Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

Well done Princess/Jennster/Mellissa!!
Hope your LO's are behaving for you.
Good luck all the rest of you still hanging in there - it will happen eventually.

jendos · 23/07/2007 18:34

Wow! I've always been a lurker rather than a regular poster - I go away for a week and look at all the new arrivals! CONGRATULATIONS to everyone!!!

And just so I can see it on the stats.. Lauren Angelina born via c-section, July 18, 7:06 am (California time ), 8lbs 5 oz, 21 inches long

keiralou · 23/07/2007 19:57

Hi all,
Waited over an hour to see the MW for my sweep this afternoon. Saw a different one to the one I usually see, so had to go through the whole explanation of things yet again... However, this was the original mw I saw who had said that as dd was very big, I would not be allowed to go over the due date. My, how things change... will be booked in for an induction next Mon (ie 12 days after due date) I kind of freaked a bit, and was told I could arrange (myself) to see a consultant and if I didn't get an appt then I should cal her for an induction.

Anyway, try as she might she couldn't even reach my bloody cervix, so the whole effort of waiting has been a waste GGGGRRRR!!!

Just find the whole process frustrating. Feel like I know the best things to do but am not really allowed...GGGRRRRR!!!!!

And was told that I obviously provide a comfortable environment for my baby!!! GGGRRR!!!

Now need to work on other tactics. Can't face bed action - feel too huge and do you think it works?? Eat loads of pineapple anyway, am going to get dh to do nipple stimulation now whilst watching Dispatches - saddo or what?!?

JennsterBubsLayer · 23/07/2007 21:01

Nipple stimulation works, sex worked for us. Brought on a show and contractions and 4 days later brought on labour. Had reflexology on the Friday too.

Myfairone · 23/07/2007 21:36

Jennster - You did the works huh!

Well we have been going at it like rabbits (sorry if TMI) but so far has just caused some strong BH and nothing else. I find the nipple stimulation hurts but will persevere. Getting to the stage where I will try anything right now.

Keiralou - Sorry to hear of your frustrations. Its too bad that you feel you have a fight on your hands for whats right for you. Try and stay positive (I know its hard) and hopefully bub will come along all on its own!

Congratulations to Jendos and the arrival of Lauren

I had a miserable day today. No sleep last night has left me unable to cope with anything today. Feel totally bullied by my family (and feel pathetic at my age to be even admitting to that!)
Let it all get on top of me today and praying for sleep tonight!

My lovely DH took me out for a slap up meal so fingers crossed bub will want to come out tonight as theres no room left for it! [grrin]

Nite all and I hope that all the new arrivals are sleeping soundly and the new mums are in their element showing off their LO's!
x

MelissaM · 24/07/2007 11:22

Acupuncture is meant to be very effective too - I was looking into it, but never got chance to try!

Congratulations PPPS, JAM. Leisel, Jendos, Jennster and any one else I've missed! Welcome to your little ones - great names.

typhoonsmum · 24/07/2007 12:19

Am feeling miserable today. DP and I had an argument about an issue from over a year ago but keeps rearing it's ugly head.

He is being a total beep head. DD still not feeling well. Am stuck in the house and can't go and do some retail therapy, that always cheers me up, or even get to the corner shop for some chocolate.

Haven't got the weekly shop in as DD is too ill to leave the house and I'm starving

Thanks firststar. Sister will be in from work soon. Might ask her to nip to the shop for chocolate.

Mil is watching DD when I go to MW later. Might get some essentials in on my way back.

DP gives me "keep" every week to cover his share of the bills and that is what I get the shop in with. It is cash tho so I can't internet shop with it.

MelissaM · 24/07/2007 13:04

Firststar - I did think they should test everyone too, but having looked into it the test only shows positive in about a third of carriers. And one week it would show up and then next it might not, so the test isn't reliable. Apparently if my waters hadn't broken the night before, she probably would have been ok. Or if they had broken a few hours earlier (24 hrs b4 birth), I would have been given anti-b's to take which would probably have stopped her picking it up. I guess we were just unlucky in that I my waters went 21/22 hrs before she was born so they wouldn't normally give anit-b's. Now the poor thing has thrush in her mouth from the anti-b's. She doesn't much like her cherry flavoured medicine either!

Typhoonsmum - sorry you are feeling low today. I am sure MIL won't mind looking after DD for a little longer while you get some shopping in.

To all those still waiting for your lo's to arrive, I really sympathise with if you are receiving loads of calls trying to find out if anything is going on. We stopped answering all calls about a week before DD was due as the phone hadn't stopped for 3 weeks. Thankfully DD was born between her two due dates, but if I had gone over I would have gone insane!

Myfairone · 24/07/2007 14:04

Typhoonsmum - I am so sorry to hear that you feel down today. I had a day like that yesterday and its just awful!
Arguments at this stage of pregnancy are really hard to cope with arn't they? I think it has everything to do with the huge amounts of hormones running through our bodies...which leaves us totally unable to cope! Maybe try and put the issue to rest and draw a line under it so that it doesn't come up again.

Firststar - Could be any of us really

Well my day is tons better today. Told my Mum I feel totally fine today and would like a day alone! (and she heard what I was telling her!!!) I have pottered around the house and done a few jobs, been to the store, done some nipple twisting and just ate a pineapple! Quite the day!!!

Big hugs to all that need them and for those that don't.

Myfairone · 24/07/2007 15:33

Has anyone else actually caught sight of themselves in the mirror and not really believed it was them!?

I cannot believe that my tummy is this huge! It really is quite impressive!!!! Who would have thought that skin could stretch quite that much!

Okay, I'm going off to eat yet more pineapple..but really do think it may be giving me a funny tum!

agnesnitt · 24/07/2007 15:45

I'm fed up of this. Anybody got a trampoline they don't need?

Agnes

I'm on my ball too...and even though it says 'antiburst' I really am not convinced it isn't just going to go pop!

Hey, we haven't had a peep from Kyte or Mr Kyte have we? (I may be losing track here though) I do hope all is well with them.

Firststar - having a much better day today. It hasn't stopped my Mum calling at regular intervals!

Well you can nipple twist with visitors but have found that it hasn't gone down too well!

Beyonceen · 24/07/2007 16:12
