Thought we had better start a new thread - wonder if we'll see some (more) babies arriving on this thread...

Oh twinkleday that's so frustrating - why are they so insistent when your tests are coming back fine? Not the stress you need. I mentioned to midwife about glucose in urine at 35 wks and she just said, well there's very little they'd do at this stage anyhow (albeit it was all fine when she checked this week). Hope all is ok for you tomorrow. jxtina86I think it's wise to warn people- I am not making any plans for 8 weeks until I know how I feel as last time I just over did it and let people walk all over me - I intend to enjoy it and take my time this time!

Spa day was lovely thanks everyone, we went for lunch afterwards and had ice cream by the sea :)

@TwinkleDay I was just thinking whether they would change your birth plan ie not let you go over due or suggest induction, but it all sounds a bit crazy. Your cornered into going for the test really.

@Kentishgal thumbs up to no more commute :)

BeckyButterfly · 20/06/2019 19:10

@StargazyDrifter I've never had a c section but it is pretty major surgery so I'd be worried about all that walking so soon afterwards. I'm not speaking from experience though so other people would be able to advise better I imagine.

Ahhh @TwinkleDay, that is so infuriating! I'm pretty sure they are just doing this to be awkward now 😩

StargazyDrifter · 20/06/2019 23:35

Thanks everyone! I will manage expectations their side just in case.

TwinkleDay that does seem v frustrating. Could it be something to do with the baby's glucose levels on birth, if you were to have GD, and the unit not being equipped to help with that maybe? Is that what they are looking to rule out? But then your tests seem ok... That's the only reason I can think they'd be so insistent really. But I'm no doctor, just a guess.

Yukka how lovely! Love ice cream by the sea.

blueeyedviking · 21/06/2019 14:47

How is everyone today?

I've had a pregnancy treatment. Made me sit and bend my neck while doing a back massage, was a bit strange. I'm used to laying on my side 🤷🏼‍♀️

My piles are clearly being aggravated by movement as are ok if I relax. Not sure anusol is working so got a GP appointment on Monday.

Anyone feeling any labour signs yet? I had some real pains earlier, think it was BH just very strong. My DH said jokingly 'why dont you learn to like it to prepare for labour' 🙄 I told him to shut it.

HchyScott · 21/06/2019 17:27

@blueeyedviking
Soo wish I could afford a massage 😍 lost my plug at the beginning of this week and having very strong but not painful BH. Today was the first time I had sharp pains down low in my bump but nothing that stays around. Just playing the waiting game and symptom spotting constantly!

StargazyDrifter · 21/06/2019 17:48

blueeyedviking my DH also got told to shut it earlier today, I accidentally liked him (genuine accident!) and he was all oww oww oww. When I said imagine having those inside you with no warning he said yes but your body is designed to take it. Mistake. 😂

Baby 1/5 engaged, MW took some blood tests too, no signs of labour but, at the risk of sounding completely nuts, I do suddenly have these v short bursts of intense happiness. Like there will be a random 30-60 seconds of feeling absolutely elated and in love, euphoric even. Then it goes again and I'm back to my over-tired, piles nursing self. I wonder if that's oxytocin or something. It's lovely, even if it's just chemical, especially after all the antenatal depression and anxiety. But I don't really feel I can say this out loud to anyone!

blueeyedviking · 21/06/2019 18:08

Sounds like something is happening @HchyScott ! Especially if you have lost your plug, exciting! I'm symptom spotting too although nothing spotted yet. Just have to play the waiting game..

@stargazydrifter I'm same! Intense happiness and joy realising I'm having a baby. I've been excited the whole time of course, but feels more real now that I'm 37 + weeks. And glad you told your DH to shut it too. Sometimes they can be a bit 🙄

I had a builder say to me yesterday when walking past, oh you are ready to pop aren't you!? Weirdo.

BirthdayKake · 21/06/2019 18:11

Found you all!

Hope everyone's well.

My baby seems to have had a growth spurt so can hopefully have a home birth rather than be induced. Should find out on July 3rd at my 38 week scan!

Kentishgal · 21/06/2019 20:02

blueeyedviking I feel your piles pain! And I swear anusol does very little - well, it did for me, the gp gave me "uniroid" (lovely name) and that has helped - albeit it's got a bit worse in the past 24 hrs. I'm planning batch cooking, tidying, cleaning and sorting out the nursery this week (and a few bits of work I stupidly didn't finish this week). Then next week will be a pregnancy massage and catching up on some sleep (not sleeping much with this cold). Everyone at work kept saying the same comments "ooh you're so big, you look so uncomfortable, bet it won't be long blah blah". I smiled sweetly (on the outside).

blueeyedviking · 21/06/2019 21:16

Thanks @Kentishgal - ill ask for that and see what the GP says.

The fact its come a bit out of the blue and I dont have other symptoms its apparently related to the baby dropping, so at least it's that!

Yukka · 22/06/2019 07:11

@blueeyedviking oh that would make sense, baby went down about 2 weeks ago and that's when mine appeared but no symptoms. No constipation or anything that would typically set it off.

Giraffe888 · 22/06/2019 15:51

I’ve no symptoms with my piles either. I agree the Anusol doesn’t seem to be doing anything!

Just home from work. Had a long 4 days of 3 x 11 hour shifts and a 10 hour shift on my feet all day. Feet are aching!

blueeyedviking · 22/06/2019 17:10

Oh @Giraffe888 you must be exhausted!

Huh interesting that none of us had symptoms. I'm sure it will be all worth it in the end 😊

Kentishgal · 22/06/2019 20:31

You know you've got bad skin when your three yr old sits at the dinner table and starts counting up how many spots they can see. She clearly hasn't learnt about social etiquette yet.

OP posts:
TwinkleDay · 23/06/2019 09:12

Well 48 hours after the glucose blood test and 4 phone calls to the clinic they still don't have my results.

I still don't know where I can give birth and my head is full of worry for when it all kicks off!!

39 + 3 well done nhs Lincs 😡

BeckyButterfly · 23/06/2019 10:16

Absolutely ridiculous @TwinkleDay! I honestly can't believe they've put you through that so close to your due date. Especially since it just seems like they are doing it to cover their backs as opposed to doing it to protect you and baby. I hope they sort themselves out soon and you can have peace of mind knowing you can stick to your original birthing plan.

cravingmilkshake · 23/06/2019 14:25

Hey ladies,

Finally hit week 36 today! 4 days left at work and then I'm finished.

I wondered if there was any last minute things I need to do that perhaps you second time around parents could advise that you maybe wished someone had told you!

X

BirthdayKake · 23/06/2019 20:57

Good luck TwinkleDay, Lincoln hospital don't have the best rep! You must be due around my birthday? It's on Friday!

Kentishgal · 23/06/2019 21:16

Yes birthdaycake, anecdotally, we had a horrible experience with Lincoln hospital with my MiL when she was admitted there on holiday. She was then transferred over to Nottingham which was far nicer. Good luck twinkleday - can't believe you're almost 40wks!

OP posts:
BirthdayKake · 23/06/2019 21:32

Kentishgal crazy that you've had bad experiences too!

TwinkleDay · 23/06/2019 21:50

Yep I don't want to go to Lincoln, it's not convenient over an hour away! My birthing centre is 20 mins down the round. And when I ring up in the morning after calling 5 times this weekend it will be 3 days since the test on Friday morning.

I'm due Thursday... 27th somehow I feel I will be still sat pregnant this time next week, there isn't much room in there now baby time to come out!

TheScaredyKat · 23/06/2019 21:54

Fingers crossed it's all sorted tomorrow @TwinkleDay
Good luck for when it all kicks off! I was also offered a sweep for this coming Thursday (on his due date). I've also declined, I might consider at 41weeks. I feel like he's going to come on his own, I was convinced it was starting last night but it came to nothing in the end

Giraffe888 · 24/06/2019 06:21

@TwinkleDay good luck when you ring this morning. It’s disgusting things are like this so near to your due date!

Hope everyone else is well? I had the day off yesterday but we were busy all day so i don’t feel anymore refreshed!

Capybaras · 24/06/2019 07:55

Hope you manage to get everything sorted today @TwinkleDay

That sounds like my mat leave @Giraffe888 so busy at the moment trying to get everything sorted! Mega tired too - I'm waking up then having a nap a few hours later.

Lost a bit of my plug a few days ago but nothing else has happened since so feel like I'm going to be waiting a while.
