@KnobJockey usually you would be able to speak through a Braxton hicks. Sounds like you have been having some v, v strong ones!! I would just keep an eye on these new pains - see if they get any more frequent/ stronger and call your labour ward if you have concerns. How many weeks are you now?

Also sorry for those having shitty sleeps - I was awake from 2:30 on Wednesday night (no floor scrubbing for me @Moraxella !!) so my 5:30 wake up this morning was basically a lie in. Supposed to have started my bed rest yesterday (which didn't happen). Currently working from bed now and struggling. If I just could get a lottery win and not worry about money life would be considerably easier!!

kyles101 · 02/08/2019 11:18

Enjoy your last days @boodles101 and @Whisky2014 - you did tell your manager about the presentation so they only have themselves to blame. As you say, soon you'll not give a tiny rats bottom anyway!

Didn't sleep too badly myself although did wake myself with the amount of dribble I had produced is this some kind of strange symptom! Oh, also think I've had some bh over the last couple of days @KnobJockey - I'm not entirely sure though as I don't really know how to describe them, kind of tense and yes I suppose take breath away, like a wheeze, but not at all painful, I might be imagining it 🤷‍♀️ And have period pain type back ache... now and then.

One week at work! My cover is truly shite, sooooo slow!

Karigan195 · 02/08/2019 11:53

Just been out to check on the horses and the rain from the last few days has brought out horrendous rain scald on my boy. So yeah have to stable him and go back to mucking our right when energy is very low 🤦‍♀️

Megan2018 · 02/08/2019 12:19

@karigan195 Doh! That’s annoying, this weather has been so weird though hasn't it. I’ve been mucking out throughout as mine has to be stabled during the day in Spring/Summer on fat camp. But fortunately it is a smaller day bed so not too bad. But been lugging hay and water which is getting harder! As is pushing the barrow up the muck trailer ramp. Still it is pretty much my only exercise.

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/08/2019 13:34

I have FINALLY put on the first load of baby washing!

Whisky2014 · 02/08/2019 14:40

Way hay decaf! Another step forward :)

Well, that's it! I'm finished work...really weird feeling actually!! I tpok on 2 cakes so the offuxe was happy with that. AND on another note, my manager was completely fine! Really surprised as she has made others lives hell for not doing theirs. I haven't seen her though, she's in a different area so I'm gona have to call her and do a last catch up.
But ahhhh feels good to know I can relax now.

To the people envious about me and boodles finishing up...just remember we will likely be going back before you too. So in a year I'll be saying "Oh god back to work tomorrow" and everyone else will be like "I've got another month!" And then I'll be the jealous one hehe

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/08/2019 14:50

My maternity pay runs out in April Sad

Whisky2014 · 02/08/2019 14:56

So did you get that from when you were signed off? Does you being off sick mean you get less time with the baby? Sad

boodles101 · 02/08/2019 15:15

Well done whiskey just under 2 hours left for me. Colleagues have given me a lovely box of pamper goodies for myself, which is great seeing I have loads of baby stuff already.

Go you decaf with the washing!

challengeyourreality · 02/08/2019 15:32

Headed to my scan this afternoon with urine sample to check if the pain was an infection but it seems it's neither that nor wind. Had an internal scan and cervix seems to look as it should at 34 weeks. Baby heart rate is far too high though so I'm being moitored again just now to check what's going on. Baby head is very deep in the pelvis so echographer suggested that could be causing the pain but it seems far more painful than I expect that would feel. Anyone ever had searing pain around pelvis and up into back? Praying it's not my CS scar but I think that would be extremely rare

Karigan195 · 02/08/2019 15:57

Hope everything’s ok challenge!

I’ve just been lugging buckets of water and trying to iodine the back of a horse who doesn’t want to be iodined. Need about 3 pints of water now 😂😂

Is everyone washing baby clothes? I never thought to wash new things.

Yeah to everyone finishing today. It’s nice not having to drag yourself in isn’t it. But like it was said above those still in work will be better off in 12 months. I only get 6 myself but using up annual leave first.

kyles101 · 02/08/2019 16:11

I'll be back on 1st July as it's our year end 30th June so it was best timing really, so my leaving date didn't make too much difference. I'm so glad I've only got another week though, feeling it now.

@Karigan195 I ummed and arghed and although obviously baby would be fine if necessary I have decided to wash as I think some of the finishing chemicals are not so nice. And they're softer after a little wash. And I think it'll give me something o occupy myself with whilst on leave (although my first week is manic!)

Florencenotflo · 02/08/2019 16:16

I finished work on Wednesday. Which was a nice feeling! Although I'll be back at the end of February no doubt. But still, 6 months is better than nothing.

I've got terrible jaw/mouth ache today. Can't pin point it to a specific tooth I think it could be my wisdom teeth 🙄 I bent down to pick something up and the pressure in my gum was awful! Typically I don't have a dentist at the moment either!

I've got everything washed and sorted now, just need to pack the hospital bag! The in laws are taking Dd out for an hour tomorrow so thats my goal for tomorrow!

I feel like I've hit a wall now, I ache so bad, my bump hurts, sleep is crap. And everyone seems to enjoy telling me to take it easy! Not the easiest thing to do with a 3.5 year old who still needs entertaining and a house that gets in a shit state in the blink of an eye!

Karigan195 · 02/08/2019 16:17

Ahhh right thank you.

Just got my group b test result back and it’s positive. Of course it is!

Puglover88 · 02/08/2019 17:13

@Whisky2014 aaand relax!....that’s good that your manager was fine as well. Time to focus on you and baby now!

@boodles101 aw that’s nice of them to get you baby bits - hopefully that’s a few extra things you don’t have to worry about now. My work got me the bjorn baby carrier I’d been saying I was going to get (luckily I hadn’t already got it!) and made me a 3 tiered nappy cake! 😂 so now I have tons of newborn nappies as well! 😄

@challengeyourreality I’ve had a lot of pelvic and back pain and my baby also has her head right down there so maybe that could be it?

kyles101 · 02/08/2019 17:17

@Karigan195 group b strep? Was that a private one or nhs? I've got a private one to do...

Puglover88 · 02/08/2019 17:17

@Florencenotflo you sound far more prepared then me! I really need to get a move on! Sorry to hear you’re feeling the aches and pains as well! My doctor prescribed me a super low dose of cocodamol today which he said is fine for pregnancy in low doses but I’m still hesitant to take it so will just try and tough out the leg pains!

Puglover88 · 02/08/2019 17:18

@Karigan195 I don’t know anything about this group b test - what does a positive result mean?

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/08/2019 17:26

I will possibly look at a return to work mid april on very part time hours, will have to see how things work out money wise. But i would definitely need term time only hours and no more than 25 hours per week or i will be stretched too thinly. Ideally i would do 16 hours, term time only.

challengeyourreality · 02/08/2019 17:27

Back home now and resting. The midwifes and doctor couldn't find any visible reason for the pain but explained that it was probably as the head is so low in the pelvis and the stretching of the ligaments down there - so like what you suggested Puglover.
Hopefully it will ease over the weekend as walking is near impossible and I have no childcare for the summer holidays.

Karigan195 · 02/08/2019 17:36

Private one. Used webmd and they were very efficient. Only sent it off Wednesday.

It’s a bacteria (?) about 30% of the population carries which does adults and those with working immune systems very little harm but can be dangerous for newborns or those with damaged immune systems. Can be passed to baby whilst birthing.

Nhs don’t offer the test but it costs around £40 private

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/08/2019 17:44

karigan what happens now you have had a positive result?

Cramping everytime i sit/lie down. Remember being like this for a week or two before birth of dc2!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 02/08/2019 19:31

Gosh pleased I worked from home today - there was a stampede out of the underground station I use everyday at the time I’d have been there this morning. Apparently there was a fight and the fire alarm went off and people thought someone had a knife or a bomb and were running for the their lives, screaming and tripping over each other to get out. The thought of being caught up in that even when not pregnant send chills down my spine

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/08/2019 19:34

Omg bridget that does sound scary! Good job you were safe at home!

Second load of baby washing on!

challengeyourreality · 02/08/2019 20:14

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri how scary, there was definitely some destiny at play there keeping you away
