I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

HELLOOOO!! thought id jump in and say hello. im 6(ish) weeks pregnant, and go my EDD from my dr this morning as...
21st April.
Already have a two and a half yr old son.
Went tp the drs this morning worrying because iv had wierd pains, and (this may sound stupid) i just dont 'feel' pregnant, but im assured all is fine, as the pains are too high up to have anything to do with the baby.

jabberwocky · 01/09/2007 02:30

chipmonkey, just saw your post about no wine for 8 months and wanted to say congratulations! I'll be sending pink girlie thoughts your way

aprilfoolsbaby · 01/09/2007 06:34

I'm so sorry for those women who've had bad news in the last few days. I also can't believe how insensitive some doctors are!
I'm 9+5 and going for a scan on Tuesday. I can't wait though am really nervous. I've had no morning sickness, though I've had really sore breasts for about a month now. It's so bad that water hitting them when I'm in the shower hurts and tiredness and cramps. This is my first so I've no idea what's normal. Is anyone else so tired in the afternoons that they could close their eyes and drift off? Not good when you work full time!

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

littlemissturquoise · 01/09/2007 10:32

Hello again mumzy-I posted on another thread that I am due on April 21st too, like you! It is 2 days before my birthday

Aprilfoolsbaby - my boobs are really sore too. Hugging my dh is sore, trying to get comfy in bed at night is difficult due to sore boobs and I get breast pains a lot through the day. I have gone up a cup size already! However, my friend is 14 weeks and her boobs have not been sore at all, although at this stage she was throwing up 4 or 5 times a day, and I have not been sick once, so I guess everyone is different!

EllieG · 01/09/2007 14:53

Hey all - I am being a COW today to poor DP. Just burst into floods of tears and have NO idea why and everyone in the world is annoying me.....
Is anyone else like this or is it just me? Even DP has his limits and the house has gone a bit quiet.

Kirbo · 01/09/2007 16:07

Ellie G - I've got my mum over at the moment and she is wondering why i'm so snippy at her! I think I've hurt my tounge from biting it so much . I hate being this irritable, i'm hoping that I'll get out of the right side of the bed tomorrow

MrsThreads · 01/09/2007 17:05

Hi all

Hope you are all OK and having a nice weekend with not too much ms or pains.

We are puppysitting this weekend for H's brother. 12 week old Jack Russell called Jambo and he is gorgeous - currently fast asleep between me and H on the sofa.

Dolly - have you got another scan sorted out for a 2nd opinion?

Natx 8+1

lorisparkle · 01/09/2007 18:41

Been a long time since I've posted. So sad to hear people's news.

As for sore boobs, I've been worried as mine look and feel exactly the same as they have done since I cut down bf (saggy!!!) Last pg I had a maternity bra so early as they felt huge and heavy. Well they say every pregnancy is different.

Morning sickness - well mine is more evening sickness. Starts at about 4pm - luckily it is just a horrible sick feeling and only been sick a couple of times but I just struggle to eat anything.

Exhaustion - I've felt exhausted since my DS1 was 4 months and stopped sleeping at night so I actually don't feel any more tired even though lo is sleeping now for about 10 hours at night.

My scan is not until 19th September so I'll just have to keep everything crossed until then.

I know I won't have a termination so I'm not having any additional tests either. I work with children with severe learning difficulties so I would be more prepared than many people (even though I know Peachy that working the children with a disability is not the same as being their parent) My friend had the initial tests then felt really pressurised into have more invasive tests.

Hope everyones pains, sickness, worries, soon disappear (although experience says that it will be a month or so yet!)

modsaluk · 01/09/2007 19:53

Hi all, hope you are having good weekends so far. I am so sorry to hear about peoples bad news, and hope everyone else is going ok.

I am writing today to say i have had a really bad back ache when driving, even short distances my lower back is killing me, someone mentioned i could get a pillow for support for my back, has anyone tried these and do they work ?

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 01/09/2007 20:17

Just checking in to see how Dolly's scan went Thinking of you duck x

studentmum1 · 01/09/2007 21:47

i haven't logged on comp in ages, so sorry to hear the bad news xxx

I've forced myself to get out the house coz it feels like the last couple of weeks i've confined myself to the house, i haven't even been getting out of my PJ's!! now my morning sickness is easing off i've been shopping with dps card!! ... regardless of my mum moaning that the only clothes i should be buying are maternity!! (plus i've been showing off my new bugaboo bee!)

My scan date has come through for September 17th, i'm very nervous coz i've dodged having my bloods done yet and i don't think they'll let me get away with it again... i hate needles, screaming and kicking of legs occur (this is probably me showing my age! big bloomin baby!)

Is anyone else having the worst time EVER with spots? My skin has exploded all over my face with gigantic red spots... i don't think its been this bad since i was 14!! please make me feel better and tell me the rest of you are resembling shrek?

Ok i'm gonna stop rambling!! hope everyone is feeling lovely and pregnant!! xxx

EllieG · 01/09/2007 22:45

Hello all - am (slightly) less grumpy now and very reassured to know it's not just me!

Hope you're enjoying puppysitting MrsT

lorisparkle - respect to you lady for managing PG and LO! You sound like you're doing a fab job

modsaluk - let me know if you find a good cushion as my back is starting to hurt in my work chair - will tell you if I find one.

studentmum1 - I am spotty of face also. Not as bad as last time I was PG though, when my skin was worse than a teenagers, very depressing. It will clear up x Glad you're feeling better though.

daftmoo - my belly is sticking out lots too - can't get into my tight jeans already. Am just telling people am fat at moment, though it is quite demoralizing!

chipmonkey · 01/09/2007 22:49

at pink girly thoughts! I fear it's too late for that now, the flavour's already decided!

chipmonkey · 01/09/2007 22:50

Studentmum, yes spots! My chin looks very adolescent at the moment!

hpsaucey · 02/09/2007 00:12

Hello - just a message or those currently worrying about tests and trying to decide what to do! Hopefully this might put your minds at eas a bit???

I spent 37 out of 40 weeks of my first pregnancy being told that there may well be something very wrong with my baby. Scan after scan told us he was far too small, my hormones were wrong, the placenta wasn't working properly, he could well have Edwards Syndrome (basically babies with this don't survive very long); the list went on ...

I didn't have any invasive tests despite being offered them - obviously the implication being that you could be offered a termination if these results came back with a high risk - whatever that means - of any abnormality - and we decided just to give the baby the chance and we'd face up to whatever happened. That baby is now a perfectly happy and healthy toddler.

Sometimes I think that scans are so detailed these days that consultants can see more than they can explain, and actually a couple of them admitted that this was true. Please think carefully about anything you are told from scans. It is only one persons prognosis.

I know it is a consultants duty to tell you what they see but, speaking to other women, many actually ended up being frightened rather than empowered by what they were told. I know the outcome isn't always so positive, but all of those I've spoken to about this have healthy babies too.

hpsaucey · 02/09/2007 00:15

PS - ELlieG - thnks for your message the other night. Did get to sleep about 3 a.m. Then DS woke at 5:30! Nevermind.

EllieG · 02/09/2007 15:06

hpsaucy - what you say makes a lot of sense. I think there is a danger of being frightened into test you don't really want because the scans and doctors suggest it.
Sorry you got woken so early hon - hope you manage to get some kip later x
Everyone OK today?

MrsThreads · 02/09/2007 15:19

Hi all

Puppy has gone home now and I am totally shattered. H is at work today so I am going to have a nap after I've posted this message.

Re tests to check for problems, we have decided not to. There doesn't appear to be any history in either of our families and I won't be prepared to terminate the pregnancy so we are just going to enjoy the pregnancy and see what happens.

Sorry some of you are suffering with sickness and nausea. Either my nausea has eased off or I have got that used to it, I don't notice it anymore. Just sore boobs. major fatigue, raging appetite and a spotty face.

Dolly - let us know how your scan goes? My fingers are crossed.

xx

jabberwocky · 02/09/2007 15:21

Lol, I guess you're right, chipmonkey. Oh, well, fingers crossed anyway.

Did I ever tell you about my friend Pat(Patrick) who has eight brothers?

PS Congratluations to all the rest of you! I just found out that my niece is due April 15th so I may point her this way.

V1KK1M · 02/09/2007 21:00

Hi all,

Just thought I'd let you all know that I went for my scan today and everything is ok. Apparently I have a bit of a wriggler as 'he(?!?)' wouldn't stop moving on the screen

He measured 26mm CRL and they dated me at 9+2, however, the scan picture said 9+4 which is more in line with my dates so I'm slightly confused but a lot less worried.

Not feeling sicky that much anymore but yesterday I got suck on a train needing a wee and by the time I got off I was doubled over in pain. Also I understand about the spots, I even have one on my neck (yuk)!

I am going to start letting people know now slowly (only close friends) and I am going to buy myself some maternity trousers as they are desperatly needed. The next scan is on 20th Sept (my second wedding anniversary) and then I am going to shout it from the rafters!!!

Hope evryone has had a good weekend

EllieG · 03/09/2007 09:11

Yey for scan V1KK1M! Glad you have a wriggly one.
Was looking ast my belly this morning and is very sticky-outy. My friend who is tiny and wee has nothing! Feel like a whale next to her and I am a week behind as only 7+1. Boo.

On a less-moany note - do we not need to start a new thread very soon? Any ideas for names?

soph28 · 03/09/2007 10:04

hi all, sorry I have not been around for ages- been really busy with my sister coming to stay for another in utero blood transfusion. She is being induced today at 35 weeks so we are all praying that the baby will be perfectly healthy and not too anaemic- and not too tiny either!

I have been feeling completely sick morning till night and at the same time totally starving hungry which is a horrible combination. Had this with ds but don't remember it being so bad. was fine with dd, only craved sponges and strawberries!

Am also absolutely shattered all the time- I mean much more than usual!!

I won't be having any tests done- didn't for the last 2. I wouldn't have an abortion for those reasons. I have also worked with children with a wide range of physical and or mental disabilities, and have worked closely with the whole family so I know a wee bit about what it can be like but every situation is different.

Hpsaucey- I know a family who went through a similar thing to you. They were told at 20wk scan that baby had severe heart problems- possibly Marfin's syndrome (sp?)- and that the baby would probably not survive pregnancy let alone the first year of life and would need extensive surgery. The baby grew much better than expected and ended up being over 9lbs at term. Only needed minor heart surgery (if that's possible) and is now doing really well a few months down the line!

Can someone start a new thread???

loisstella · 03/09/2007 11:55

Dolly - I am so that you're dealing with the insensitive doc at the Birth Company!!!!!!
I hope you nmake it through this okay (I've chnaged my appointment from them to Fetal Med centre - next Monday - due to the bad experience you had).

Today I am feeling sick, not nauseous, proper sick, I swear I have a light fever and I just had some slimey discharge - sorry I know that's too much information but I am a wee bit worried again today...

Peachy · 03/09/2007 12:01

Loris / Soph being someone who works with SN does help- that's why we didnt have trests with ds1 (they wouldn't have shown anything anyhow), as I was nursing then and felt I had an idea. And I did, if not a complete one- at the same time neither did I have that essential bond which makes everything just that bit more do-able anyhow.

Had 2 really good days over the weekend but sick again today . Have announced PG to worls though- needed doing, I think. Sister is pg and is chuffed she's nto alone (although due November).

loisstella · 03/09/2007 13:02

I am a woman possesed... just did another pregnancy test... just to be absolutely sure.
Yup - still happening!
