@April88. Oh my. Congratulations. Here’s to little Jacob. Hopefully he’ll be out of NICU and in your arms soon

easterbuns1 · 24/07/2019 12:23

Congratulations @April88, hope Jacob thrives now he has safely arrived and you take care of yourself too.

TheCraicDealer · 24/07/2019 12:24

Congratulations April! That's fabulous news, glad to hear he's doing well Smile

Megan2018 · 24/07/2019 12:24

Huge congratulations @April88 and welcome to the world baby Jacob!!
Hope you are both home soon.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/07/2019 12:25

The last bits (i think) for my hospital bag are being delivered later!

boodles101 · 24/07/2019 12:27

Congrats April hoping he doesn't have to stay too long in NICU. Love the name too.

Megan2018 · 24/07/2019 12:28

My bags are packed, just lack phone charger and some more snacks. But enough to cope with an emergency dash!
I can’t decide what to wear in labour though as was hanging on to see if we get induction/ section booked.

Baby is madly active today! Yesterday I was almost concerned as they were less obvious movements but today we’ve not stopped and are much more “normal”.

boodles101 · 24/07/2019 12:29

I had my consultant appt this morning. She has disregarded Fridays scan saying she thinks the measurements are inaccurate and she's not worried about the blood flow. For reassurance she's booked a rescan with the fetal medicine special so will hopefully get accurate results and can discuss them with me immediately so no waiting around for hours after.
Also request put in for ELCS between 37-38 weeks but will get a specific date after this rescan to see if it needs to be earlier or not.
Feeling alot less worried now.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/07/2019 12:29

I think i might put a baby clothes wash on when my current bedding load is finished

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/07/2019 12:30

When is the rescan boodles

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 24/07/2019 12:36

Aww congratulations @April88! Wishing you a speedy recovery and your little one a short stay in NICU xx

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 24/07/2019 12:41

I've honestly not even thought about my hospital bag yet!

boodles101 · 24/07/2019 12:42

decaf next Thursday. So won't be waiting too long.

KnobJockey · 24/07/2019 12:43

April congratulations! I'm very glad Jacob is healthy and doing well.

Also, that's fucking scary that baby number 2 is here! I'm not ready!

Megan, bump has been fairly quiet for me today- I've felt enough movements not to be worried, but it's definitely not been it's usual wriggly self. I'm guessing that the extra heat and lethargy affects everyone involved!

Noodles, do you have to wait long for the re scan? Glad it's better news! It's interesting to hear from others who have had growth scans- I had one last week, after the bump measuring 3 weeks ahead, 2 weeks ahead and then not grown over a 3 week period. The scan put me from being on about the 110th centile down to the 79th, which is much better! Little one weighed in at 4lb8 at 31+3, which seemed massive, but seems about right from everyone else's scans.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/07/2019 12:50

I reckon we may start seeing babies arriving almost weekly now, some posters are due in August !

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 24/07/2019 12:51

@DennisSkinnersMolotov same - I’ve got a small suitcase with some maternity pads and big pants thrown in it and that’s it at the moment.

Had my last booked in growth scan yesterday (all fine and placenta now well out of the way thankfully) and then saw my midwife today - all fine with the baby, but broke down in tears when she asked how l was feeling generally and I poured out my work woes to her. Apparently I was the third pregnant woman in tears she’s seen today! She was going through tissues at some rate!

BBell2 · 24/07/2019 13:08

@April88 congratulations, hope you recovery starts well and you get to hold little Jacob very soon X

NotwhereIshouldbe · 24/07/2019 13:32

Congratulations @April88 what a lovely name! Hope you and little one are doing well!

I’m in the South East so not looking forward to the 39 degrees forecasted for tomorrow 😱 Manager has told me not to work tomorrow as they’re all worried I might end up going into labour early 😂 I do a lot of driving for a living and the roads have been terrible, loads of cars on fire on the motorway and my air con has been temperamental so these last couple of days have been horrendous. But it’s my last week at work and then I can just put my feet up! I’m 34+1 so not long to go 😳 Hope everyone else is managing to stay cool and make good use of paddling pools and ice lollies! 🍧

Stroan · 24/07/2019 13:43

Congratulations @april88 and welcome baby Jacob! Wishing you both a speedy recovery, sounds like you are being well taken care of.

That's really reassuring @boodles101 you must feel relieved! When is the next scan?

My hospital have just called my husband (WTF!) and left a message saying I need to start iron tablets. Which I've been on for ages and we discussed yesterday...

Wow april88 congratulations!!!

RonaldWeasley · 24/07/2019 14:11

Huge congratulations @April88! Love the name Jacob, would have been on my list if it wasn't already my nephew's name. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a short NICU stay for your little one x

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 24/07/2019 14:28

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri I can't remember touching mine last time. I mean, I must have done because we came home dressed but it's a total blur as to what I did/ didn't need.

Puglover88 · 24/07/2019 14:45

Congratulations!! @April88 hope your little boy is doing well and wishing you a speedy recovery too 😊 xx

Karigan195 · 24/07/2019 14:46

@IVEgottheDECAF just had that same conversation with the consultant who happens to work Wednesday’s being the only days I currently have busy. She suggested a growth scan on 14.8.19 and I asked what the point was as I’ll be 38 weeks then!
