@kyles101 that's also interesting! Much cheaper too.
The description of how to use it and what it does seems a tad vague though. Can it also be used to practice stretching the perineum...? The Epi-no can be used for pelvic floor exercises and stretching: Probably does both but it doesn't specifically say...
Thanks for sharing!! I'll look into it further.

ColdCottage · 10/06/2019 20:39

Anyone been to places where you need mosquito repellent?

Read Deet is not good.

kyles101 · 10/06/2019 21:04

@iano no clue as I didn't really know what I was looking for at first but will deffo do a bit more research and keep you updated. Let me know what you find too? The reviews mostly look really good but I'm never too sure about "bought" reviews nowadays?

stormtrooperjulian · 10/06/2019 21:30

@ColdCottage I spent 3 weeks in a high risk malaria area a few weeks ago. I used 50% deet which is considered safe during pregnancy.

BBell2 · 10/06/2019 21:32

@Littlehouseinthebigcity we have watched a considerable amount of cbeebies too! Highlights of this thrilling day were a trip to home bargains, a fringe trim for DD and one work call I really had to do having a total tech failure....lalalalala. less cryign today though, that was me also yesterday.
Tell yourself Cbeebies is good quality programming, at least there isnt all the crap milkshake ads looping!

BBell2 · 10/06/2019 21:35

@Hsunshine I think we only had 2-3 moses sheets, 2 for the crib etc. Dd puked loads but always on me! :D

IVEgottheDECAF · 10/06/2019 21:41

2-3 sheets should be fine don't think i have ever had more. Your washing machine will be on often anyway!

27+4 eating everything. Anyone else?

Stroan · 10/06/2019 21:45

Only ever had 2 sheets for everything. Muslin under the head to catch sick. And she had reflux so lots of sick.

@ivegotthedecaf the opposite. No space left for food, nausea back with a vengeance and hate the GD diet. I have bought myself a massive box of M&S chocs for my hospital bag though!

TwittleBee · 10/06/2019 21:48

Eating everything here Decaf although only 26 weeks (tomorrow). These next couple of weeks are the weeks I remember rapidly expanding with DS

iano · 10/06/2019 21:54

Will do @kyles101

ColdCottage · 10/06/2019 21:55

Thanks @stormtrooperjulian can I ask where you found the info that 50% was safe as I'm really struggling. Thank you 😊

IVEgottheDECAF · 10/06/2019 21:57

I was sick this morning actually. And a few days a go! I dont think i will be eating cornflakes again after this morning!

Going to write myself a list of stuff i want to ask the mw at some point as i always forget! App next tue.

Hsunshine · 10/06/2019 22:33

I accidentally brought 5 sheets for the cotbed because they were all so cute. Don’t even have a Moses basket or crib yet so nothing for that

Lavellan · 11/06/2019 05:04

Argh been wide awake since 4.15am. Literally just since the weekend my hips have exploded with pain over night. I don't think it's SPD, it feels like pressure points.
Genuinely wondering about buying padded shorts... we've a while to go.

TwittleBee · 11/06/2019 05:46

I'm the same Decaf ! Always end up either texting to ask or turning to Google after she has left!

Easily done when everything baby is so cute in the shops Hsunshine ! Least you won't have too much of a worry about washing and drying

Oh I sorry you're in pain Lavellan - worth mentioning to your MW / Dr though in case it's something they can help with?

TwittleBee · 11/06/2019 05:48

26 weeks today! 🙌 although bump is still tiny, I've actually put on 2kg over past 2 weeks so think ill be rapidly expanding soon?

Lavellan · 11/06/2019 06:25

Yeah got MW tomorrow anyway. I'm trying different things, think I'll ditch the maternity pillow tonight just in case it's making things worse.

Megan2018 · 11/06/2019 06:28

This weather is stressing me out. My maternity wear was not purchased with torrential rain and cold in mind!!
I’m going to have to try and squeeze into tights and a non maternity dress today as nothing else suitable really. Plus none of my coats do up now! Wishing I’d got some maternity tights now.
I had hoped that I’d get away without buying a coat for June-due date! Arrrggghh Sad

GemmaJen · 11/06/2019 07:01

@TwittleBee lovely little bump. Mine feels huge and is strangely angular, can't imagine getting even bigger! 🙈

boodles101 · 11/06/2019 09:10

I've put the cot up this morning. Fed up with looking at the box and waiting for DH. He'll moan at me for doing it but oh well, it wasn't heavy and was very easy to put together, even with DS stealing all the screws.
DS is doing my head in at the minute. Think he hit that terrible 2 stage that everyone dreads. He's literally turned into the devil within a week. So now not only is he not sleeping well, he's being a nightmare during the day. Really don't have much patience or know how to deal with it. Sleep is too of the agenda, think I'm going to have to do some tough love!

My bump is huge, I feel pretty much the same size as full term last time. And it's full up with babies, theres no extra space in there!! So for help me in another 8-10 weeks!!

Stroan · 11/06/2019 09:15

I've woken up without hip pain for the first time in weeks. Don't know if it's a coincidence but I propped myself up on a pillow mountain so there seemed to be less pressure on my hips if that makes sense?

28 weeks tomorrow so no more than 11 weeks to go, but more like 10. That finally feels achievable.

Anyone else have to sort out childcare for existing DC? My Mum is our plan but she needs to take holidays quite far in advance. Not knowing when my ELCS will be is making it a bit tricky. Could be anytime in August really but also possible to be pulled forward at any time, so we maybe need to sort out an alternative. No family within 2 hours and the only other person who has ever babysat has just had a baby herself. She would probably be happy to do it but feels like a huge ask.

TwittleBee · 11/06/2019 09:48

Lavellan hopefully that was what was causing it and tonight is better!

Megan I am kind of relieved the weather has toned down with the heat, I was really starting to stress how hot it might be in the proper summer!

GemmaJen thank you! Worried it is too small but guess we will see when it gets measured in couple weeks.

boodles101 our DS is at that terrible twos too, certainly lack of communication and testing boundaries that is causing it for us! Tiring work isnt it! He literally just wants me to sit on the floor next to him constantly atm which is wayyy too uncomfortable! Also he is trying to drop his naps, eeeek!

Stroan ah yay for the lack of hip pain! Hope that it stays off! My family have all decided to book holidays abroad around my due date so childcare could be an issue for us too... we do have a few friends we could probably turn too though I hope.

IVEgottheDECAF · 11/06/2019 10:11

I am also struggling coat wise! Not bloody buying one now though! Although i did just invest in a new umbrella.

2 year old DS had discovered throwing yourself face down on the floor in protest to anything and everything it seems!

Glad i am not working now tbh, not only would i be struggling for clothing but i would be even more tired and lacking patience for the DC!

Well done on the cot boodles ours is already up because DS hasnt been out of it long and it seemed pointless to put it down to get it back out again later this year!

My plan re pram is now to wait until about second week in July, see if Cosatto reduce either of my preferred patterns. If not buy the one in dont mind which is currently under £500 for everything. Can't justify an extra £350 for just colours and fabrics! Decided to go with a Cosatto due to how light i know they are.

Work still haven't confirmed i am not eligible for SMP, pretty sure its the case but need them to confirm and send my matb1 back plus some other form.

Stroan · 11/06/2019 10:25

@boodles101 @twittlebee toddler solidarity from me. Mine has been a nightmare for about 6 weeks. Hitting, screaming and massive tantrums over things like not running out in front of cars.

We're forcing her to drop her nap as it's just started to affect her nighttime sleep. I've had too many nights of a naked 3 yo running round the house at 9.30pm. But forcing her to drop her nap means I can't have a sneaky one! Hopefully if we can sort all the sleep out, she might calm down. But the idea of dealing with a tricky 3 yo and a newborn is not thrilling me.

@twittlebee I'm sure your friends will be happy to help. Worst case scenario, we'll put DD into nursery for the day and hope that someone can pick her up by 6 otherwise DH will have to leave the hospital. My main worry is that he misses the delivery because of childcare! With having GD, it seems that they could decide to do the section at quite short notice so planning ahead isn't necessarily easy.

IVEgottheDECAF · 11/06/2019 10:34

stroan i am having the opposite re sleep! I am now enforcing naps at some times by putting ds in the pushchair in the hall! Tbh this works well and he falls asleep quickly. He is best having a nap around lunch time or by tea time he is a wreck! He then tries to go to sleep on the sofa, doesnt want his tea etc etc!
