I couldn't see a new thread so started one, hope that's OK.

Massive congratulations @swiftfox. So exciting to have our first baby!

Hi all, wondering if someone could add me back to the FB group, got locked out of my old fb account so ended up making a new one!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 19/05/2019 22:46

@PurpleThistles If you message me your email address I can add you back in tomorrow. X

Pigriver · 19/05/2019 22:52

I was wondering if we needed another FB shout out. There doesn’t seem to be many of us there!

Anyone else want in?

PurpleThistles · 19/05/2019 23:23

Sorry, I'm trying so hard to keep up but things have been really manic trying to sort out my son's schooling. Plus I'm awake half the nights with pains, so absolutely exhausted. Not sure if it's braxton hicks or trapped wind but hope I don't have another month of it! I need my sleep!
I have a scan today (standard at 36 weeks in my area) and am 37 weeks on Wed so it's all flying past.

Swift I do hope your home soon!

Naps try not to panic yourself. You will find a way to manage - purely because you'll have to. And I don't mean that in a harsh way, it's what I tell myself whenever I get weighed down with my son's SEN etc. You are exactly what your children need. Flowers

KoalasAteMyHomework · 20/05/2019 07:02

And Paul good luck today!!!!

fee1234 · 20/05/2019 07:40

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut good luck for today! X

Napssavelives · 20/05/2019 07:43

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut thinking of you today, good luck!

Blue09 · 20/05/2019 08:06

Am I too late to join? Due 14.06 and expecting a girl. This will be my second, first is a boy and he’s 2.

Starting to think about bulk cooking and freezing meals for the early days. Anybody else done this or planning to? I’m looking for some meal ideas!

swiftfox · 20/05/2019 08:09

@paulhollywoodssexgut good luck today!!! Hope it goes well!

We had our first night at home! The place is a mess - I've not been home in ten days and dh has only made dashes in and out to get stuff or sleep a few hours. But we're getting there! He's cooking and tidying and going shopping and I'm concentrating only on baby care for now. He needs to feed a minimum amount every three hours, which is hard because we sometimes need to wake him up. Preterm babies tend to be a bit more sluggish and sleepy. We're practicing breastfeeding too but mainly I'm expressing and feeding from a bottle - he latches on but loses interest quite quick. Still, we are trying.

Oh @hexagon01 I know how awful that wouldt have been... So glad you had a positive breastfeeding experience and I hope it'll be the same for me x

Oh, also interested in a fb group Smile

MadeInCornwallx3 · 20/05/2019 09:28

Anyone else wants to come to FB just PM me the email address linked to your account I can add this morning.

We have another baby over there it's all very exciting 😊

hexagon01 · 20/05/2019 16:09

At the MAU for my first episode of reduced movements and obviously as soon as I arrived in the waiting room I’m having stronger movements than possibly ever before? Obviously a relief but I feel silly for being here!

Spargle · 20/05/2019 17:27

@hexagon01 I think the strongest movements I’ve ever had were while I was being monitored for reduced movements. Think maybe he could hear the monitor (good range of hearing in both parents!), and also he didn’t like me lying on my back... It was a very nice relief, though!

I tend not to worry about looking stupid. Going in reassures me, and gets me more in touch with the normal range of baby’s movements. The time he moved so much, I had to get back for a scan a few days later, and was also monitored a few days later, and this got me through the day he was really sluggish while I was working abroad.

You were worried, and you went in as instructed. Good work!

Napssavelives · 20/05/2019 18:13

Placenta moved enough to clear me for a normal delivery. Only by 0.5cm but that’s enough !

hexagon01 · 20/05/2019 18:58

Thanks @Spargle, you’re absolutely right and I know I would say the same to anyone else! Luckily the midwife was absolutely lovely too, so all’s good.

That’s fantastic news @napssavelives!!

DinoMamasaurus · 20/05/2019 19:49

Aaah I only just found the new thread! Definitely baby brain as if we would all have gone quiet!

I’ve been having proper lower back pains and cramps all day so not sure if i’m gearing up to something or it’s just a tease!

rollerskaterdata · 20/05/2019 20:00

@DinoMamasaurus in the same boat, I've been having them for a week and a half now and have been losing large globs of my plug over the last 3 days and still nothing! Very frustrating!

toomanyflatwhites · 20/05/2019 20:29

Fantastic news @Napssavelives!

HoneyPea · 20/05/2019 21:35

Great news @Napssavelives

We go for our scan to find out about the placenta tomorrow morning. Although we now also need baby not to be breech 🤦‍♀️

DinoMamasaurus · 20/05/2019 22:00

@rollerskaterdata oh man that is frustrating. Fingers crossed it gets going soon. I don’t fancy a week (+!) of this. With my first I felt totally fine up to and beyond due date not even a twinge. Then lost my plug in one go on the morning and started getting contractions that night. I felt certain what was happening then but this time no clue!

Got a midwife appointment in the morning so will see what she thinks/if she’ll check me to see if anything is actually happening!

Great news on the placenta shift naps :)

KoalasAteMyHomework · 21/05/2019 07:00

naps that's great news

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut Hope you're OK!

Had my 36w scan yesterday (normal in my area) and baby is head down and measuring fine so great news. 37w tomorrow!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 21/05/2019 07:48

My little girl was born yesterday at 0950 and was fine for about an hour then was transferred to neo natal as her breathing deteriorated and then deteriorated some more.
She is on a ventilator and we hope this makes things better.
Yesterday was the best CSection I’ve ever had but the worst day of my life stress wise. I hope nothing else turns for the poorer. We love her and just want everything to get back to normal.
More later

toomanyflatwhites · 21/05/2019 08:13

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut sorry things went this way and hope things improve quickly. Sending love Thanks

Blondcat · 21/05/2019 08:21

@paulhollywoodssexgut congratulations. Glad the c section went well and hopefully it will only be a short stay in nicu

KoalasAteMyHomework · 21/05/2019 08:23

Paul congratulations on the arrival of your little girl! I'm sorry to hear she's struggling a bit but will keep my fingers crossed she'll pick up quickly and you'll all be home soon x
