@DaisyMay25 I didn’t use reusables with my DS but I’m thinking about giving it a try this time round. Maybe keeping disposables for night time at least in the early days.

SleepingStandingUp · 01/06/2019 14:21

I brought reusbales with DS and used them a little but he was in hospital so much for the first 18 months it just wasn't doable.
Want to try again with this one as I kept it all

Ann334 · 01/06/2019 14:25

Hi everyone

EDD 28th Jan so I think I’m 5+4 with 1st baby.
Looking forward to sharing stories!
I’m quite anxious as had MC at 5+6 last year, but already Symptoms are totally different this time.
Positive thoughts to all x

McHelenz · 01/06/2019 15:09

I've been a bit of an idiot I think. Im off work today so decided not to take my cyclizine (I'm quite anxious about taking it ). I've done nothing but vomit all day, I think I'm bringing liquids back up now 😔. I went to peg out some washing and it was too much, resulting in me hugging the toilet.

Me and my poorly cat have retired to the spare room for a nap.

Im so grateful to be pregnant, but this is really hard.

Bentley111 · 01/06/2019 15:16

@McHelenz sending lots of hugs. Feel exactly the same - so very grateful, especially after losses, but I am really struggling, this is really tough. I've had my tabs upped - would it be worth going to the gp and doing the same? I'm now on prochlorperazine and today is the first day I've been up and about, albeit slowly and tentatively.

Bentley111 · 01/06/2019 15:23

Also, if anyone is interested, new look have got quite a good sale on. I bought a little denim dungaree maternity dress for £11 😬 feels very early but I'm so bloated and nothing fits me right now!

AstroKate · 01/06/2019 15:30

Just been for my first ever booking in appointment. Slightly high BMI and combined with age means test for gestational diabetes. But not so high I have to do blood thinners (which I was expecting tbh!)

Come home with a load of stuff from Bounty and Sudacream which I thought was a bit weird-is that usual?

And thanks for the New Look heads up! I can't get into my work jeans anymore so defo need to invest!

McHelenz · 01/06/2019 15:33

@bentley111 I've only been taking 1 a day for a week (had one day where I took 2). I just thought it would be good to not take tablets everyday, how wrong was I...

It's my booking in appointment a week on Tuesday, I think I'm going to give it a bit longer then the midwife can decide what I need to do

McHelenz · 01/06/2019 15:37

Also I'm really craving Mexican food but I know my stomach won't handle it 😔😔

SleepingStandingUp · 01/06/2019 18:44

@AstroKate I think some areas do give out lots of random stuff. Mainly leaflets here lol but I do remember ending up with a ton of mini bum creams etc

anitagreen · 01/06/2019 18:47

Really finding the last few days hard I'm so anxious and worrying over stuff I don't need to worry about I can't seem to relax or catch a break at all I just feel like crying in a heap or running away please someone tell me it's just my hormones and it'll pass soon I'm only 8+3 now Sad been fine for ages and happy but this past week has been shit

Anon120 · 01/06/2019 19:03

@anitagreen bless you, I think it's perfectly normal to go through ups and downs with how on you're feeling. I've had many anxious/ down times trust me!! And I'm sure a lot of the other ladies on this thread would say the same. I guess some would be hormones, for me it's because it's my first baby and I feel so in the dark. Have you had your booking appt yet? I had mine today and it was just much more reassuring to be able to get some advice/ talk to a midwjfe x

anitagreen · 01/06/2019 19:12

@Anon120 I haven't I'm at the doctors Monday to be referred on to the midwives again as my referral wasn't made it's all confusing this time round as was told it's self referral to midwives but that hasn't happened when I called. Just feel really down and sad I don't want to die or nothing that extreme but I am finding this week so hard I miss feeling happy and everything sorry for this whiny post feel so miserable x

Sunshine3105 · 01/06/2019 19:48

So glad not much symptoms yet.5w +6...Hubby took me for surprise birthday trip to Lisbon..... and just waiting for Ed Sheeran to perform live.....Cant wish for better care.....really dont feel like pregnant today.....except I cant drink Confused

JTpreg · 01/06/2019 19:54

Evening all! I’m 5+5 and cannot believe how crap I feel already. Overwhelming exhaustion in waves, occasional dizziness, crying and being irrational for no reason and some seriously weird dreams/nightmares. Have also had a raging urine infection since Wednesday - peeing all the time and tummy and back pain so feeling pretty sorry for myself which is pathetic really (according to my mother I need to man up). I’m dreading the next six weeks 😩

Cannyhandleit · 01/06/2019 21:05

Has anyone got unbearable thirst?? For the last 3 weeks I have felt like I've got a hangover, constant nausea and unquenchable thirst! Nothing I drink helps, I have been drinking a shitload of water with lemon as I've gone right off anything else! I actually feel a bit emotional about it tonight as I just can't get relief from it!

splishandsplash · 01/06/2019 21:39

@Cannyhandleit have you tried sparkling water? I've found it's quenched my first and settled my sickness? Or a glass of cold milk? I had two glasses earlier today and it never tasted so good 😂
But yes it's horrible feeling! Hope you feel better soon xx

Teaonthebedsheets · 01/06/2019 21:44

I second cold milk for the thirst. 7 plus 1 and still no morning sickness. Really hoping I don't get it this time. I can't remember when it kicked in last time but I can see I ordered sick bags on Amazon at 7 weeks 3 days!

Teaonthebedsheets · 01/06/2019 21:47

DaisyMay25, we've used reusable for our first child who is now almost 2. They've been great, especially reusable wipes. I will definitely use them again next time. I recommend Little Lamb pocket nappies with hemp inserts (we use little weeds) for daytime and totsbots bamboozles with a motherease airflow wrap for night time. Cheeky wipes for wipes.

MoominMantra · 01/06/2019 21:49

@Cannyhandleit I am exactly the same! I was going to post about this too. I feel like I really want to drink litres of something but I'm not sure what will help. I do agree that milk seems to hit the spot more than other things. And I'm ordinarily a prolific water drinker. It's such a weird sensation.

Cannyhandleit · 01/06/2019 21:52

Thanks guys milk has helped a bit. I swear I never felt this bad with my other 2!

mynameisMrG · 01/06/2019 22:01

I’m with you on the thirst. Ice cold water or fresh orange is the only thing that helps me. I’m usually a big coffee and coke drinker but the thought makes my stomach turn.

JTpreg · 01/06/2019 22:09

Orange juice, sparkling water with a splash of lime cordial works for me!

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 01/06/2019 22:35

I’m quite interested in using reusables this time round but not sure how I’d manage with all the washing. With a messy toddler + newborn I expect it seems never-ending! Definitely going to get some reusable wipes though and go from there.

Is anyone else struggling with the not being able to drink and having to lie to people? I’m only 7+1 and have so many social gatherings in June that I’ll be expected to have a drink at, I don’t know how I’m going to get away with it. I’m definitely not ready to tell anyone yet, I have various groups of school/work/‘mum’ friends so just too many people I wouldn’t know where to start!

Teaonthebedsheets · 01/06/2019 22:53

One thing to bear in mind is that if you tumble dry it can actually be less environmentally friendly, so if you do it it's a lot of hanging out! We do 2 washes a week now but in the newborn days it was one every other day. We've not found that too bad but my husband does a very large share of housework, which makes it manageable between 2.
