Thought we had better start a new thread - wonder if we'll see some (more) babies arriving on this thread...

@Capybaras I’ve got 2wks to go yet until mat leave. Then I’ve got 9 days of mat leave until c sec. My only plan for it is batch cooking though!

How far are you now? X

Capybaras · 24/06/2019 08:09

Oh how are you finding work? When are you due? I'm 37+6
Done some batch cooking (more to go) and we need to start putting together the pram, fit the car seat, sort out cot etc

My body's definitely become more tired since finishing work!

blueeyedviking · 24/06/2019 08:17

Morning all
Hope you had nice weekends. I had my first day of pains yesterday; tightnings in lower stomach and back pain. That combined with loads of BHs made for a quite a few hours on the sofa!

Sorted out our snuzpod yesterday and cleaned the main rooms. Still need to buy a few bits and finish my hypnotherapy course...

@TwinkleDay Good luck today. Hope you get it sorted, must be stressful. So unnecessary of them 🙄

TwinkleDay · 24/06/2019 08:29

@TheScaredyKat yeah it would be nice for baby to turn up on there own accord. That stupid cow that's made me go through all this faff offered to do mine, she can keep her hands to herself! They didn't have this medical stuff years ago and some women went over 42 weeks! I have just read a book about midwives and how it varies from county to county. In fact I haven't got an appointment booked yet and don't think I will be booking one until this storm rides over, until after Thursday minimum and still if nothing happens in the next few days when I might get to see toy story 4 🤣.
@TheScaredyKat have you had any symptoms yet that the end is near? I keep feeling Braxton hicks ramping up and baby pushing down but then any slight discomfort ends up being a fart 💨🤣🤣

Giraffe888 · 24/06/2019 08:30

@Capybaras I’m due 27th July but c sec booked for 19th. I work in retail so on my feet most of time. If I vary what I’m doing between sitting and standing I’m not too bad, do one for too long and I’m in agony with my back. Already am this morning and I’m not even at work yet!

We fitted the isofix base into our car yesterday. You’ve got the exciting things to do! X

TheScaredyKat · 24/06/2019 08:48

@TwinkleDay I haven't really been having Braxton hicks but definitely felt some twinges the last few days so maybe that's them. Also baby was pushing down so hard the other night I felt like he might burst his bubble! Been having dodgy tummy on and off aswell which can be a sign.

My midwife is quite nice, she said it's up to me if I want the sweep. But I do have an appointment booked for this Thursday because she said that's when they'll book an induction for 42 weeks whether I end up needing it or not.

Think I might start encouraging things along. Perhaps a hot curry this week, I think DH is hopeful that he might get some action at last but we'll see about that! 😂

Capybaras · 24/06/2019 09:01

That must be tough being on your feet all day @Giraffe888 bet you can't wait to finish - I was certainly counting down the days!

That sounds promising @TheScaredyKat how far along are you?

At what point is everyone going to try and get things moving? I feel like I don't want to get started yet as we still have things to do. I nearly turned down DH for sex the other day in case it kick started labour 😂 it didn't but I did lose some plug the day after. Also was quite difficult with bump in the way!

Chinks123 · 24/06/2019 09:26

A dodgy tummy was my first sign when I had dd. I’d been symptom spotting for weeks but when it actually happened I was oblivious. I think it was because it was my due date so I just thought it couldn’t possibly be it.

My waters actually went during sex...(I’d felt fine up until that point) but as soon as they went my contractions started, with only 2 minutes between them. We rushed to hospital and within 3 hours dd was born.

Just ordered his crib and last few bits so I can settle and wait for him now. Hope everyone’s okay!

TwinkleDay · 24/06/2019 09:36

As predicted a waste of time I called up and the midwife on the phone had to call the lab, I don't have gestational diabetes! 🙄

That was the sixth phone call! Looks like we can go ahead and have sex now ! As i can go back to plan one... ffs.

Dodgy tummy? I know the body has a good clear out before hand... I eat lots of fruit and veg would this effect anything? I'm rather regular so to speak lol

DianaBlythe · 24/06/2019 10:21

It’s a very odd time isn’t it? Knowing it could
be any time but could still be weeks! Wondering if every twinge is something or not.

4/7 of our NCT lot have given birth now and
I’m next by due date. 39 weeks today.

DH got me some pineapple to eat during Aladdin after the flurry of births and I had diarrhoea the next day. Been constipated if anything over the weekend though! Having a growth scan this evening as tailing off on the chart. I know they’re woefully inaccurate. Not sure what they’ll say or if I’d want an induction if they suggested it.

TheScaredyKat · 24/06/2019 10:31

@Capybaras 39+4 now, due this Thursday! Eeek

Kentishgal · 24/06/2019 10:35

Good news twinkleday - wow can't believe you're all due imminently - those initial few scary weeks seem like only yesterday. Hopefully the birth announcements starting coming in soon!! Seems like a while for me yet but I'm hoping that stays the case as have loads of things to do!

OP posts:
HchyScott · 24/06/2019 10:38

Got all excited this morning as I woke up with period type pain, got up, walked around and went for a wee and they went off!!

blueeyedviking · 24/06/2019 10:49

I just walked to my GP (15min) and feel like the baby is falling out. It's so bottom heavy!

I've got two weeks to go, but I'm going to start bouncing on my ball, continue with my short daily walks and probably have some spicy food. I'm really not in the mood for sex to be honest! Just feels weird.

@hchyscott that happened to me yesterday! Just a waiting game really.

HchyScott · 24/06/2019 11:01

@blueeyedviking I know that feeling too! And with the spd it makes my pubic bone burn! Unbelievably up for trying doing the deed to evict little one, but DH is massively put off, last time we attempted it I couldn’t walk.. this pelvis has a lot to answer for!!
What’s your due date again?

Capybaras · 24/06/2019 11:51

Oh wow you're really close then @TheScaredyKat

That must have been fun @Chinks123 😂

I'm struggling to walk very far now and quite breathless, but trying to go for walks to get things moving. Also been a bit pooey the last few days (pregnancy is delightful)

blueeyedviking · 24/06/2019 14:03

10th July @hchyscott so almost 38 weeks.

So after my piles suspicion my GP said I've got grade 3 prolapsed hemorrhoid. Yeeey... She confirmed it's all due to the baby's head pushing down as dont have any other symptoms. Which is of course a good sign but wow I'm getting fed up being in pain all the time. Between normal preggo stuff, my back issues and now this I think it's purely sofa for me moving forward...

Def get yourselves checked if you think you have it!

@Capybaras Hills are a struggle! Have the baby dropped yet as that helps a bit.

Capybaras · 24/06/2019 17:26

That doesn't sound pleasant @blueeyedviking is there anything you can do to help it, or is it a case of baby needs to be born?

Well baby has been 3/5 engaged for a few weeks now but don't feel like my bump has dropped. Not breathless all the time - mostly when I lie down which is odd!

So tired, only been for brunch and for a top-up shop and want a nap!

BeckyButterfly · 24/06/2019 18:01

Can't believe how close everyone is getting! I'm not due till the 24th of July so still 4 weeks on Wednesday. I have 4 weeks left at work including this one so it does not feel like the end is in sight at all!

cravingmilkshake · 24/06/2019 18:31

@BeckyButterfly how are you going that long at work?

I'm due 21st July so 3weeks and 6 days to go for me but I finish on Thursday for 2 weeks annual leave then followed by mat leave on the 15th!

I have two more assignments due in at the weekend then I am free!

HchyScott · 24/06/2019 19:08

@BeckyButterfly I remember you saying about teaching and working to the end of school term
But blimey, I just couldn’t do it, hope you manage to!

BeckyButterfly · 24/06/2019 20:16

Yeah, I'm a teacher so want to see out the end of the school year. It'll be 5 days before my due date if I make it. For now I don't see why I wouldn't but obviously a lot can change in the finally four weeks.
I've been pretty lucky with feeling alright in pregnancy since my first trimester sickness ended. I still have some sickness at times but nothing I can't manage and I haven't had any major issues in terms of back pain etc. Just the usual pregnancy aches and pains really. I usually suffer from sciatica but weirdly it has been absolutely great since I fell pregnant and I haven't had it all so I actually think I have less back pain whilst pregnant than I do normally..! 😂

blueeyedviking · 24/06/2019 20:32

@beckybutterfly I really hope you make the last few weeks, sounds like you will 😊

@Capybaras It should go away once baby is born yes. Got some pills so hoping that will help too 🤞

Doing our online hypnobirthing course tonight, def helped me prepare mentally for labour!

Jxtina86 · 25/06/2019 10:40

Morning ladies - just had my 38 week appt. Head still down, but not quite engaged as of yet. She said if it's engaged at 40 weeks, she'll offer me a sweep then, but I'm still undecided as to whether to go for it then or wait until 41 weeks as I've previously thought of doing. At the end of the appt she said 'well, hopefully see you in two weeks, but if not, good luck!' Feels so strange to now be at that point! Also that if I get to 41 weeks, they automatically book you in for an induction 5 days later here (not sure if that's the same everywhere though).

Also now reached that point where perfect strangers are now commenting on my bump - the lady in the post office asked how long I had left and then a woman walking her dog said 'ooh, bet you're not enjoying this weather in your condition!' It's bizarre...!

StargazyDrifter · 25/06/2019 12:33

Jxtina86 oh absolutely on strangers! I find it baffling, DH finds it rude. It's somehow as if a pregnant woman is public property, everyone has a view/assumption.... I don't think they mean it badly, but I would definitely rather they kept their thoughts to themselves.
