Ooo happydays weird symptoms there, hoping they get to the bottom of it and you don't have PE.

I've spent the day at the spa with some friends, had a lovely facial and generally just relaxed. Caught up with friends which was really nice. It was just sooooo hot in the spa/pool area it's completely wiped me out! They also had a strange offer on, buy some creams/lotions etc and get £20 off. But there was no minimum spend so I obviously just picked a nice moisturiser that cost £20 and then didn't have to pay for it. Not sure they really meant it to be like that but hey I got a nice freebie!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 19:21

Bargain boodles!

Period like cramping again since 1ish everytime i try and sit down!

Florencenotflo · 03/08/2019 19:39

I've had similar since yesterday evening @IVEgottheDECAF period type pains and braxton hicks are getting more regular too. I'm trying not to get my hopes up that it means something, but I didn't have so much as a twinge with dd. Do you find it starts or gets worse when you change activity? So if I'm walking around then sit down, they start. Or go from sitting for a long ish period of time to walking around they start. Very odd!

I've made a start on my hospital bag too 🎉 packed a bag for baby, so that's fine. I've half heartedly thrown some stuff in a bag for me for labour/straight after. Need to add some toiletries and sort it out properly tomorrow. Then I'll get another one sorted at some point of stuff I'll need if I'm in for any length of time. And snacks!! I need to sort out snacks!! The food was a bit hit and miss last time.

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 19:44

florence i have had it on/off since mid of last week, was like this for near 2 weeks with dc2, a few days dc1 and dc4. Didnt have anything before full on contractions with dc3.

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 19:49

Oh and it starts when i sit or lie down. If i get up while its happening it doesnt stop right away but once that cramp has passed i dont usually get another. Plenty of back ache too.

Stroan · 03/08/2019 20:44

Ooh @ivegotthedecaf I think you're having an August baby!

Is anyone on ranitidine? The consultant put me on it even though I said I didn't really have heartburn (the odd night where Peptac was totally fine) because she said it would help with the nausea. Except I've had bad heartburn ever since! Total coincidence?

@dustydoorframes how hot has it been for you? Hope you managed to relax even a tiny bit.

I've got a growth scan and consultant on Tuesday, weekly appointments from now on. It's a different consultant - he's been a bit odd in the past! Mental health team have been utterly useless. Literally do nothing, I don't think they've even communicated with the hospital team once. But, the team leader at my community midwife has stepped in and is arranging a multi disciplinary meeting to make sure everyone starts communicating. And she's getting me seen by a specialist mental health midwife too. She was wonderful!

I would like an August baby! Mid August and then i have a couple of weeks before kids back at school where i can actually walk and stuff!

Florencenotflo · 03/08/2019 21:24

@Stroan it sounds like she's in your corner then. It sounds so frustrating though, when you are actually asking for help!

@IVEgottheDECAF I'd go for mid August too!! Due date is 27th August but I've been convinced this one will be early for a while.

Slightly changing the subject but nappy bins. Specifically the tommee tippee type ones that 'wrap' the nappy. Are they worth it, do they actually contain the smell? When I had Dd our outside bin was about 10 steps from the front door. So dirty nappies went straight out. But now where we are, there are 10 houses around a courtyard and our bins are in a store completely separate and I can't see the front door from the bins. Plus I can't leave a 3 year old and baby alone while I chuck a nappy! Fine if the weather is ok, they can come with me, but if it's pissing down I really don't want them festering in the kitchen bin. May be overthinking this... 🙈

Stroan · 03/08/2019 21:27

@florencenotflo yeah, they are pretty good as long as you don't let them get completely rammed full before emptying.

DustyDoorframes · 03/08/2019 21:52

@Stroan woot for the team leader! V glad she's taking the initiative in connecting people! V frustrating re changing consultant though, and that the MH team are being useless.

It's not been THAT hot, high twenties/low thirties, but beaches are not much fun when there is no comfy way to lie down and the sun is too hot and the water bottles get sandy and you (ie me) are just big and grumpy. Lesson learned... in the hills now which is much better.

@IVEgottheDECAF sounds good for your mid August birthday! Fingers crossed...

I've still got a full 8 weeks to go. Feels an impossibly long time, and I already feel impossibly huge. @boodles101 I keep thinking of your double bump and feeling like a wimp- you are a superwoman! (Which is clearly more impressive than being a superman, come on- one flies through the air, one makes two completely new people at once with her belly!)

Florencenotflo · 03/08/2019 21:52

Thank you @Stroan seen one on a Facebook selling site. Hardly used, £20 with a spare cartridge. Might give it a go.

Stroan · 03/08/2019 21:59

@florencenotflo the cartridges are the pricey part. They last a while though.

@dustydoorframes it's just that the other consultant is on holiday. It's a shared clinic anyway, and he might actually be a bit more willing to listen. Worth a try.

Beach does not sound like fun, glad you've found some respite in the hills.

I have less than 4 weeks to go now, guaranteed. But that feels impossible too. I'd forgotten how tough the last slog can be. If one more person tells me to make the most of mat leave, I will scream.

florence you can probably pick one up cheaper than that! I have an angelcare one it was a fiver brand new!

ColdCottage · 03/08/2019 22:35

Best free app for monitoring breast feeding sides/times? I used to use notes when I had my son 5 years ago but that's a faff.

boodles101 · 04/08/2019 07:00

Thanks dusty I'm not superwoman though, just quite fortunate that things are going quite well for me. I don't have GD, SPD, no sickness or some of the other things you guys here are suffering from. I just have double the weight to carry, which luckily I'm normally a fit and active person so it's been ok up til now. My biggest problem is one or both twins causing me havoc at night. But that's gonna be the same for everyone soon when all the babies are here!

IVEgottheDECAF · 04/08/2019 07:06

Wow i feel like someone has given me a right kicking in some steel toe cap boots. Nearly pissed myself in an attempt to get to the toilet in the middle of the night. I may need a bed pan. Sexy.

Florencenotflo · 04/08/2019 08:14

Thanks @IVEgottheDECAF I've just seen the one being sold on Facebook is £29.99 in mothercare but on a buy one get one free offer. Guess they are selling the 'free' one! Thanks for the link to the boots one. DH just said stick the nappies in a bag in the garden and he'll take them out 😂 might get the £6 one though.

And a bed pan sounds like a genius idea. I don't think DH would Bay an eye lid if I suggested it unfortunately 😂 he came home yesterday to me cleaning wearing his boxers. They are so comfy! None of my shorts fit now and I was boiling!

boodles101 · 04/08/2019 08:33

I'll take a bed pan too please!

Florencenotflo · 04/08/2019 09:19

Would a bed pan be easy though? Just thinking, I've never used one, but I'm not sure I could get myself on and off it without spillage. Surely Tena lady pants would be better?

IVEgottheDECAF · 04/08/2019 09:24

Honestly id go for a catheter and a bag right now! Think baby has moved even lower overnight and i am now weeing near constantly

Florencenotflo · 04/08/2019 09:41

It's weird isn't it. During the day I don't feel like I'm emptying my bladder fully. So all the while I'm upright and walking I need a wee, as soon as I sit down on the loo, nothing. I've tried rocking and still it's just a dribble. Stand back up and I'm desperate again.

The best wee of the day is first thing in the morning, now I'm wondering if it's where I'm laying down, it's shifting baby off of my bladder or something?

Trying to drink more water, the last thing I need is a UTI or something.

Megan2018 · 04/08/2019 09:43

During the day I hardly wee at at, yet as soon as I am in bed I need to go all the time. Averaging 5 wees overnight, doing my head in!
I could not aim in a bedpan though sadly and actually find sitting in the loo really comfy, to the point I’ve contemplated just sleeping on it all night Grin

IVEgottheDECAF · 04/08/2019 09:55

I have been twice since my last post and when i can be arsed walking up the stairs i will go again

Just bought these nursing pyjamas from Asda for £15. I think I might live in these until baby is here, they’re super comfy!
