AKA the wobble Blush

Whisky2014 · 24/07/2019 09:08

I'm so glad it's a cooler day today. It was very hot yesterday and through the night. I had the wild does open and about 4am had a thunderstorm. It's been raining and is grey so much for bearable :D

Karigan195 · 24/07/2019 09:11

I was up at 1am trying to find my poor little cat who was out in the storm. He was not a happy kitty when I found him and now I’m supposed to be working before going to the gestational diabetes clinic for the afternoon and just cannot be bothered!

Megan2018 · 24/07/2019 09:15

I slept fine, managed ok yesterday as long as I was in the office, went out as little as poss. Our house is well insulated though and stays very cool in the heat.
Boiling here today already, but my car is an oasis to commute in-it is very fancy and I can pre-cool it for departure (or defrost/heat in winter) via an app. It is so handy!
Back to back meetings today though 10-4. Yuck.
Fortunately this week is my last full on week, the next 3 are much easier.

Stroan · 24/07/2019 09:37

Still too hot for me here in central Scotland. Made it to work (last day!) and my hair feels damp and sweaty. It's a good look!

I debated staying at home and doing my last day tomorrow but it's supposed to be even hotter. The air pressure is just so oppressive.

I am sure I saw every half hour on the clock last night, at least. Very much looking forward to some mat leave naps starting tomorrow.

@tefiti2 maternity leggings I think. I probably wore them for the first 3 months as well!

Leggings are an awesome lifesaver at times like this 😂

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/07/2019 10:18

Hmmm my mn has gone weird. Apparently i havent made any posts recently! Anyone else?

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 24/07/2019 10:18

It's strange to think they might be so very different isn't it @BBell2?

Fuck it's hot. As soon as I'd finished working in my pants yesterday I ran a cold bath and wallowed in it for an hour, I think I may do the same in my lunchbreak today. DH spritzed me intermittently with the plant water spray when we were watching TV last night.
I've got really long thick hair that's hard to tie up without headaches so have fashioned some sort of demented heidi thing with plaits and pins. I look like a dick.

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 24/07/2019 10:20

@IVEgottheDECAF it's the same for me.

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 24/07/2019 10:32

Anyone lost pages? I was on page 6 earlier but it's down to 4 now.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/07/2019 10:34

Me Dennis

Stroan · 24/07/2019 10:36

Yup, MN is clearly affected by the heat too.

easterbuns1 · 24/07/2019 10:36

@Tefiti2 think I wore loose joggers last time but I've packed maternity leggings this time with high waist so they don't rub in section scar.

My pelvis is killing me today and I didn't even do much yesterday. I think I've got to the crutches point again 😔

TheCraicDealer · 24/07/2019 10:38

DH spritzed me intermittently with the plant water spray when we were watching TV last night.

GrinGrinGrin true love right there @DennisSkinnersMolotov!!!! What a gent!

It's a reasonable 21 degrees here, not supposed to get any hotter than 23 later. It's been bearable but my hands and feet have swollen so I've had to take my rings off Sad really do feel for anyone living further south who has to do a commute.

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 24/07/2019 11:09

It's 26 degrees here in the north east, I feel for those hitting 30+.

Rings came off yesterday too. Feel naked without them (first time I've taken my wedding rings off other than when baking in 9 years).

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/07/2019 11:11

23 here. 32 expected tomorrow Shock

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 24/07/2019 11:19

It’s 28 here at the moment (Berkshire) going up to 30 later on. Tomorrow is 38 (!!!) and I’ve got to bloody commute into London 😭 It’ll be sweaty everything. No clue what to wear to look professional but also not like a chicken roasting in the oven

stormtrooperjulian · 24/07/2019 11:31

My rings had to come off yesterday too. Are the puffy fingers likely to be a permanent thing now or will it go away when the weather cools down again?

TheCraicDealer · 24/07/2019 11:40

BridgetJonesDaiquiri everyone will be in the same boat, even those who aren't 8mos pregnant! Hopefully you get plenty of sympathy from whoever you're meeting and a seat on the train/tube.

Our boss brought in ice lollies yesterday for everyone- after five kids himself he knows the way to a pregnant woman's heart, clearly.

Fortheloveofscience · 24/07/2019 12:03

Last night was a bit of a shambles. Didn’t get to sleep until about 12.30 as too hot and uncomfy. Woke up at 1.15 because of the storm, and awful heartburn. Then had a massive fright when I reached down next to the bed for another pillow and instead had my hand licked by my little dog (who normally sleeps in a basket on the landing but was obviously worried about the storm). Woke up DH.

Got up, had gaviscon, fixed the heartburn, reassured the dog and when the storm had passed about 3.00 managed to get back to sleep.

Woke up at 4 for a pee.

Woke up at 5.45 because the cat decided it was morning so jumped up on the bed with all claws out and landed straight on my bare leg. Woke up DH again.

Now supposed to be working on a paper my supervisor wants ready to send to journals before ML starts, in fact I’ve been through my pens, tested them all and reorganised my stationery drawer and now considering going for a lie down and to watch more positive birth company videos.

Fortheloveofscience · 24/07/2019 12:08

I’ve found that actually people on public transport, especially tubes, seem to get less sympathetic as conditions worsen. A couple of weeks ago people were falling over themselves to give me space, offering seats etc but on Monday and for a lot of last week (busier than usual due to delays) I was barged a lot by people pushing in front of me to get on/off and people weren’t letting me move past to the seats unless I pointedly asked. Got really quite cross and felt vulnerable for pretty much the first time.

BridgetJones hope you’ve encountered considerate people on your commute this morning.

Megan2018 · 24/07/2019 12:09

My fingers/rings are still fine but my feet are hideous! Only one pair of old tatty sandals fit. Its not a good look!!

First of my NCT group is in early labour, another has planned section next week for breech. Still 7 weeks and 1 day to go here. Time is going so slowly!!

April88 · 24/07/2019 12:13

Thanks for all your well wishes!

Jacob arrived at 1:32 this morning by ‘emergency’ c section. I had a scan yesterday and he was measuring small and my placenta was intermittent so they wanted him out within 24 hours.

He weighed 3lb 10, in NICU but doing really well Smile was due 31st August so pretty early. Get your hospital bags packed ladies!

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/07/2019 12:17

Congratulation April Flowers Bear

Fortheloveofscience · 24/07/2019 12:18

Oh wow April huge congratulations, I hope you are able to get some rest in hospital.

Hope Jacob continues to do well and is able to come out of NICU soon. Lovely name!
