I couldn't see a new thread so started one, hope that's OK.

Massive congratulations @swiftfox. So exciting to have our first baby!

Lovely news @fee1234

@napssavelives hope it starts ramping up for you soon!

I have my pre-op appointment today, ready for section tomorrow, and I’m having many FEELINGS.

Ksjourney · 10/06/2019 07:23

Oh congratulations @fee1234 witch hazel in the pad is good for relief for the stitches. Hopefully you go home soon.

Napssavelives · 10/06/2019 07:25

Everything died off overnight, I decided to try rest even though I felt restless and wanted to keep mobile with the hope of things intensifying. Hopefully they’ll have done something though, have midwife and another sweep booked for tomorrow so fingers crossed things are moving in the right direction

excitedmama · 10/06/2019 07:47

@fee1234 Oh bless you :( I had all this with my first. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery and discharge soon. xxx

Still no baby here either. I was timing some dull pain last night but it wore off, obviously he just wanted to move every half an hour. I feel so helpless! 2 days overdue but it feels like 2 weeks Confused

annihall · 10/06/2019 22:30

Our baby girl Mila arrived today (on her due date!) after 18 hours of labour. Absolutely exhausted but managed without pain relief... over the moon and so in love with our little girl. She's only 6lb and 48cm, so they're keeping me in until tomorrow so I hopefully get the whole feeding thing before going home. Really struggling so far as she doesn't seem to get how it works (or I'm doing it wrong haha), even midwifes tried to position her but she doesn't latch...

fee1234 · 11/06/2019 02:06

@annihall congratulations!!

I'm home now, but can't believe how much pain I'm in. I can't get in a comfortable position to breastfeed, can barely walk or sit or even lie down! I'm about to send DP to the shop for formula. Breastfeeding was going so well too, hopefully I can get a pump and express tomorrow to keep my supply up and sub with formula until I've healed a bit more.

toomanyflatwhites · 11/06/2019 10:31

Ahh congratulations @annihall! And @fee1234 I'm not sure I congratulated you yet but also sorry to hear you are suffering - I think after any birth it's normal to feel like you've been hit by a truck and the stitches etc definitely don't help matters. Wishing you a speedy recovery and hope things settle in the next couple of days.

I'm just having a coffee before heading to the MW for a sweep - my first one (ever) and not sure what to expect! I can't decide whether to mentally prepare for going into labour today or for it to do nothing (as I suppose both are possible!). I'm 39+4 but as I'm almost 41 (years old!) I'll be in for induction on Friday if nothing happens before then. I suspect that my state of mind is going to be rather different within the next hour so am going to try and focus on staying calm and relaxed...

Napssavelives · 11/06/2019 10:44

Good luck @toomanyflatwhites I also have a sweep today, currently sat waiting for the midwife. Not overly comfortable so I’m really hoping it gets things moving

Kimbishop86 · 11/06/2019 10:52

Good luck with the sweeps ladies! I really hope it gets things moving for you! I'm also booked in for one of Friday (due date) but I had my bloody show this morning and think I'm having the start of contractions so not sure I'll need it! Fingers crossed things get going and this isn't a false alarm! I build the next to me crib a moment ago and am going washing and bag packing crazy just in case! Xx

Napssavelives · 11/06/2019 10:58

@Kimbishop86 that sounds promising!

Ksjourney · 11/06/2019 11:09

Good luck with sweeps and early contractions ladies. I'm still waiting here and getting increasingly frustrated as everyday I have about an hour of cramping then nothing. 40+6 so gonna get my induction date sooner than later.

toomanyflatwhites · 11/06/2019 11:45

How did it go @Napssavelives? Midwife made a valiant effort but my cervix was just too far back so she couldn't reach. It was a bit more uncomfortable than I was expecting but did lots of deep breathing which I think helped. Have got another try tentatively booked for Thursday at home as long as they aren't swamped with new babies!

Napssavelives · 11/06/2019 12:05

@toomanyflatwhites no real changes from last week. She gave it a good old go, bit of bleeding but I’m not overly convinced it’ll do anything .

2countries1bump · 11/06/2019 17:12

@Kimbishop86 if it's not too personal what did your show look like? Red and fresh or pinky/brown? I've had something today but not very sure what to make of it, especially without other symptoms.

Napssavelives · 11/06/2019 17:32

Unless I go into labour by Monday there is a good chance I’ll doing it alone. My birthing partners DH is away Monday-Thursday next week. I’m due Friday. Ds1 born 38+5, dd2 40+4. Cervix isn’t favourable and beginning to worry that I’m going to be doing this alone.

Kimbishop86 · 11/06/2019 17:35

@2countries1bump it was a bit of everything tbh, when I woke up there was brown in my pad, but when I wipe there is a little more fresh blood. Very light tho, kind of like the very beginning or very end of a period. Also been having cramps all day which are much more frequent when I move around. But not bad enough that I can't do anything yet! X

2countries1bump · 11/06/2019 18:53

@Kimbishop86 mine just very slight and pinky brown in afternoon but midwife has said come in to check it isn't my waters....

Kimbishop86 · 11/06/2019 19:12

@2countries1bump oh blimey, well I'm sure mine wasn't my waters it really wasn't much at all! I'm going to start timing the contractions tho as they are getting stronger now! X

hexagon01 · 11/06/2019 20:59

My baby girl was born this morning by elective caesarean. She was taken to SCBU after about 20 mins due to breathing difficulties and was there and away from me for about 5 hours which was awful, but she’s doing amazingly now and has been back with me for a while. Feeding seems to be going well after a slow start, which is a huge relief after the difficulty I had with my last baby. She’s also 2 and a half pounds smaller than he was so feels absolutely tiny! Got a private room in hospital which is great, and hoping to go home tomorrow or the day after.

2countries1bump · 11/06/2019 22:42

@hexagon01 Congratulations!

So apparently my waters have broken and they will induce tomorrow if labour doesn't start. Shock

Napssavelives · 12/06/2019 06:40

I think my plug is starting to come away- not a bloody show but I’m fairly certain it’s my plug!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 12/06/2019 06:48

Congratulations to the babies and also feeling for you @hexagon01 been there and done that; ask your midwife if it was TTN, had this with DS and it made me feel weirdly better to know what it actually was.

@napssavelives good luck. You deserve a break from the months of tension you’ve had and if this is the big day I wish you the v v best for a stress free delivery that you’re in charge of x

lstef · 12/06/2019 08:58

Dropped off the thread for a while - my twins were born safely on 1st June by elective Cat 3 c-section at 38+5 after a failed induction (well, I stopped the process after not progressing enough for my liking). Boy Oskar 6lbs9 and girl Harpa 7lbs0.5. Not entirely sure how I carried over 13lbs of baby!

Congrats to everyone who has had theirs :)

2countries1bump · 12/06/2019 16:57

@Kimbishop86 how's it going? No labour for me so now strapped up to pre-induction monitoring.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 12/06/2019 16:58

Congrats @istef

How was the birth? Twins at 38+5 is great - they must have been warm and cozy in there!
