Dec19baby that's good you didn't need to wait long for physio. I'm on a waiting list for 2 hospitals. I have the osteopath this week so really hoping that makes a difference!

December2019 · 24/09/2019 17:18

@Everafter1 that sounds a bit like brackston hicks? Like practice contractions I had them a lot nearer 30 weeks in my last pregnancy

Everafter1 · 24/09/2019 17:30

December2019

That had crossed my mind. I've not felt it today but last night was so uncomfortable. Did you have them every day?

bobble53 · 24/09/2019 19:34

I had them last week when I had a bug and was very dehydrated. Apparently dehydration can bring them on. It’s like baby is curling up into a really tight ball and then releasing.

December2019 · 24/09/2019 19:50

@Everafter1 yeah I remember having them most days... felt really tight around the top of my bump

Everafter1 · 24/09/2019 22:29

Bugs are awful when pregnant! Must've been horrible dealing with the tightening and sickness.
I'm definitely not dehydrated. Have had it again this evening but not as severe. I'll mention it to the mw at my next app if it continues.
Just makes resting & sleeping a bit more tricky.

forevercurious · 26/09/2019 07:24

Had my anti d injection last week and the blood tests results show I’m lacking iron and need to take iron tablets. I’ve been googling and people seem to say the side effects are not good. Does anyone have any personal experience of taking them during pregnancy?

December2019 · 26/09/2019 08:09

@forevercurious well I've started eating wet flannels out of the bath, like sucking the water out and that's a sign my iron is low so I'll be taking mine again too lol
They can make you a bit constipated and they make your poo black 😩

forevercurious · 26/09/2019 08:31

@December2019 I had no idea that was a sign of low iron! It does sound a little strange lol. Ah I’m already on lactulose for constipation, taking a really small dose each day but it’s working & I’m worried the iron tablets will make it so much worse!

December2019 · 26/09/2019 08:45

@forevercurious it's very strange! I started doing it in my last pregnancy too 😂
And getting the urge to suck the water out of washing out of the washing machine! 😂 it's a form of pica apparently
Beetroot is high in iron if you like that?

bobble53 · 26/10/2019 12:28

34+3 and started to lose bits from my plug. Rang the midwife and she said it’s totally fine and he won’t arrive next week or anything. Anyone else the same?!

BabyCountDown · 28/10/2019 08:48

How are we all? I'm 33.5 weeks and miserable. Really severe SPD so have been off work since 28 weeks, it's so frustrating! Signed off for rest of pregnancy and booked in for planned sections at 39 weeks.

DS is 3 and I feel so guilty not being mobile and active with him.

DH keeps reminding me it's not long to go, but the pain is getting worse as baby grows so still feels like a long time to go

forevercurious · 02/11/2019 17:44

@BabyCountDown sorry to hear you’re feeling so rough Flowers.

On a positive note we can now say our babies are due next month!

lovebeingmum9 · 02/11/2019 22:26

Hi all im joining late as been posting on other due in december thread but only just stumbled upon this one!
I'm 35wk +4 days pregnant with #4 and due on 3rd of December.....can't believe it's only a month away now and feeling excited! hope your all doing well and im looking forward to sharing and hearing everyone's good news and birth stories!

BabyCountDown · 05/11/2019 13:06

Yes the countdown is getting smaller! I have started a list to pack my hospital bag as that's all I still need to do. I keep thinking I should do it in case of an early arrival!

Is everyone else organised?

bobble53 · 05/11/2019 13:45

I’ve packed the babies hospital bag and going to start mine this week. Was hoping to work until 39 weeks but I’m absolutely shattered now at 36 so might bring my leave forward to 38.

Had the health visitor come to our house yesterday and hated it! Felt so patronised. My midwife is lovely but just didn’t like the HV vibe - might request to change. Is this possible?! She absolutely rammed breast feeding down our throat and said how bottle feeding was terrible etc etc. I am planning on breast feeding but think it was awful how she went about it.

forevercurious · 05/11/2019 15:17

I’m almost 35 weeks and have packed mine and the babies hospital bags - I wasn’t going to do it yet but my midwife said I needed to get on with it.

Had my pram delivered, it’s all coming together now Grin

forevercurious · 05/11/2019 15:21

@bobble53 I’m sure you can request to change health visitors, what is the purpose of their visit as this is something I’ve thought about or discussed with my midwife.

I’m also working until 38 weeks if I can. I currently dream of a desk job where I could sit down all day and take it a little easier!

Hugsandpastries · 05/11/2019 18:10

What are you putting in your hospital bags? I remember last time round wishing I had more big pants and painkillers.

bobble53 · 05/11/2019 18:44

@forevercurious she showed us videos of breast feeding and spent a lot of time talking about that. She asked me and my partner how much we drank and checked our house for smoke alarms. Also asked how OH felt about me breastfeeding and if he was supportive. I really didn’t like the visit.

BabyCountDown · 06/11/2019 20:14

HVs can be hit or miss. in my area they were short-staffed last time so that may be why they didn't visit pre-birth. I've not been contacted for someone to come out this time in advance but if they ask I'll allow it. I found my HV really useful in that she organised prescriptions for me and DS (he kept getting eye infections during the first few weeks) and did all the visits at my house which was perfect as I'd had an EMCS so couldn't drive. But I've heard in other areas that apart from the first visit that they often expect you to go to their surgery. Mh HV last time had a nice manner and seemed knowledgeable. However I met a different person around the weaning time and really didn't like her manner, she also didn't seem to know how to speak to DS which was weird!

badfurday · 09/11/2019 10:35

How are we all getting on?
I had a letter from the HV team yesterday to say they couldn't get here before the birth due to staff shortages, don't remember them coming out last time either to be honest!
I'm 37 weeks tomorrow, 1 more week of work! I am so done with being pregnant now! Looking forward to a bit of down time before she arrives, but hard with a 5 year old heading up to Christmas!
Hope everyone is staying well 🙂

Happy 1st of December everyone 🎅! We can officially say our babies are due this month.

How’s everyone getting on? I finished work on Friday and the Christmas tree will be up by the end of the day and then I’m on the daily countdown for my due date! so excited.

Hugsandpastries · 01/12/2019 13:31

Well done for getting your tree up! Glad I’m (hopefully!) in the final month. A couple more weeks to go at work. Trying to get all my Christmas presents organised now in case baby comes early...

Dec19baby · 01/12/2019 14:07

Getting Christmas decorations up as we speak, but I'm exhausted and can barely do anything, due in 3 weeks today! I'm so excited. Finally looking forward to it. Been attending birth classes and started hypnobirthing with my partner so that's definitely helped with my fear and anxiety. As someone said, we're finally due this month!!
