Thought we had better start a new thread - wonder if we'll see some (more) babies arriving on this thread...

I managed to pour duck fat from the oven all over my thigh - it was so painful - it's taken the skin off a patch about 2 and a half inches in diameter - the nurse has dressed it and I've got to go back and get it changed on Thursday. I blame my pregnancy balance issues as I bent down to take the dish out of the oven. The amount of illness and injury would be comical if it wasn't so painful!

Omg poor you @Kentishgal! That sounds awful :(

Jxtina86 · 25/06/2019 18:57

Oh @KentishGal! You poor thing. Hope it heals quickly.

TwinkleDay · 25/06/2019 19:56

@Kentishgal that sounds awful !! You poor thing, what were you making ?

Roast duck or potatoes in june ?

Managed to see toy story 4 today, emotional wreck right from the start! Then I though my waters had broke as I have had a trickle but I think I was laughing too hard 😩 after 3 knicker checks

Giraffe888 · 25/06/2019 20:23

Hope you’re ok @Kentishgal and not in too much pain x

Giraffe888 · 25/06/2019 20:23

We saw it on Sunday @TwinkleDay, good film wasn’t it? X

Kentishgal · 25/06/2019 20:29

twinkleday roast duck legs...don't worry I wasn't prepping the Christmas dinner early! It's been sooo hot today - how's everyone coping?

OP posts:
BeckyButterfly · 25/06/2019 21:14

@Kentishgal it has rained and been foggy all day today where I am 😂

Kentishgal · 25/06/2019 21:22

beckybutterfly ordinarily I would say "oh no" but honestly it's better not being in the heat right now! My daughter's bedroom is still 27°.

BeckyButterfly · 25/06/2019 21:34

@Kentishgal there's nothing worse than it being too hot in this country as well because our houses are built to retain heat so it's bloody boiling everywhere you go. At least when you're abroad there's air con everywhere and swimming pools! (And it's acceptable to walk around in a bikini 😂)

Kentishgal · 25/06/2019 21:38

I know - our house is old so it's cold in the winter and hot in the summer! On Saturday I put my bikini on and sat in my daughter's paddling pool with her - she looked a little confused!

OP posts:
BeckyButterfly · 25/06/2019 21:59

@Kentishgal my house is the same. No temperature control at all!
Haha, that would've looked funny 🙂 I'd be doing the same thing though!

Capybaras · 25/06/2019 22:22

Oh no @Kentishgal that doesn't sound great at all - and especially as it's so hot! No one wants extra heat radiating from them in this.
It's been overcast here today but so muggy! Went for a long walk this eve with DH - lots of braxton hicks but no signs of anything else happening yet. Still 2 weeks until my due date though so potentially a long time to wait!

StargazyDrifter · 25/06/2019 22:52

Kentishgal nooooo! 😭😭😭 Love the paddling pool image though.

I had a tumble yesterday out of the blue, a friend popped round to help put together a rocking chair, I took a step back from where he was working and just wiped out. He looked horrified but I was fine. Not even sure what happened!

Been very muggy here too, it's making me grumpier and it's harder to sleep. I keep thinking that our local hospital's wards are very hot and that must be hellish in 29-30C.

Giraffe888 · 26/06/2019 08:43

It’s been cool and wet where I am the last few days too. I was freezing yesterday! It’s supposed to heat up from tomorrow though. It’s my baby shower on Sunday so it would be good if it’s nice for that!

@StargazyDrifter oh no. Are you ok? Did you hurt yourself? X

Kentishgal · 26/06/2019 09:19

Oh goodness stargazydrifter are you ok? Did you fall backwards?

Well ladies my waters broke at 5am, still no contractions. I've been bouncing on my ball and dancing around the house trying to get things going. Any tips?

TwinkleDay · 26/06/2019 10:06

@TheScaredyKat wow! Any tips for getting them to break? Were you in bed, I have been on my ball all morning still waiting for any sort of sign!

Kentishgal · 26/06/2019 10:07

theskaredycat how exciting - won't be long now then! No tips but hope everything goes well and looking forward to the baby update!!

OP posts:
TwinkleDay · 26/06/2019 10:26

@TheScaredyKat have you got any clary sage oil that's might help trigger contractions

Capybaras · 26/06/2019 10:27

Good luck @TheScaredyKat I have no tips but hope things progress nicely for you!

TheScaredyKat · 26/06/2019 10:49

Thanks ladies, not sure on the clary sage I'll check my oils stash. Thanks for the tip.
Basically I just rolled over in bed and splosh there it went @TwinkleDay

TwinkleDay · 26/06/2019 10:57

Splosh 😂 is your mattress ok? I have 2 king size protectors and 2 waterproof pads on mine

TheScaredyKat · 26/06/2019 11:04

I had a towel down under the sheet and I'm pretty sure I'd leapt up before any reached the bed really. It was just on me and the main part of the splosh came once I stood up anyway, at that point I was in motion to the bathroom so there's probably a trail on the carpet!

Jxtina86 · 26/06/2019 11:09

@TheScaredyKat how exciting! No tips on starting contractions but hope they start soon for you!
