Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

goodluck tutter hopefully things are starting for you.xx

Hows it going pps..

bilblio · 16/07/2007 20:54

Kyte - I'm due the same day as you and I noticed the other night my stretch marks have suddenly multiplied. So much for the theory that if your mum didn't have them then you won't.

Ooh Good luck Princess, Tutter, and twoplusone, I wonder who'll be first.

My nesting instinct has definitely kicked in, I've run out of things to clean, or organise so today I finally got around to sanding down a blanket box I was given over a year ago. It's very nice, but it's varnished pine and everything else in my living room is dark oak. Thankfully I have an electric detail sander, but it still took several hours. Tomorrow after my MW appointment I'll take a trip to the DIY shop to get some wood stain and hopefully I'll have the energy to finish the job.

I gave DP a real fright half way through the sanding though. The heavens suddenly opened and as the box is too big for me to lift on my own so I shouted for him. As soon as the word "help" left my lips I knew what he'd be thinking. But at least he came to my rescue quickly and the box didn't get wet.
He spent the rest of the afternoon scowling at me (with a smirk on his face) and I couldn't stop giggling.
He must have forgiven me though becuase he's just cleaned the bath out so I can soothe away the aches from all the sanding.

JennsterSlugSlayer · 16/07/2007 21:05

Kyte NewLook do cheap belly bands. Hadn't even thought of using them post pregnancy, good idea! And breastfeeding will help (to a degree) to get back into shape. I found pushing a pram around as much as I could helped get rid of the hip and thigh weight.

Princesspowersparkle · 16/07/2007 21:41

JAM- going back into hospital tomorrow morning where they will assess me with probable induction. I know its bad but I am hoping they will induce- I don't think I can wait for days not knowing!! If they don't they don't but we'll see!

No contractions yet- not looking likely before the morning. Been sitting on my ball and bouncing.

Baby has really slowed down now- hardly feeling it. Will give it a couple of hours and if still not happy will call hosp. They said to if movements slowed significantly.

Hopefully will have some news soon, but will probably be back on here later unable to sleep!

Take care everyone, xxx

Morning all..
Hope everyone is ok.
No news from me on babs front.. think he is teasing me lol

Hope everything has started for you pps and everything is ok.

Have my dds end of term concert today, she is playing the guitar. It is this afternoon, looks like I will be making it....

xx

Myfairone · 17/07/2007 07:30

Morning all,
Twoplusone - Sorry to hear nothing yet! Maybe you will dramatically go into labour at your DD's concert!

PPS - I see no word from you so can we assume you are presently pushing your LO into the world? Sending over positive labour vibes anyway!

Well guys I slept!!!!! Can we please have a huge round of applause for Myfairone and her ability to sleep for a whole 2 hours straight without pee'ing!! woohoooo! Of course I have woken up with a headache now!

I have come to the conclusion I am going to be the last person on the thread...but thats okay! (no really!) Going to now use positive mental attitude to get me through. I mean whats the longest amount of time for me to go...3 weeks? maybe 3.5? Waited this long, whats another month! puh!

Big hugs to all and good luck to those of you who feel 'it all moving'!!!

twoplusone · 17/07/2007 08:35

It looks like it is going to be abother hot day here.. which makes it worse to go out. I would love to go for a nice walk but I just cant in this heat. I am sweating and all I have done is washup, hang washing out and put a load in .
Just had a lovely bacon sarnie.
Have given dh a lie in this morning, it is 9.30 here and I am bored bored bored.. DS is watchin Rory the racing car, we have had to tape it fromn the weekend so that he can watch it during the week too.

Just babbling now will go and find something to do.

Dumbledorf · 17/07/2007 08:43

Morning all.
Still no baby! I have had words, like you, myfairone and Kyte, but am being roundly ignored.

Felt really energetic yesterday and had quite a busy day - but also with the swollen ankles!

Am moving wildly from trying eveything to move the baby along to thinking "This is absolutely pointless, the baby will come when it's ready" and being all hippy accepting about the universe having a pace for everything etc etc

Hope someone gets a baby today!!

tiggsy · 17/07/2007 08:43

morning everyone - hope all is good with pps, and hopefully things will kick off soon twoplusone
this time next week i'll be getting prepped to meet my lo! everyday is really dragging now but i know i'm lucky really. haven't got the uncertainty of it.
sorry if tmi but think dp's given me food poisoning, been up most of the night so at least today i have an excuse to be lazy! he's absolutely fine tho, typical

keiralou · 17/07/2007 09:03

Morning all - sowho is it going to be today??? Looks like it won't be me.... Usual movements and tightenings but nothing out of the ordinary. Still, house not really ready to welcome a baby at moment although spent all of /sunday cleaning. Sorry if tmi but piles returned as a result and ankles swelled up. Yesterday at mw visit I had high blood pressure, but not too high

Am taking dd swimming today which we both love then more cleaning when she sleeps (hopefully) Was up at 4.30 today - finding it hard to sleep. Sunday night, I had a dream that the midwife said: "Looking at ths size and shape of you, that baby is going to be early" It promptly woke me up, couldn't sleep, imagining my waters had broken / was having contractions etc. But no sign... (Due tomorrow so wouldn't have been THAT early) Feel really tired now so may need to revise plans for day and sleep instead of clean!!

Good luck for all potentials

Myfairone · 17/07/2007 09:10

Twoplusone - I'm pretty bored myself so my mission today is to go to the Ford dealership and pester them until they can come up with a suitable solution for fitting my car seat in the back!
Bacon sarnie....mmmmmmm! Brown or tomato sauce?

Tiggsy, I do hope the upset tummy isnt a sign for labour!!! I am so jealous that you know when your going to meet your LO!

I told my LO last week that when the oil I have been using for stretch marks has gone that it needs to come out...Today I finished the bottle....So have had to remind LO that today is the day! Yeah right it thinks as it rests in its cozy little world getting fed regularly with whatever it tells me to eat

Dumbledorf - May try the hippy theory with you today. I'm not due till the end of the month so need to accept it for what it is...

Hope everyone has a great day and hope Princess is doing okay.

tiggsy · 17/07/2007 09:16

oh myfairone, had forgotten that... just spent the weekend getting everyone sorted for next week as well!! (dp doesn't drive)

Jamantha · 17/07/2007 09:28

Hi ladies, just saying hi and seeing how you're all doing. Am kind of glad I've missed all this hanging on at the end part, so sorry for those of you that have had enough - here's hoping that you don't have too much longer to wait for your LOs.

typhoonsmum · 17/07/2007 09:31

Myfairone. I'll also be one of the last so we can keep each other company.

Water is still off due to dripping pipes. Turned it on for an hour this morning so I could flush the loo and do the wshing up. Filled a few water bottles and the kettle and the bath with water to so at least I have some water around but had to turn it off again. DP has spoke to a plumber in work about it and he has recommended somethings so he is going to try them. He says if it isn't fixed by the time the baby is born i'll have to stay at my mum's or something. The way things are going that will be about three weeks yet so I HOPE it is fixed my then!

Congrats on any more babies born. I'm losing track of them all very fast.

for you typhoonsmum. You know what? I don't want dd to be a doctor or an architect or a lawyer. A plumber or plasterer or brickie would be great. We've done the same thing in the past. It's HORRENDOUS. it looks so easy, and just the slightest wrong move and you are swamped and have a very expensive fix up on your hands. Right now dd is walking around with a pair of my knickers around her neck though....

Myfairone · 17/07/2007 09:50

Jennster - Lol at your little one with your knickers!

Typhoonsmum - I really feel for you. It was more than I could take when we had our 'water problems' and I wasn't pregnant at the time! Poor you. I hope that it gets fixed soon.
I will keep you company till the end, no doubt!

JAM - 5 more days!!! wooohooo!

Tiggsy, didnt mean to worry you. Hope your okay. Maybe an idea to have a cab company at the ready though

Okay here is a dumb question which has been playing on my mind. I know that when the bub is first born you wash it in just plain water....and I know that if it has nappy rash you put Sudocrem (or similar) on it. But what if it doesnt have nappy rash....do you still put a barrier cream on it or anything? Or do you just wash with water and then put another nappy on?

SOrry if that question is silly but I honestly don't know. May as well educate myself while I sit and twiddle my thumbs!
