happydays yes yes to the razor elbows! DS always manages to elbow Menon the boob. His new phrase when we have morning cuddles is 'mind the elbows!'

IVEgottheDECAF · 07/07/2019 17:34

Argh! The bickering in this house is driving me insaneeeeee

Hsunshine · 07/07/2019 18:15

At the risk of sounding very dumb, what do you need to pack for a water birth? (How does it work)

Karigan195 · 07/07/2019 19:05

I’ve beeb looking into this as it’s my preferred option. Bikini top if you want. Clean soft towels (a couple) and then it depends if you’re going into a unit or at home.

I’m worried as there is only one room in my consultant led unit with a pool :(

Hello Ladies,

i'm a bit behind but for anyone worried about multiple scans I was given a lot of reassurance that they pose no risks to baby. I've had lots of scans as I was under a private consultant prior to falling pregnant and for the first 12 weeks and I was going for regular scans. Since then i've had two additional scans to the NHS ones. Every medical professional i've asked has said it's not harmful in any way.

So tonight I gave in to a major pregnancy craving for pancakes..... in hindsight not so good. Feeling sick sick sick bleughhhhhhhh

Is anyone else struggling with the commute? i'm absolutely dreading it tomorrow. It's very rare that I get a seat (even when wearing my badge) and I feel awkward asking so struggle on through. My bump is also small considering how far along I am and people don't realise that i'm still carrying around an average weight baby it's just more hidden!

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend x

Megan2018 · 07/07/2019 20:46

Braved a big bowl of wholewheat pasta for dinner-with a cream, pea, pancetta and chicken sauce, got a 6.6! Phew. There is only so much salad a person can eat! Very satisfying Grin

IVEgottheDECAF · 07/07/2019 20:59

I am sooooo tired .

Dp is out. Dc are in bed. I havent eaten. My pelvis hurts.

😥

Karigan195 · 07/07/2019 21:07

I luckily put the slow cooker on this morning as was in no mood to cook when I got back. Everybody’s had a lamb, mint and rosemary stew with French baguette here

Not good decaf. Have you got a ball to sit on? That might help?

@PumpkinPatch000 I don't commute but have been going into London quite a lot to see friends. I don't bother with the baby on board badge now that my bump is more obvious, I just make sure I'm wearing clothes that accentuate it and make it a point to stand next to the priority seats whilst looking exhausted. Hasn't failed me yet 😂

We have moved! PGP is freakin killing me but feeling chuffed after a long and productive weekend. Brand new area, brand new (to us) house, most bits unpacked already and baby clothes drying on the line. I'm excited to have a dishwasher because this is who I am now. Next job is decorating the nursery (and making friends ha).

easterbuns1 · 07/07/2019 21:23

Just realised I've not had a 💩 since wednesday despite my usual bran flakes and berries and all that jazz. It's not going to be pleasant. Must be the iron tablets. Maybe should have noticed before today and started taking something to counteract it 🤦‍♀️

IVEgottheDECAF · 07/07/2019 21:47

Oh dear easter! Do you have anything to help? If not water water water until you can get something!

Congrats on moving ronald

I dont have a ball no karigan i managed to heave myself off the sofa and find food anyway

Fortheloveofscience · 07/07/2019 22:17

pumpkin I’m going into London tomorrow for the first time in 2 weeks and dreading it. Generally when people see me I get a seat, but where I get on is very busy so I’ve got to squish, then have to change at the zoo which is Oxford Circus. Got to go in 3 days this week, not going to be fun!

kyles101 · 08/07/2019 04:19

@PumpkinPatch000 I too use @RonaldWeasley 's technique to great success - particularly effective in making young men scatter sharpish!! Could you start earlier or later to avoid the worst of it?

@Megan2018 maybe he cream and pancetta that saved it? I know the feeling about the salads - all y reading apart from one early breakfast (was lazy after and didn't move!) have been well within target so happy at the moment.

God @easterbuns1 get something today to help with that! My one experience left me pretty traumatised!!

Stroan · 08/07/2019 08:54

@megan2018 that sounds amazing, I might have to try that. I don't tolerate pasta too well just now, but could have some rice.

I'm also over salads. It's my only real option for lunch near work so I try not to have it in the evening too. Thankfully, I manage most of the meals that DH and DD have - curries (added coconut milk for me), fajitas (just one wrap and loads of cheese and sour cream!), GD lasagne, chilli and rice, pulled pork etc.

My commute is easy (drive to nursery, drive to work, short walk...) but I'm starting to find it a lot harder. I forget that I can't sprint to the car park and always seem to be late now! But I am grateful that I don't have to manage the tube. Why are people so awful about giving up seats? When I was pregnant with DD, I got the train to work. There was a couple who used to actively block me getting on so that they could sit together. Every single day, the guy would put his arm across me to stop me getting on.

Megan2018 · 08/07/2019 09:46

Growth scan done at 30+4
Head down!
Current weight 3lb 10oz, still bang in the 50th centile.
Baby has very long legs though so that is after her father not me and she has hair!

All measurements good, so hopefully means the GD currently under control. Another scan in 3-4 weeks.

Megan2018 · 08/07/2019 09:48

@Stroan
Its an adaptation of this recipe but I am generous with the bacon/pancetta and cream and used alcohol free wine as had some open. Not very healthy but hit the spot after 2 very healthy weeks!

All this talk of hospital bags is making me realise how woefully unorganised I am. We still have all of DS's old clothes and I really need to get them out of the loft to sort and wash. It feels like such a long time since I've done all this, I feel like a first timer all over again in some ways but WAY more lax than I was last time in terms of being prepared.

DS arrived on his due date weighing 6.12 so I'm bound to go over and have a giant this time round.

29+5 and my body is definitely telling me I need to start slowing down, or that I'm too old for this shit. I'm empathising with everyone on the PGP and resulting lack of sleep.

Karigan195 · 08/07/2019 10:54

I was speaking to someone on Saturday who said that weeks 30 to 33 were the worst as it’s when the tiredness, hugeness etc etc hits you most. Then you get the endorphins rising to get you ready for birth so you start to feel better. I suspect she may be right. Week 29 and 30 was horrid but now at 32 plus 5 and feeling a bit better!

OP posts:
Megan2018 · 08/07/2019 11:02

@Karigan195 that's interesting - I am still feeling really good and not too big as bump is all upfront, I can still pick things up easily and no discomfort yet - I think mine must be brewing for weeks 31-33!
Baby is head down but not low yet though so I suspect that makes a difference - I'm also still getting a decent amount of sleep with just a bit of hip pain from being on my side. I have been pretty lazy though. I suspect not having any other children to run around after helps too!

I do see a chiro regularly though so I wonder how much that helps as she is keeping me straight and balanced? I saw her regularly anyway for migraine and neck issues and in pregnancy she is spending a lot of time on my pelvis alignment and back so perhaps that's why I am not too uncomfortable.

Stroan · 08/07/2019 11:10

@karigan195 that's interesting. I'm 31+5 and everything feels so much worse. Nausea is back with a vengeance and PGP has been awful. Fingers crossed it settles down.

That said, 32-36 is considered to be the hardest period for GD when insulin resistance is at its highest. So I might have that joy to contend with.

Karigan195 · 08/07/2019 11:11

I can still touch my toes 😂. Can’t see them but can touch them. Feeling ok here too really. Tired but still getting decent sleep at night. Still pretty active. Odd niggle in the back and extreme tiredness if I do too much are about all I can complain about.

Mines on the 50th percentile too. Maybe it’s not having huge babies that makes it easier?

OP posts:
DustyDoorframes · 08/07/2019 11:15

I can't touch my toes when I'm not pregnant, let alone now!! If I drop something it can stay on the floor at this point, and I'm 28 weeks today...
Just had a blood pressure scan and she's just over the 80th centile, so I'll blame that, I make big babies!

easterbuns1 · 08/07/2019 11:27

I've a cupboard full of goodies to make you 💩 so I really have no excuse if just crept up on me!

I've got to the point where it feels like my pelvis is cracking and going in two different directions when I turn over in bed. I also seem to have the most active baby ever all day and night so not much happening in the way of sleep in between nocturnal trips to pee. I remember this from last time and bring a lot less knackered once I had a newborn!

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 08/07/2019 11:28

Anyone else suffering with horrible heartburn? I feel like I need to buy shares in Rennies - I'm having to go way over the recommended dose and gaviscon doesn't touch it at all.
