Congratulations on the arrival of your little girl, Paul. I can’t imagine how stressful it must be but I hope she improves rapidly.

toasterstrudle · 21/05/2019 09:00

Oh Paul I'm so sorry for the worry you are going through. Sending strength to you and your wee girl.

Ksjourney · 21/05/2019 09:30

Congratulations PHSG she is where she needs to be for now and I hope she will be in your arms soon.
Big hug to those of you who need it!

rollerskaterdata · 21/05/2019 09:41

@DinoMamasaurus it's amazing how every pregnancy/labour experience is different isn't it, people say it all the time but actually experiencing it is another matter! I'm 38+5 today and didn't even make it this far last time so feel totally unprepared! Seeing consultant later so will see what she thinks and make a plan going forward. Hope you don't end up in latent labour for as long as I am!

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut congratulations on the birth of your little girl, sorry she's had to be put on a ventilator but I have everything crossed that she'll make a speedy recovery and be able to be by your side very soon x

swiftfox · 21/05/2019 10:23

@paulhollywoodssexgut congratulations on your little one! I feel the pain of watching your newborn being wheeled away after a short cuddle. I hope she's off the ventilator soon! Flowers

Fizzytonicplease · 21/05/2019 12:49

@paulhollywoodssexgut congratulations on the birth of your little girl, i hope she is of the ventilator soon x

@rollerskatadata hope you haven't got much longer to wait.

Ive got my mw tomorrow and second growth scan on friday, im 34 +3 and baby feels lower.

WeeBean · 21/05/2019 13:11

@PaulHolywoodsSexGut congratulations on the arrival of your wee girl! Finger and toes crossed she's off the ventilator and back in your arms asap!

DinoMamasaurus · 21/05/2019 15:39

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut Congratulations on your baby girl! Everything crossed she is off the ventilator and all good ASAP.

@rollerskaterdata - yup exactly this pregnancy has been so different! Hope your consultant is helpful and the latent labour turns into the real deal and a lovely birth!

hexagon01 · 21/05/2019 15:50

So much love to you and your girl PHSG, really hope she improves soon.

I’m on my way to hospital again as I’ve got a high fever and had chills and generally felt really awful all afternoon, it came on very fast and they need to rule out sepsis etc. Really hoping it’s just a virus or even a UTI.

Kescilly · 21/05/2019 17:47

That sounds miserable @hexagon01. Hope they rule out anything sinister and can get you on some antibiotics quickly if it’s a UTI.

Fabuluce · 21/05/2019 19:46

Congratulations @PaulHollywoodsSexGut and am keeping everything crossed your little girl will be breathing well and back in your arms ASAP. X

@hexagon01 how are you doing?

coastergirl · 21/05/2019 20:01

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut congratulations on her safe birth. I have everything crossed for you that she is back in your arms very soon.

@hexagon01 I hope it's not too serious!

I couldn't agree more about each pregnancy being different. I am so uncomfortable this time and in pain. Braxton hicks, pains. I want this baby out!

Had a scan today to see if baby is breech, was so sure it would be like with my DS but it's not! I can't quite believe it and now I'm freaking out about birth and going over due!

rollerskaterdata · 21/05/2019 20:42

@hexagon01 oh my word, sorry to hear that!
How did you get on??

We're a right pair. I left hospital not long ago after being taken there via ambulance just before lunchtime. I was out and about with my DS when I had this really weird and scary episode of not being able to breathe at all no matter what I did or what position I adopted. We were in a place with no one else around, I thought I was going to pass out or die (dramatic I know!) because I literally could not breathe. I ended up calling 999 who called an ambulance which took me to hospital. I’m fine now though and all my observations and tests have come back clear, the scan and CTG of the baby is fine too. Crisis averted, I’ve been allowed to go home and have been booked for induction just after my due date next week if baby hasn’t come yet. If it happens again though or I have reduced movements beforehand they will induce me on the spot. Sigh.

hexagon01 · 21/05/2019 22:26

Ahh @rollerskaterdata that sounds horrendous and scary, but glad you’ve been able to go home.

I’m in overnight, possible chest infection, raised pulse and breathing, random fainting spell, on the antibiotic drip and going to be sent for a chest X-ray soon. Baby is fine and I’m feeling much better than earlier so hopefully just in one night. Thanks for your well wishes :)

Bizawit · 22/05/2019 13:22

Congrats @PaulHollywoodsSexGut!! Baby #2. One girl, one boy :).

So sorry to hear that your baby is having difficulties and in NICU. Wishing you both well and a really speedy recovery for your DD xxx

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 22/05/2019 14:13

Updating with good news: she is out of NICU, have had skin to skin hugs, she is feeding well and I’m over the moon.

Note: a consequence of breastfeeding I forgot about is the need to poop. Am sitting in a public loo on the ward making my second “delivery” in this hospital and hoping the High Dependency ward don’t think I’ve absconded x

Bizawit · 22/05/2019 14:27

Yay PHSG :) that's wonderful news. Congratulations xx

rollerskaterdata · 22/05/2019 14:29

@hexagon01 how are you feeling today?

hexagon01 · 22/05/2019 17:21

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut that’s amazing news, and so brilliant that she’s feeding so well after all of that. Hope you’re able to enjoy her from now on. Being in hospital is giving me toilet flashbacks 😳 don’t think it was even that bad for me in the end but the buildup was!!

@rollerskaterdata I feel much better thank you! Got to be kept in another night for more obs which is a bit annoying but better safe than sorry I suppose. Looking forward to getting this cannula out!! How have you been feeling since your ‘episode’?

DinoMamasaurus · 22/05/2019 19:38

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut that’s wonderful news so glad. Hope the loo trip wasn’t traumatic!!

@hexagon01 great that you are feeling better and hope you are all good too @rollerskaterdata.

rollerskaterdata · 22/05/2019 20:56

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut ahh so glad she's out of NICU! And I hope you managed to make your, ahem, deposit
Do you know when you'll be allowed to go home?

@hexagon01 definitely better safe than sorry although I completely understand how you'd just want to go home, I'm not a fan of hospitals and hate staying in them even more, funnily enough that's the one bit I'm dreading about labour and birth!

I'm feeling better, thanks for asking @DinoMamasaurus @hexagon01 and at 39 weeks tomorrow I'm wondering how much more I can take, I'm so huge and uncomfortable it's ridiculous. I'm also getting bombarded with messages of 'is baby here yet?!' and even randomly bumping into women from my pregnancy exercise class or antenatal classes around town who were due around the same time as me (next week) and have had their babies! I think I'm getting a bit of preggo rage / jealousy Blush

Heyha · 22/05/2019 20:58

Oh it's all going on with us isn't it, I've only not checked for a couple of days!
@paul brilliant news, @hexagon and @rollerskater hope you're both on the mend soon. Lots of people have gone from 'tiny bump' to 'woah you're huge' this week for me but other than that I think we're ticking along.

toomanyflatwhites · 22/05/2019 21:43

@Paul that's fantastic news, so happy to hear she's doing well!

hexagon01 · 23/05/2019 19:22

@Kescilly how is your Dad?
