Thought we had better start a new thread - wonder if we'll see some (more) babies arriving on this thread...

I think she will continue to be quite involved tbh - babies change every day! And then they can play together and leave you alone 😂 I'm quite strict with routines, they have to help around the house quite a bit, they share TV time, they're all quite independent... I'm more scared of having a newborn than five children actually!! Not that this baby is ever going to be born. I did ask my midwife but she said she'd never heard of someone being pregnant forever...

Kentishgal · 02/07/2019 11:35

Birthdaykake thanks for the tips - I'm still impressed. What ages are yours? I'm no medical expert but I'm pretty sure your midwife is right on that point - and it will be a July baby! I've got this horrible feeling mine might be earlier than planned - I really thought I was getting contractions last night but nothing happened - although that seems unlikely given that my daughter was 2 wks late... I'm just hoping she stays put for now!

Just had my 36wk midwife home visit. It took her ages to find his heartbeat, turns out it’s because he’s breech. She said he’s probably put himself in that position because of my low lying placenta so it’s more comfortable for him. Not like it matters as I’ve got to have c sec anyway. She was surprised I’ve not finished work yet, only a week to go though.

Just ironed loads more clothes and I’ve an afternoon of NVQ work ahead of me (with tennis on in the background!)

Welcome to the newbies. Hope everyone is doing well.

Can’t believe after being on this group together for 9 months we’ll all have babies in a matter of weeks x

BirthdayKake · 02/07/2019 12:13

@Kentishgal I go through phases too of thinking she'll be early. Only because my previous four have got slightly earlier each time, with the last one being born at 39+2. I have parents evening on that day though so maybe not! The others are 10, 8, 6 and 3 and I turned 30 on Friday!! Just glad she wasn't born then...

thelonearranger · 02/07/2019 12:50

Thank you Yukka I was quite early and I have a feeling this little one will be. I’m hoping that they stay put until 37 weeks though

TwinkleDay · 02/07/2019 19:28

Genuinely think it's taking longer to coax this baby out than TTC!! Just had a hot Madras curry which was not nice... Now waiting for the after effects.... And walked 2.5 miles earlier .

GiGi18 · 02/07/2019 20:15

Hopefully that does the trick @TwinkleDay how many weeks are you now? Well done for still managing to walk that far!

thedust · 02/07/2019 21:05

Got my syringes today to start collecting colostrum - got 1ml in my first go! 38+2 today, got 25 syringes so will see how many I manage to fill up.

Kentishgal · 03/07/2019 06:50

I'm very impressed at all this colostrum collecting! I got nothing last time, even after birth, and this time I'm too scared in case it brings on labour! twinkleday - 2.5 miles is an achievement - I hope it's done the trick!!

TwinkleDay · 03/07/2019 07:41

@gigi18 40+6 now the curry has done nothing different..

@thedust hey that is really good on the colostrum !! Well done ... Trust me I have been doing it for 3 weeks I does f all to bring on labour... Looks like I will be having this sweep tommorow 😥

Kentishgal · 03/07/2019 08:16

Ha ha twinkleday that's true - but it'd be typical for it to bring on labour for me when I don't want it to!

TwinkleDay · 03/07/2019 08:19

@kentishgal well if you don't want it too then don't have it surely 😉

Jxtina86 · 03/07/2019 11:27

I swear if I get to my 40 week appt and this baby is still not engaged I will cry! My crotch is on bloody fire and all the movement this morning is so low down. Never thought I'd say this, but bring on the sweep! I'm done now!

BirthdayKake · 03/07/2019 11:37

@Jxtina86 is this your first? Mine felt really low down last night but she does like to pop in and out of my pelvis 🙄

thelonearranger · 03/07/2019 11:41

Morning all, I can’t take this heat anymore. I’m getting a paddling pool after work and then I’m sitting on my balcony in it all night.

cravingmilkshake · 03/07/2019 11:44

My baby was very active last night and had moved- I believe are bum is poking out near my belly button! So uncomfortable. I have the midwife today.

On the plus side, I have nearly finished my last assignment for my undergrad degree- 600 words to go- will finish it this afternoon then I can finally enjoy Mat leave!

I hope you are all ok and getting ready for the best day of our lives?

Kentishgal · 03/07/2019 11:46

twinkleday I just had my last midwife appointment and she said I'll just tell you to do the oppostite of what I usually tell women at this stage i.e. stay really stressed to avoid going into labour! Measuring three weeks ahead still but she reckons this baby will weigh less than my daughter (8lb 7oz). The thing is the baby is entirely on my left hand side - everyone keeps commenting - but it was the sane last time...maybe I have a funny shaped body and they don't like my right hand side?! My daughter was born with positional talipes from where she was so cramped...why don't they just utilise the space on the right?! jxtina86 when is your 40wk appointment?

OP posts:
Jxtina86 · 03/07/2019 11:49

@BirthdayKake yes it's my first. Last week baby was head down but midwife said she could still move the head around so it wasn't engaged. Just feel so uncomfortable. I'm literally dreaming of the day I can sleep on my front or back rather than my side! Oh and to see my bikini line without the aid of a mirror... to be able to bend down without a bump in the way...! Sorry, in a proper grump today! Doesn't help that I've had an allergic reaction to something so my poor acne face is now suffering even more from redness and tightness. I look like a sodding tomato!

Jxtina86 · 03/07/2019 11:52

@Kentishgal 40 week appt is next Tuesday, bang on my EDD. I'm counting down the days!

TwinkleDay · 03/07/2019 12:30

Do the opposite to keep labour at bay.. wow well I suggest ring up energy providers, maybe look into remortgage and speak to every plucker about if there is any baby yet... And have the same conversation over and over again ... I will be baking later on this afternoon and just had a bath.. chill

Kentishgal · 03/07/2019 12:33

twinkleday ha ha I take it you've got the "any signs of baby yet?" brigade on your case then?!

OP posts:
BirthdayKake · 03/07/2019 12:37

@Jxtina86 sorry to hear that. If it's any consolation my skin is horrible too and I now have a lovely scar on my nose! I'm so self conscious :( anyway...

Just had what I'm hoping was my last growth scan. We looked at the measurements the guy was making and they were pretty much around 34-35 weeks. I'm 38+2!

Just waiting to see the consultant who I can't imagine is going to support my home birth now...

Yukka · 03/07/2019 12:40

Hi ladies had my last consultant check this morning at 36.3, baby is 2/5th engaged growth and blood flow all good, so induction booked for 24th July if nothing happens before. Currently weighing approx 6lb 9oz so prob puts me at 7lb ish for birth.

Shizer! It's weird having a date. I asked about the gel induction they say most women respond well with one or two goes 6 hours apart so not as bad as old pessary.

Time to maximise the chill out time!! X

TwinkleDay · 03/07/2019 13:11

@kentishgal... I ignored them all for 4 days last week and then just sent out a blanket text saying I have a new phone and we are fine please kindly piss off and I will tell you when my vagina has produced.... Well along those lines...

It's the inlaws that are the worse booking a 3 night break ' around the area's hovering round when they live 2.5 hours away.. we did ask them if they want to go out for tea via text tonight so they rang up and said ... Any sign of baby yet... Oh yes you plonkers I just thought the Greek restaurant will be great to give birth in !!!!!

Kentishgal · 03/07/2019 13:22

twinkleday 😂 yes that'll go down a treat between the Greek salad and moussaka. We really don't get on with my husband's sister for numerous reasons so there's very little contact - she lives a good 6-7 hr drive away so not usually an issue - except she found out when baby was due and has booked a holiday 20 mins up the road for that week - I expect the enquiring texts will start soon. We're ignoring all contact - that's all we need!!
