Has anyone had really bad back pain at the side of your right side I've had a bit of spotting and this is excruciating honestly feels like dull labour aches which is ridiculous at 8 weeks I'm worried this is it my cervix is so low also

CatRash · 02/06/2019 06:09

@anitagreen I've had bouts of quite intense back ache here and there. Especially bad at nights and I've struggled to sleep sometimes because of it. One of the reasons I booked an early scan was because the back ache.

Could you speak to your midwife for reassurance?

CatRash · 02/06/2019 06:14

Sorry just read you've got spotting too. Perhaps call your EPU to see if they can see you?

mrscatmad31 · 02/06/2019 06:40

Also struggling with social occasions, I am supposed to be meeting friends next week to celebrate something, it's unheard of for me not to drink but I don't want to tell anyone yet, a lot of my family don't know yet. Might be ill at the last minute

JTpreg · 02/06/2019 06:41

My excuses list so far:

  1. I am on antibiotics and they won’t work as well if I have a drink (actually true- plus I’m on them for a urine infection and doesn’t make sense to drink when you are blatantly weeing all the time)
  2. Well after my course of antibiotics I felt so great I’ve decided to have a bit of a break from alcohol. (People know that I’m trying so I just tell them I want to be in the best shape to “house a baby”)
  3. My husband and I have a bet that I can’t not drink for the whole of June - after all “Dry January didn’t go terribly well haha. He’s so mean hahaha. But I can’t let him win”
  4. Depending on where you are eg at a pub order one of those gloriously expensive organic mixers and pretend that they are just so refreshing in the summer mixed with vodka (clearly there is no vodka)
  5. Pretend to be sipping and then slyly either pour bits away or get your partner/friend to slyly drink it for you. I said this to my husband last night followed by “you’re welcome”
DinoGreen · 02/06/2019 06:42

TMI but has anyone else completely gone off sex? DH has tried to get me in the mood twice in the last week and it’s like I just can’t bear to be touched!

@MonicaGellerHyphenBing yes same! I had a thing with friends yesterday and pretended to be hungover from the night before. Got a work event coming up on Wednesday which I’ll have to be “driving” for, and a wedding in a few weeks which I haven’t yet worked out a convincing excuse for!

Cannyhandleit · 02/06/2019 08:30

@DinoGreen I have zero sex drive! When I was pregnant with my first one of DP's colleagues who's wife was also pregnant told him she had a ridiculously high sex drive and wanted sex all the time while pregnant!! Poor DP waited patiently but it never came! I feel so shit 90% of the time sex is the last thing in my mind!

mrscatmad31 · 02/06/2019 08:54

Annoyingly I don't drive so can't use that but might have to say I'm on antibiotics
One of the friends that is going has sadly lost a baby recently so really don't want her to realise I'm pregnant

Gillster · 02/06/2019 10:09

Does anyone here wear a Fitbit? Just curious to know the changes in resting heart rate since becoming pregnant.

McHelenz · 02/06/2019 10:14

I'm too sick to even think about sex 🙈.

anitagreen · 02/06/2019 10:14

@CatRash I can call up Monday I think I've booked doctors for tomorrow anyway so hopefully they might pass me through to epu for a scan and just check all is ok x

JTpreg · 02/06/2019 10:23

I’m sure the GP will refer you to EPAU if you had spotting and are 8 weeks. You may not get a scan tomorrow as Mondays always busy but 🤞🏻 they can fit you in this week. Hope everything is ok x

DaisyMay25 · 02/06/2019 10:33

@Gillster I have an Apple Watch and my heart rate is definitely higher!

MummyBearBoo · 02/06/2019 11:05

My sickness seems to be getting a bit better I now only feel a bit sick after I eat in the evening not in the morning as well! I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and I'm starting to go off milk in tea which happened the last 2 times too later in the first trimester lasting into the second! Xx

AstroKate · 02/06/2019 11:18

A lot of people have mentioned sickness (which sucks and I have total sympathy for!) but I've had no sickness-and terrible skin!

The midwife I saw yesterday said this is really common and a lot of women either get really oily or really dry skin. Mine has turned so dry that no matter how much moisturiser I lather on, my make up looks scaley by the end of the day and is peeling off

Does anyone else have bad skin since pregnancy?

plipliop · 02/06/2019 11:18

I don't really feel sick anymore at all.
I wish I could enjoy it!

Fivebyfive2 · 02/06/2019 11:20

Hi ladies, would it be OK if I join in? I've just hit the 8 weeks mark this weekend, my ap says due date is around 11th Jan! This will be our first child, but is our second pregnancy, as I unfortunately had a miscarriage earlier this year. We're letting ourselves get a bit excited though, because why not?! Booking in apt tomorrow.

@DinoGreen, omg same!! We've had sex a handful of times since my bfp but recently my body is like 'nah bro, not happening'! Dh is being really good, but when I told him some couples have no sex allllll the way through, he looked a tad horrified!! 😂

Teaonthebedsheets · 02/06/2019 12:31

New symptom here: ulcers all over my tongue Hmm

mynameisMrG · 02/06/2019 12:36

I’ve completely lost all symptoms now. I should enjoy the fact I feel good but of course my mind goes straight to the worse. Scan on Wednesday cant come quick enough now

mrscatmad31 · 02/06/2019 12:41

@Astrokate my skin is bad at the moment, I wondered if it was pregnancy related

Mumof4andahalf · 02/06/2019 12:50

I'm seriously suffering from hay fever I think, I'm so congested, can't breathe, sneezing, feels like sinus pressure, I take antihistamines anyway for allergies but is there anything else I can try? I feel so ill and I'm back to work tomorrow

Beck2277 · 02/06/2019 13:27

Hi ladies just jumping on :) 6+3 today going by last period on the 19th April. Only a few symptoms, boobs have the odd twinge but nothing major, bit of nausea every now and then, very tired and period like cramps on and off (possibly linked to the ridiculous constipation/gassiness that noone tells you about!) but feeling ok :) first baby so no idea what to expect and paranoid constantly but no blood or pain so guessing all is ok! Due around the 24th Jan :)

Mirana · 02/06/2019 14:08

@AstroKate I get hormonal acne every month around my period, and mine just hasn't cleared up and my cheeks are so red :( this is NOT the pregnancy glow I signed up for!!!

Woke up this morning with way less symptoms (6 weeks today!) and panicked. Was at a vicarage garden party after church (my mum's a vicar and was leaving for a new church today!) and was distracted and panicky the whole time, although later had some nausea and my boobs went back to their usual soreness lol. Did have some cramping today but I was wearing jeans for the first time in 2 weeks, I've taken them off and it stopped - has anyone else found tight clothes make you cramp? I'm really bloated so they are v v tight!

Also been worrying that my anti-biotics are the source of my sickness and not the pregnancy, but it's not listed as a side effect. Head is just a mess, I am overwhelmingly anxious about my scan on Friday. Praying it goes well but I am terrified.

Mirana · 02/06/2019 14:09

Sorry to vent, I'm almost bloody 30 and I'm a nervous wreck! I've had 3 previous losses though which I think always stays with you. Nice to be able to tell people who get it.

plipliop · 02/06/2019 14:18

@Mirana this is the place to vent!
