@Puglover88 I did consider it but I figure at this stage he obviously does not have a life threatening condition (as scans all totally normal structurally) and whatever the outcome - we can't change it at this late stage.

I've already spent the best part of £400.00 on a private scan at the Portland, I think if I told DH I wanted the Harmony test too he might be a bit 😬😬 I do, however, really regret not having the Harmony or NIPT at 12 weeks as I was strongly considering it then.

happydays00 · 05/07/2019 17:23

Yes @MrsCatKins me too!! I think I'm 30+6 today too. Is your due date 8 September? I lose track of how many + days I am!

It isn't helping that my DD is running into our bedroom between 5:30 and 6 every morning to announce she needs a wee 😑

RonaldWeasley · 05/07/2019 17:33

Hi @Purplequalitystreet, I'm due on the 25th as well and so are a few other ladies here, hope your pregnancy is going well and yours too @DennisSkinnersMolotov

kyles101 · 05/07/2019 17:52

@Puglover88 definitely me, I've always noticed it. I've had a few quiet days but right now baby is having a rave in my tummy. I look at it like this is a pattern as it's such a recurring theme.

@MrsCatKins not as bad as early on yet for me, but as the week goes on I deffo feel it. 4 days would be really nice from now on!

kyles101 · 05/07/2019 17:55

@IVEgottheDECAF how's the pram?? No buyers remorse?

kyles101 · 05/07/2019 17:59

So, not sure if anyone remembers by boss sagas, I think I may have another one brewing...

I asked aaages a go for my hours to be 8-2 when I came back, said he'd think about it. Told him a couple of weeks ago preferred nursery had advised to book 12 months in advance so need to know, he said yeah not a problem book it, we'll work together to sort it out. Mentioned it today and he said "oh yeah, still have to write back to you about that. Just so you know, I'm going to put no in the letter because I don't know what the business will be doing in a years time" so I said weeeeell what do I do about booking childcare then, and he said to book 8-2 as planned, it's just he didn't want to put it in writing that it was ok. Erm... wtf?

DustyDoorframes · 05/07/2019 18:14

@kyles101 I remember him!!!! Email him now saying what he said to you so you have a record, and print it out, in case you need it when you can't get into your emails. I think there's a really high chance of you needing some good records for a potential tribunal- even just as something you outline as a possibility, for wake-up call purposes. You are clearly a pretty skilled, key person- what would your prospects be as a consultant in your industry???
I've just recruited for an interesting, flexible, but pretty junior part time role. Honestly, dozens of incredibly skilled and experienced women queuing up for a career change having been squeezed out of their career post babies. It made me so depressed!!!!

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 05/07/2019 18:38

Just placemarking the new thread! Can't remember who it was but definitely relate to whoever was talking about complete exhaustion some days. Today is one of those days.

tobeornottobe1 · 05/07/2019 18:41

@Puglover88 I must admit I do have some quieter days it might just be the days I haven't had quite so much caffeine to keep me going tho. But if I was at all worried Ild definitely be going to day unit to be monitored, how is it going? X

MrsCatKins · 05/07/2019 19:38

@happydays00 I am due 7th Sept so a day before you 😌

MrsCatKins · 05/07/2019 19:38

@Littlehouseinthebigcity it was me! I felt horrific but I went for a 40 min brisk walk and it's perked me right up Smile

Stroan · 05/07/2019 19:41

Advice of consistent movements seems a little odd to me - mine is more active when I'm sitting or lying down. Barely moves when I'm on my feet, so his pattern is only as consistent as my routine if that makes sense?

Puglover88 · 05/07/2019 19:44

@happydays00 ah well if you’ve spent that much on a private scan and everything looks fine then I’m sure there’s nothing major to worry about. It’s worrying though isn’t it when things are not the norm in pregnancy - I think we all want to have that boring by-the-book pregnancy but I wonder how many people actually have one that is completely plain sailing!

That’s good to hear that other people have quiet days regarding movements. The midwife really freaked me out when she said that’s not normal but then I saw the doctor and he said it was fine! 🤷‍♀️

Puglover88 · 05/07/2019 19:46

I do have another growth scan on Monday though and they’re going to listen to baby’s heartbeat on a monitor for a while but they weren’t concerned - I think it’s more to reassure me as I’ve become such a familiar face there! 😬

Stroan · 05/07/2019 20:16

@kyles101 your boss sounds awful. I agree.with Dusty to try to get everything you can in writing.and send it to your private email. I was promised flexible working while pregnant and then made redundant when I pushed for it. It's horrendously easy to do and justify, they just have to come up with a valid business reason for refusing and that can be anything.

@dustydoorframes how depressing and familiar. I'm in a job now that is SO junior to what I used to do, and there's no clear path to get back to my previous level if I need flexible working.

Whisky2014 · 05/07/2019 23:42

Wow my baby has been rolling around inside me loads today. And I just laid down and my tummy was at a wonky angle! You could see him sticking up and then moving around...weird!

I've been getting what feel like menstrual cramps for the last 3 evenings. And along with that, last night I had really sore back too. But no lower back pain tonight just the cramp feeling..is that Braxton hicks?

challengeyourreality · 06/07/2019 06:41

Good morning all,
What news to read when I came on to check the other thread this morning. Very sad, my thoughts are with @TwittleBee
Hello to all the new people on the thread. I'm 30 weeks and a few days, due on September 11.
Had my 30 week growth scan yesterday and a talk about my delivery plan with a gynacologist. Was not entirely satisfied. My blood pressure was 95/65 and baby is breech. They said she has 5 weeks to turn or they will plan a cesarian for 39 weeks or so. Got quite annoyed about that but have tried to be calmer and accept that I can't control the delivery and if I say a definite 'no' to particular things I will make more stress for myself if it eventually has to happen.
@tobeornottobe1 I had contractions in my back with DS2, turned out to be his head trying to engage. Worth speaking to your midwife for advice.

Puglover88 · 06/07/2019 07:33

@Whisky2014 I haven’t experienced Braxton Hicks yet but I’ve read that your stomach goes really hard when it happens? I’ve had bouts of mild aching, crampy type pains recently but midwife says it’s nothing to worry about unless it’s severe. Maybe call your MW if you’ve had it for a few days?

Puglover88 · 06/07/2019 07:42

@challengeyourreality 5 weeks still gives your baby some time to turn - I think there are certain positions/exercises you can do to encourage baby to engage.

Also I didn’t realise they’d plan a C-section if baby was still breech at 35 weeks?!!! I thought that some babies didn’t engage until the actual labour? Well done for trying to remain calm though, because you’re right, as much as we want our birth plan to be followed to the letter, we also need to accept that might not happen!

boodles101 · 06/07/2019 07:45

whiskey does kinda sound like BH, that's what happens with me, belly goes all hard and baby sticks right out. I don't get cramps though so maybe keep an eye on that bit.

I think I'm at the point now where things are about to become a struggle. My ribs are so sore and I'm barely sleeping. I can't see how my belly could get any bigger but it definitely will! I get non stop kicking, punching rolling from at least 1 baby, sometimes I wonder if they are kicking each other too.

KnobJockey · 06/07/2019 08:25

@Whisky2014 BH are not painful, if you are getting cramps with them you need to be speaking to your midwife, especially if they are in ant way getting regular.

BH are very uncomfortable, but no actual pain- they might take your breath as they are so unexpected and uncomfortable, but they really don't feel like period pains. You know those days when it feels like the baby has just shot up and your skin hasn't caught up yet? They're a bit like that. Try breathing in as much as you can and feel it tighten up and be tense and imagine that just happening involuntarily.

If you are getting period pains with it, or dull aches or back pain, I would definitely be checking in with your midwife asap, to make sure they aren't contractions.

KnobJockey · 06/07/2019 08:28

Ugh, don't know if I have a baby laid on my bladder or a water infection, but last night I got up about 8 times to see. I honestly had no single period of sleep longer than 90 minutes.

Karigan195 · 06/07/2019 08:29

I was told it’s 36 weeks for the deciding point re breech. My little wriggler was head down but has flipped to breech again. You don’t have to go straight to c section. They can try a uterus manipulation to turn baby which you could insist on trying.

Also help yourself to get him turned by trying all of the following:

Birthing ball. Whenever watching tv do gentle bouncing exercises on it. Puts pelvis in the right position to help turn baby.

Sit wrong way round on a kitchen chair leaning forwards

Have a short walk every day

Spend some time on your hands and knees.

There are others but can’t remember them right now just the ones I’m trying. I’ll look them up. The vbac clinic I went to gave me a guide .

Oh it's so confusing. I don't know if they were Braxton hicks then. I think they weren't if they're not painful. The menstrual type cramps were a bit sore and the lower back pain too but I don't think I got the tightening on my tummy.
I definitely had the baby very high to the top of my tummy, like I could feel his bum or head sticking out.
I'll call midwife just to be sure. It's weird though the cramps are always in the evening and last 15 mins or so.
I have my next mw app on Tues. I'm 32+3
