Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

JAM- Just reread your post. Slugslaying was down to all the vegetables in my garden I was slowly watching being devoured by slugs.

Myfairone · 22/07/2007 09:15

Jennster - Well good luck with the walk and have a chat 'with upstairs' to see if they can help you out with the labouring! Put a good word in for us while your there!!!

Have a great day.

JennsterBlastEndedSkrewtSlayer · 22/07/2007 09:16

And DH very impressed that St (stevie) Gerard is a saint to intercede. Can you tell he's a Liverpool fan?

tiggsy · 22/07/2007 10:36

morning all!! (two days to go )
sending out lot of labour vibes today
i'm off to do some serious housework as my mother got me hp but won't let me have it til lo's here! a ploy so she can read it first me thinks!
hope everyone's doing ok with their twinges and tweakings

typhoonsmum · 22/07/2007 11:24

A week to due date. And nothing happening.

A few of you on here are quite religious aren't you. (I have never quite got all the references but are some training to be priests) Have been brought up a catholic and have two uncles who are priests and I firmly believe that the saints can intervene in times of trouble. So are there saints that can help you go into labour? I know it isn't an emergency and that there are more problems in the world more important than an impatient woman and they are very busy dealing with proper diasters but it is worth a try. Isn't it?

Myfairone. I really thought things would be happening with you yesterday.

Going to recheck hospital bag today and write down what I have in it as I keep forgetting. I know I need to put towels in.

Myfairone · 22/07/2007 11:52

Typhoonsmum - If you find out who it is put a good word in for me!

I thought things were happening yesterday too. Just felt 'different' than normal but today just feel fat and uncomfortable again. I think I feel fed up today too! Need to get myself into gear and do something because I cant do this for a whole week!

Have a great day all!

typhoonsmum · 22/07/2007 15:19

I think I may have thrush. What a time to get it. What do I do now. It not bad at all. Just a little concerning. Can you use canestan now!

Dumbledorf · 22/07/2007 15:32

Well am back to the crazy pregnant behaviour and cooking like a madwoman!! Cakes all ready to go and turkey pie on the way.....freezer just full of odd food...

Ended up going for a walk on the beach at 7am with dh, just beautiful, think we have been lucky with the weather here. Did you read about the woman who went into labour trapped in her car on the M6? There was a midwife two cars behind her!! So those saints are definitely keeping their eyes out for us!

On the subject, there are a load of the Psalms that are used traditionally as prayers while a woman is in labour, but think this is more of a Jewish tradition than a Christian one. Can put the relavent ones up if people are interested. hmm, very religious here today aren't we?

twoplusone · 22/07/2007 16:08

HI all,

Congrats to the new babies..

lee is like a dream, he sleep smost of the time... lastnight, he fed at 10pm, 1am 4amthen 8.30am . he is on expressed breast milk as wont latch on, still trying though every feed.

Hope every one is ok and sending you all lots of labour vibes..

Will post some piccies of him onto my profile..

twoplusone · 22/07/2007 16:25

Have added piccies to profeli

Myfairone · 22/07/2007 17:25

Twoplusone - He is just adorable! He looks so tiny and so precious. Glad he is being a good boy for his Mum! Sorry to hear about the latching on but hopefully he will do okay.

Typhoonsmum - Not so sure about the canesten, its probably best to check with chemist. Can you get your hands on any live yogurt?

Dumbledorf - The stroll on the beach sounds just so romantic! Glad to hear your weather has been okay, ours has today too!

I would like to see the psalms..any kind of help is good help right? DH's family are jewish so thats okay with me!

I saw that about the lady trapped in her car..how lucky was she to have that midwife so close by! I cannot imagine how panicked she must have felt.

Well today turned out okay for me. Took my mind off no labour by going for a walk and now going to sit and feast on a bag of well earned Haribo's!

typhoonsmum · 22/07/2007 17:44

Asked the chemist but he said he THINKS I'll be ok. It isn'tbad. If I wasn't PG I'd leave it to clear itself up but I don't want to give it to baby when he is born.

Have stomach ache - sort of BH sort of not and I feel sick. Very strange. Keep getting electric shocks down my legs too.

Caroline1852 · 22/07/2007 18:37

Hi all. Just checking in on all the new babies..... lots of them. Congratulations to all of you. Good luck to those still waiting. It is much nicer having a newborn than being pregnant and I think you get about the same amount of sleep. I keep looking at my baby and thinking 3 slices of cheese and tomato on toast a day plus a punnet of strawberries a day, for nine months and you get this adorable little person. It really is a miracle.

Thanks JAM.

I guessed you weren't catholic but that doesn't really matter in the scheme of things. Thanks for those saints. Will look them up.

Had strong BH about an hour ago but it has gone now. Good thing to as DD has developed a temp of 38.3 and been sent to bed. Now fast asleep. It'd be my luck to go into labour when she isn't well.

tiggsy · 22/07/2007 19:36

good luck for tommorrow jam.
i'm off now, dp starts his leave tommorrow and i've got my pre op then in for cs on tuesday. still got so much to do!!
will try and get him to post and let you know what we have but will try and get back on when we're home.
hope you've all had your lo's by then!!
best of luck and wishes and positive labour vibes to all

well think it's happening for real now folks. Have my TENS machine on and have managed two naps today. Am just starting to time them, but in the last hour they've been gone from 10-5 mins and are lasting a good minute.

It was pretty weird at church this morning. Start of Preston Holidays, talk of relaxing and having a break and there was me in labour (very very early stages I add). Got to the Gospel and there was our first choice name for a girl. It wasn't chosen for religious reasons and and I can't remember the last time I came across the name at church (bit infrequent attenders us) so those saints were listening!

JennsterBlastEndedSkrewtSlayer · 22/07/2007 20:06

Oops and forgot to add Goodluck tomorrow JAM and Tuesday Tiggsy. Going to change my name to something easier so DH can log in.

justbeme · 22/07/2007 20:15

Good luck Jennster - cant believe that was me 11 days ago!! Hope all goes well for you

Jennster · 22/07/2007 20:20

Right name changed speak later.

Beyonceen · 22/07/2007 20:25

oooh jenster, so jealous, well done if you're really underway! went to church too today to see if any devine intervention would make things happen. For some reason i was convinced the babe would show on it's due dat. DH and I keep saying, "imagine not turning up for your own birthday!" have sent dh out for take away. can't be bothered cooking. Have bad backache and bh but seem to keep stopping. Should i move around a lot when they start? can't remember what happened with dd and ds - (probably a good thing)

Cyee · 22/07/2007 20:26

Oh Jennster - how exciting - good luck! The saints are clearly keeping an eye on you. My infrequent-Mass-attending stories generally involve random celebs. I am convinced God plants them there to make me go to Mass more Love that your girls name made an appearance - fab.

Good luck for tomorrow Justaboutmanaging!

Any word from Kyte? Hope things have gone well.

Good luck and take care to everyone else.

Things going well here. LO sleeping about 3 hours between feeds. She's a love, and only cries when naked (atta girl). Bf-ing has going MUCH better since milk came in. So new mums don't panic if your nips are aching at the beginning. Mine were chapped by day 2 and I thought it was only going to get worse. Once the food's there, things do get easier.

Cyee · 22/07/2007 20:27

Beyonceen - we also ordered take away on evening of due date.... and barely had time to eat it as had to whizz off to hospital for her to make her entrance!

Beyonceen · 22/07/2007 20:28

excellent cyee - you are great for morale!
