think those exercises may have been what helped.
