Well a strange one causing some head scratching as my blood pressure is low, no protein in my urine but I still have every pre eclampsia symptom going so they reviewing me still.

I'm 34+6 today I think, have had my steroids so if it is pre eclampsia they will just deliver baby. Waiting for doctor to come and review me now as my blood pressure is weirdly low 80/48 and pulse rate far too high. Draaaaamas.

Karigan195 · 03/08/2019 09:15

Wow that is a weird one! Keeping everything crossed for you.

Stroan · 03/08/2019 09:18

@happydays00 you are a medical marvel! But in the right place for when they figure out what's going on. Hope you are feeling ok today.

@happydays00 that’s odd but as Stroan said, at least you’re in the right place and they’re monitoring you.

On a completely unrelated note, I’m massively craving a McDonald’s today! 😬 I’m having healthy meals (although been snacking lots in between!) so I’m thinking I can treat myself!

easterbuns1 · 03/08/2019 09:35

@happydays00 that is a strange one! Hopefully they get to the bottom of it soon.

Sorry to hear others are struggling too, I'm in same camp although not been admitted or anything particularly medical i just feel awful, can't walk and keep vomiting.

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 09:35

I just dont feel like i have space for much food! About to force some toast in!

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 09:36

easter the lack of being able to walk is getting me down! I havent been out of the house since last monday Blush

KnobJockey · 03/08/2019 10:27

Glad to hear it's not just me neglecting food- it just feels like it's stuck in my gullet when I eat, like there's not enough room for it. Totally not eating healthy, just had a slice of bolognaise pizza and half a pack of biscuits for my breakfast.

Happydays00 wow! You could have a baby by tonight!

Whisky2014 · 03/08/2019 10:33

I'm laughing at you guys not eating much. I'm completely the opposite. Omg I had a 3 course meal last night!! I can't stop eating. Dreading the weight I'll have to burn off.

I've got my prosecco tea party thingy later (my "this is not a baby shower, it's a celebration of finishing work and becoming a mum") should be good. The only thing I specified I wanted at the party was cake hehe Everyone will be sipping prosecco so I'll probably have 1 glass. That'll be ok right? I'm 36+3

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 10:35

Maybe someone will give you the gift of acrylics for your party whisky! I am sure the op of that thread was starting similar threads in last couple week but under another name!

Stroan · 03/08/2019 10:36

@whisky2014 yep, totally fine. Jealous of the cake! I've made a list of cakes that I want my Mum to make me when she's looking after DD while I have the baby Blush

@IVEgottheDECAF
Haha god that thread has wound me up! If you search the original op name there's loads of threads she started by her in the last week or so. I have 0 tolerance for things like that, I should have avoided it entirely!

@Stroan hehe that's what mums are for! :)

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 10:46

The threads i think were her last week / week before all got deleted by MN whisky they had a very similar tone / subject matter, i think its just someone wanting to argue tbh!

kyles101 · 03/08/2019 10:47

Oooh I've been dreaming of cake 🤤 maybe that's why I'm drooling so much in my sleep. I'm going to do so much baking when bubs is here and I can eat cake!

Our wedding anniversary today so I think I'll be joining you in a glass of Prosecco @Whisky2014🥂

Whisky2014 · 03/08/2019 10:50

@IVEgottheDECAF mmm i do think there is something fishy about it. Im not gona post any more.

@kyles101 yep, cake is the way forward! I took 2 sheet cakes in to work yesterday and they went down a treat (bought from Tesco, no way I have energy to make the cake AND eat it haha)
Happy anniversary! Definitely have a drink to celebrate! Cheers!

happydays00 · 03/08/2019 10:55

Also glad to see people are struggling to stick to 3 healthy meals. All I want is biscuits, chocolate and cake. And even that sometimes feels like a task to cram in with the lack of space!!!

I'm very much leaning towards this not being pre eclampsia and praying I can be out of here by tonight. Maybe I'm being optimistic but my fingers are firmly crossed!! I just don't feel ready to have this baby yet!

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 11:02

Fingers crossed for you happydays

Karigan195 · 03/08/2019 11:45

I found Keto cake recipes which you can have even with gestational diabetes. Got my dad to make me a lemon cake one as cakes ares not my forte and it’s not only delicious but an hour after eating it bloods were 5.3!

Stroan · 03/08/2019 12:08

The brownie and cookie slice recipes from the GDUK website are good, but just not quite the same sugary hit as a proper cake.

Fingers crossed @happydays00

kyles101 · 03/08/2019 13:14

Oh @Karigan195 I love lemon cake - where did you find the recipe?

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 13:39

I want cake now Sad

Moraxella · 03/08/2019 13:42

@whisky I had champagne the other day (one glass) and bloody loved it. For breakfast I’ve eaten leftover cold takeaway curry. With a prenatal vitamin chaser (first time I have remembered in last few weeks) just in case. I feel no guilt, just reflux.

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/08/2019 13:46

I am guessing the answer to this is no but ..... anyone think its acceptable for me to take all 3 iron tablets at once instead of throughout the day?

DustyDoorframes · 03/08/2019 13:49

Flyby post to say good luck @happydays00!! Hopefully not PE, fingers crossed.
Thanks for checking in @Stroan , I've been thinking of you and your blood sugars. Have you got another appointment with the consultant coming up? Are your MH team any help with handling it all? Even without all the doubt and worry, blood sugars messing about are bound to make you feel pretty awful on every level!!

Re group B strep- the reason it's not routinely tested for is that it really comes and goes, so like testing for a cold and expecting the result to stay the same three weeks later. And of course IV antibiotics have downsides, so testing leads to a lot of over treatment, and also a lot of missed treatment (for the people who didn't have it when they tested but did when they gave birth). With better knowledge of how important gut bacteria is (for babies and adults), and antibiotic resistance, avoiding over treatment gets more important. So it's a real weigh up in each circumstance!

My pearl of wisdom for the week is- holidays in the Med on August are not suitable for people who are 30+ weeks pregnant. That is all.

DustyDoorframes · 03/08/2019 13:50

@IVEgottheDECAF might be more likely to upset your digestion???
