Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

Well...im nackered!!!!after trying the stairs a couple of times, i moved out into the garage, then about the garden, my backs very sore, still have the tightens but they are not as sore as they were earlier....see how i get on out in the garden this time.

agnesnitt · 25/07/2007 20:31

If you're shattered at least you'll sleep if nothing else

Dumbledorf · 25/07/2007 20:35

Oh WHY ARE WE WAITING..............

Congrats Miaou!

Thanks for the tips Melissa M. I have been doing a lot of nipple twiddling today, but kept falling asleep! It definitely made the bump tighten up and I felt a bit funny, but nothing major. I will try the breast pump tomorrow unless something miraculous happens tonight!

I read somewhere today that oral sex (giving not getting) is better than having sex cos the prostaglandin is more effective in your gut....my lucky dh!

Didn't actually make it out of the house today until dh came home, felt really tired and just out of sorts which I took to be a good sign, but nothing at all has happened.

oh well. hoping for a good nights sleep and ideally to be woken up in the night half way there!!

Good luck everyone....

keiralou · 25/07/2007 20:41

Dumbledorf - I also heard that about oral sex, but strangely the consultant I saw today didn't seem to mention it. She just told me to keep mobile.... well I'm sure she's never been pregnant before and doesn't realise how tiring it is just to try to keep mobile.

JennsterBubsLayer · 25/07/2007 20:49

REALLY don't think prostaglandin in tummy is more effective than prostaglandin directly applied to cervix.

lynnec · 25/07/2007 20:53

I'm now bouncing on the b/ball,i have mw app at 9am so see what she says...think after all that hard work i'll be having an early night!!

Goodluck to all those still waiting.

lynnec · 25/07/2007 20:54

I may just be able to manage some oral sex though ....anythings worth a try

Dumbledorf · 25/07/2007 20:59

Jenn- that's what I thought, especially as the pessaries they use for induction are prostaglandin and you don't eat those!! maybe it's some bloke's idea of a joke...Anyway, it's preferable to castor oil and induction, so..... (seriously, how much info is too much at this stage in the game?!)

agnesnitt · 25/07/2007 21:02

The way I've been feeling these last six months prostoglandin anywhere would have been fantastic

The irony of having a pregnancy where I am as horny as hell and don't actually have the man to take it out on is vast

Now, if I could find my damned phone I could send aforementioned male a text and tell him he's missing out on large portions or rampant sex and damned fine blow-jobs

JennsterBubsLayer · 25/07/2007 21:06

AGNES

agnesnitt · 25/07/2007 21:11

At least I'm honest

Plus, it would make a nice change to be given an orgasm or twelve instead of having to achieve them myself. We all know they're supposed to help, but it's only ever the naughty freaks like me who'll talk about it

Agnes

agnesnitt · 25/07/2007 21:12

Plus, I quite like giving oral

Agnes

JennsterBubsLayer · 25/07/2007 21:15

DIY orgasms help in the same way that nipple stimulation does .....

agnesnitt · 25/07/2007 22:20

Well, so far it's been as effective as sitting on my arse drooling at totty containing films

Might have to unpack the breast pump and have a go at the nipples over the weekend.

Agnes

Dumbledorf · 26/07/2007 05:53

LMAO!!!

I think it's all ineffective to be honest. Babies will come when they're ready. There's so much about pregnancy I just want to say "pah!" in a cynical fashion about.....due dates, birth plans, cravings....I honestly have tried everything except for eating a lot of pineapple and that's cos once I read that it contains such strong enzymes that if you eat enough of it, all your teeth will drop out....this baby is just rooted.

So, sitting here, on the ball, drinking raspberry leaf tea with my big fat swollen feet really feeling bored with all this ...WHY ARE WE WAITING....

Anyone else up?

typhoonsmum · 26/07/2007 08:46

I'm still here!

Tried that breast pump whilst watching "Heroes" last night. I got bored after 20 minutes of nothing happening. I don't have a very long attention span and absolutely NO PATIENCE.

Just as the last 15 minutes of Heroes was on DP came in and decided to clear all the coat hangers that live on top of the wardrobe. I swear he does it on purpose. EVERYTHING I tidy up he comes along and "improves" and messes it all up again.

Beyonceen · 26/07/2007 09:23

Hi, still here. Totally agree dumbledorf. I think this one is unaware of the exit routes. PLans on staying put. SHould we be moving around a lot? will that bring things on,cos what about all these lucky ladies who go into labour while they're sleeping? Had a couple of biggish contractions last night but of course it's come to nothing. Period cramps this morning. I'm not excited though cos i've realised, i'm not actually having a baby, i've just over indulged. shame.
bloody bloody fed up!!!!

Beyonceen · 26/07/2007 09:34

ok, so who is still here.?
I've put down the regualrs and due dates (if you actually believe in due dates)

Beyonceen 22nd July (40+4)
Keiralou 18th July (41+1)
dumbledorf ?
lynnec 27 July (39+6)
agnesnitt 20th July (40+6)
firststar 26th July (40)
typhoon 29th July (39+4)

is there anyone else out there??
(I can hear an echo...)

Dumbledorf · 26/07/2007 10:44

I was due (ha ha ha) on July 15th, so am 40 + 11 today!

I'm trying to keep upright and active - or at least to sit on the ball, but it's hard, lugging this bump around now.

Feel like starting a big demonstartion complete with placards "Baby, baby, baby, out out out!"

Waiting in for mw this am, just "routine" coming to check in with me to put my mind at rest etc etc. trying not to get paranoid about baby movements, but they all keep going on about it, so that's why I was up so early this am, coming for a cuppa cos I hadn't felt baby for about 40 mins.

So today's action includes my mate coming round to se me, going for lunch with my dad- -who like as not won't even ask any pregnancy related questions, which is kind of a relief - when I phoned the other night to give me mum the rolling news, news 24 stylee he didn't even ask how I was!! and I am contemplating trip into town to buy some clary sage, but may have to wait for dh to come home as not sure if I can cope with stuff like parking at this stage in the game!

So does anyone know what you actually do with the essential oils that alledgey bring onlabour (more stuff to go on the "pah" list, i expect), just mix them with massage oil and get someone to cover you in it? (your dh in return for all the "favours"!! Oh yeah, that didn't work either!!!)

Will stoprambling and go and try and find out about the sage.......

agnesnitt · 26/07/2007 10:46

I'm still here. Just had a lazy morning of refusing to exit my bed due to the fact I didn't want to

Agnes

lynnec · 26/07/2007 11:08

Im still here too...just back from hosp...they are happy to leave me 10 days although babies head is almost fully engaged but does that really mean anything????? We'll see!!!!

Hope you are doing well. x

typhoonsmum · 26/07/2007 11:17

Just had a nice long nap on the couch. Everytime I woke up could feel cramps but I think it is wind.

I think we should have a new attitude. Not waiting for the most comfortable babies in the world but seeing who can go the longest. Whoever has the longest pregnancy wins a prize. Not sure what but it'll stop all the waiting.

Dumbledorf. 40+11 is VERY impressive! Think I got to 40+9 with DD

typhoonsmum · 26/07/2007 11:21

PS Has anyone had ANY sign it might be coming.

TMI I haven't even had a "show" yet. Just extra slime.

typhoonsmum · 26/07/2007 11:23

It is my MIL wedding anniversary today. Her first one since her husband died in January. She put in a request to have the baby born today as she'd feel as tho FIL was pulling some strings upstairs.

I've tried my best but nothing seems to be happening.

agnesnitt · 26/07/2007 12:07

I'd be really freaked out at that. I think it's a bit creepy

I can't be bothered to go for a walk today, although I had every intention of popping to tesco express for a wander and a packet of biscuits.

Have informed ex that if I haven't popped by Sunday he is being banished upstairs with some porn and a plastic cup
